Dude
Just download the latest Lollipop from Samsung and you will be always safe.
To install a Custom Lollipop you should first flash the respective Bootloader and Modem that are contained into Samsung's release.
What I've told you will ALWAYS work. Flash a Sammobile firmware corresponding to the Custom ROM version you are intending regardless if it's LL or MM.

now i am on this rom lolipop 511 ...my phone came directly with this version of android 511
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/development/5-0-1-dn-rom-e-team-t3031712
and want to try this mm custom rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/development/rom-erobot-rom-note4-1-0-xxu2dpcb-t3357271
but maybe get some issue and want to return to my old rom ditto rom so when i want to try any custom rom even mm or lolipop i need to flash stock one by odin then flash custom rom even from mm to lolipop or just flash bootloader and modem ...
thx in advance
Hi ammarsg
To play safe and assure everything will work fine you should always match the ROM firmware code with your Bootloader+Modem Code
For example:
If you flash a Lolipop 5.1.1 XXU1AOH2 would be great if your BL+Modem could have the same code. This is not always possible so you have to find the closest one regarding your model/region.
The same will happen to a Marshmallow 6.0.1 XXU2DPE5. You should find a Marshmallow as closest as of the ROM for your BL+Modem.
It wont work if you mix Lollipop x Marshmallow.
The only overhead you will have while flashing an entire Sammobile firmware is that it will overwrite your Custom Recovery so you will have to flash it too again using Odin before the ROM.
If you are able to find ONLY the Bootloader+Modem needed for your model/region it will be easier but it's not usually available.
Hope you have understood now.
Nice regards.

Hi all, this is my first ever post so please bear with me!
I have a Note 4 sm-910f. I rooted recently and have the latest TWRP installed. I have tried to install a number of ROMs but:
If I install AOSP based I get a "Failed" error and a note to say that the ROM is not the correct one for the device - it seems to get my device wrong too?!
If I install a Touchwiz ROM such as NoteX it appears to flash OK but it just keeps bootlooping upon restart.
Any ideas? Could it be anything to do with the modem or bootloader? I'm currently on stock 5.0.1.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Cheers

Hi, thanks for the quick response.
I did mean X-note. I have tried a number of other ROMs too, Aliance - Emotion Revolution.
Right now I tried flashing a new bootloader/modem as per this ROM "http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-robomix-t3069298" but now I'm stuck in a complete bootloop!!
I think I need to get the correct bootloader and/or modem - I just don't have a clue why or what is what. I an't find any guides!

Hi There,
First, I apologize for my bad english .
My device is G900FQ but but it works for all custom ROMs produced g900f .
So the only difference between the country code and G900FQ g900f.
previous method : when I install android upgraded 1/272 , finish and bootloop .
The second method : bootloop.
Can someone help me so I want to install ?
I love this type of thing. but somehow I could not .
In the thread which contains the 6.0.1 stock rom it is specifically pointed out that the rom is ONLY for g900f so why would you try it? The developers have clearly said that the rom will not run on any other variant. So please read before questioning.

I want to say , I can not in any way to install device? Is there no solution?
I just want to say just there to help me .
Read the warnings, 6.0.1 is ONLY for the G900F
Stop asking for other models, it will BRICK YOUR PHONE
Or, go ahead and try it, but don't make a new thread asking how to fix your broken phone
This is a STOCK ROM, not a custom, BIG DIFFERENCE
BOOTLOADER
My Device is : G900FQ
G900F 4.4.2 Stock Rom ( Odin ) : Work
G900F 5.0 Stock Rom ( Odin ) : Work
G900F 6.0.1 Stock Beta Rom : Doesn't work.
very absurd.

I don't really see a reason as to why someone would want to downgrade back to 5.1.1 as 6.0.1 is amazing. Thanks for the tutorial anyways.
Btw the google drive link doesn't work.

Hi.
My 928f is not working so good.
Ive tried many firmwares but the battery is not working great. I now want to try to make a 10000% clean flash.
The battery was allready swapped.
Best way would be
A complete Nougat with Nougat Bootloader and Nougat pit File. Hope someone can give me a link ?
A really need a complete Nougat package with everything for a complete 100% clean flash !!
Thanks and sorry for my bad english :-/
if you dont mind i say this in here, but PIXEL rom V4 haves great battery life.
Had the same problem on stock rom, batterydrain. Pixel rom solved it for me.
basically if you flash stock frimware from odin, it is a clean flash when you have factory reset ticked. correct me if im wrong.
Ok.
Is every odin firmware with bootloader ?
First i want to bring to to a clean new stock
??

I recently got the SM-J730F/DS and i wanted to mainly get rid of the operator loaded firmware by flashing a stock or custom rom ... the problem is that i cannot locate any firmware for the SM-J730F/DS model? flashing the normal SM-J730F will work fine with dual sim support? And lastly which custom rom can someone suggest that runs without any bugs on my SM-J730F/DS
THANK YOU !!!

You can flash any firmware which is compatible with j730f.
I have XenOs but it is not without bugs ,i do not think it is custom rom without bugs.
My device is also a 730f/ds and I havent had any problems with a rom related to hardware. As far as I can tell the last two letters indicate the amount of internal storage and sim slots. Any given rom for J730 f should work on your device.
Even if you are stuck on a bootloop you should be able to enter recovery and flash a different rom.
Thank you guys for your help, so if i really wanted a custom rom on there which one would you suggest the most that has the least amount of bugs?
