Hy guys...
I got rooted my G928F and now i want to go Back to original soft, but when i do that... DeepSleep is not working anymore
Can i do something to resolve this issue without rooting my phone again ?
Best regards and thanks in advance
I dont think there is a way to do that..but why would you do that? U successfully rooted it .. its more nice to have root access
You need to flash the firmware again (you can download from sammobile.com), this will remove your root. I suggest disabling edge feed, edge and edge lighting these two features are know to prevent the phone from dozing (deep sleep)
Hello Costibetter1,
Unfortunately there's a known bug on this phone with deepsleep when Knox is triggered which cannot be resolved easily. Therefore, I advice you to keep using stock, but install a kernel such as Audax that comes with a deepsleep patch.
Hope that my answer to your question was helpful!
For battery stats analysis, have a look at this web appa:

Flash custom kernel. Might work.
Flashing custom kernel worked for me. I use SkyHigh kernel v3.0.0.
Hello guys.... thank`s for your Reply`s but they ain`t helping.
I`ve already tryied out this:
1. Flashed Firmware 6.0.1 with Odin (Not Working deep sleep)
2. Recovery flashing Firmware 6.0.1 with SmartSwich (Not working deep sleep)
3. Downloaded PAC firmware and PIT file, selected on Odin NAND Erase and EFS Clear and same result... not working deep sleep
4. I want to go back to original because every custom rom that i used it gives awful score on Antutu, and phone gets laggy sometimes...

i have tried both kernel .
but audax kernel work fine for me :good:
Hi guys, I also face a similar deep sleep issue (Knox was tripped when I bought the phone and the phone is currently not rooted). I'm planning to flash Audax Kernel while being on stock ROM.
I have a few questions before flashing the kernel which hopefully you can help me with a simple Yes or No to the following
The Audax kernel is in .zip format. Hence, I would not be able to flash it via Odin right?
If so, does that mean I will have to first flash a custom recovery and then flash the Audax kernel using it?
After flashing both the custom recovery and the kernel, I will not be able to install OTA updates right?
In addition, will flashing the recovery/kernel wipe my data?
Thank you in advance!

Hello Su_Tweetz,
To flash Audax Kernel you need a custom recovery such as TWRP, that you also can find on the forums and it will not wipe your data (other than cache and dalvik cache). The kernel itself cannot be flashed using Odin, as there's certain modules in the .zip file that need to be flashed as well, otherwise things will not work as intended. OTA updates will not work and therefore I recommend that you install a rom while you're at it, so that you can get said updates by flashing a newer version of the rom.
Hope that answers your questions and happy flashing!

So yesterday I ROOTED the phone using CF Auto root method. I thought I'll use the phone for a bit and see how it works. To my surprise, using CPU Spy app I found that now the phone goes to deep sleep after many months.
However, the next cycle it again didn't go to deep sleep after recharging. Then I used the Package Disabler app to disable all bloat.
Now the phone goes back to deep sleep and works fine. So I'm not gonna flash the kernel yet. Hopefully this will keep working like this. Fingers crossed.

Cpu spy, you can download on playstore, root is not required
Btw, my phone is not rooted (never was) but if i charge it 100% i need to restart my phone to enter deep sleep, otherwise my phone will stay most of the time on 400mhz, doesnt go to deep sleep if i dont restart, i have G928C with latest update PE8, since i got 6.0.1 im with this small issue.

Same here. I noticed mine also doesn't go into deep sleep after charging to 100% (mine is rooted with tripped Knox). So I restart the device after a full charge every day.
Battery life has been good so far now that it sleeps well. Lasts for a full day (>15 hrs) with 3.5-4 hrs SOT.

[UPdated]4.04 LPM danger -> move to LQ5 Kernel [info]& How to screen capture in 4.04
Update: Please install a custom recovery if you are running any of the 4.04 kernels. LPM KERNELS ARE MORE AT RISK!!!
I reverted back to LQ5 yesterday because of the issue with Youtube HD not functioning unless I roll back the Youtube version or swap kernels. Aside from that Chainfire has warned me that he will not be releasing and CF-root for LPM because it has an underlying Kernel *possible* brick problem that cannot be alleviated with just updating to custom recovery via CF-Root.
Custom recovery DOES implement a different means of running the wipe factory data reset that *shouldn't* cause a brick. But as per Chainfire's PM we may still be at risk?
http://download.chainfire.eu/202/CF-Root/SGS2/CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LQ5-v5.6-CWM5.zip
To check if you are one of these people that may have the eMMC corruption and possible bricking of your S2....check for Chainfires app called Gotbrickbug. Also by chainfire.
Gotbrickbug thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693704
Check to see if you are at risk BEFORE flashing anything.
1day 9hours and 11% discharging. 48% is screen so usage is about right seeming we sleep half the time LOL Me a bit more so than most others haha. Damn Narcolepsy
James
Screen capture method for 4.04 ICS Samsung is now long press button then long press home button; and in that order too. Not power and volume down like on 4.03.
Either use these and or wait for my ROM to be released via Darky if you are not confident.
Please give all credits to Chainfire for this, without him XDA would not have Root, so be thankful this guy continues to support us all.

You're on LQ5, you may want to ditch the kernel and run with LPM man. Its the wipe script that is in the recovery that will corrupt your eMMC. Not just the stupid .PIT file that it came with + stupid people trying to restore from a custom kernel after the repartition. Both are issues with LQ5.
Attached is the LPM ZImage + CWM apk. Use CWM apk by chainfire to flash the zImage. Then flash this
http://download.chainfire.eu/202/CF-Root/SGS2/CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_LQ5-v5.6-CWM5.zip
That will give you root and recovery too DO NOT WIPE ON THE CURRENT LQ5 KERNEL!!
Attachments now removed as per Chainfires instructions. For future reference please don't redistribute his CWM app, it gets installed with the CF-root flash anyway.
You seem to be saying that LPM has a safe kernel, while in fact it hasn't. There are even reports of people bricking their s2 by using the official recovery (not cwm) under stock lpm kernel.
Any of the newer firmwares than LQ5 seems to be very dangerous! Russian forums reported many people to have hard bricked their devices also whilst wiping data partition on lwm kernel...
So be aware of any leaked firmwares and only use official ones or those confirmed by chain fire for be working...

Really?
Hmmm I may have to look into branching siyah sooner than i expected. He has a lot on his plate atm, so will look into this. I have never built a kernel but afaik its relatively simple. Its the extra features that people want that is the time consumer. Well I would recommend that users flash the recovery that I have given the link to and utilise that.
If that is the case they should be able to run the LQ5 kernel and flash that recovery? I have just contacted chainfire first to give cred which I think a lot of us forget that he is a dev and we all use his work on this forum. Just because its mainstream doesn;t mean it should be forgotten about Anyway I have enquired about the recovery and wipe proceedure compared to the standard recovery wipe proceedure and I will report back here when/if I hear back.
Right now I am going to flash back to LQ5 and custom recovery

From my understanding its the wipe procedure. So if that is fine on CF-root because of the custom recovery then shouldn't we be encouraging more people to flash CF-root?

Well get off the stock recovery is what I am saying!!! Get off it now!! Your at risk right now. Just cause you flashed it and didn't get the brick doesn't mean you won't. It is when you do a factory data reset that you **could** get a corrupted eMMC. Doesn't mean you will...just means that at the moment you are at risk if you ever do a reset on your phone in recovery.
see the link in my second post to chainfires website. Download that LQ5 CF-root and flash that via Odin.
This adds a custom recovery 5.x to your phone and it should by pass the stock kernel 3e recovery when you boot into it via the CWManager app (this is in the attachment) I will put it in there sepperated now for users like your self that already have LQ5. If you want to boot into recovery you do so via this app only. It will take you to the clockwork recovery console not the standard 3e one that comes with the kernel and firmware.
I hope this all makes sense now?

Just checked now and my screen brightness was the default 70% as it was when I flashed. I haven't changed it because I am currently working on getting the Jkay Toggles and framework translated over to 4.04. I usually have it set to automatic.
Screen on time: 4hours 29m and 44s
It was more a note for those that are looking how the standard kernel runs. I know custom kernels run a heap better. I would be on siyah kernel if I could run it but I can't. If you compare kernels custom 4.03 to stock 4.04 you aint really comparing apples with apples are you? I hate apples now so I should change my lingo

@ Jarmezrocks
Which modem are you using dear?
Is CWManager App really needed when cfroot 5.6 has already been flashed via odin?
Below is the procedure I think maybe correct:
I) Flash CF-Root LQ5 5.6 via odin in download mode.
II) Flash LPM Kernel via odin in download mode.
No wipe or factory reset shall be done anywhere.
Is it correct?

I have rooted the LQ5 with CF-Root LQ5 v5.6 via odin & flashed the attached LPM kernel through CWM Manager. It's working fine.
One thing is that when i opened cwm manager after reboot, it says this version should be used with cf-root 5.0. Some features will be disabled.

After flash rom with full wipe the problem had gone for a day and came back the next day.
I use bbs to see wakelock.
I have already turned off the gps and location service in setting.
Edit: Problem solved. The root of problem seem to be from 3G signal from my network operators in my country (AIS)(A lot of people in my country also facing the same problem) and they have already fixed it today.

let your phone stabilize for some more time because after a full install everything have to settle and the applications find their steps.

Oh, and now that we are at it, your l2_hsic wakelock could probably be solved by disabling Fast Dormancy with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gokhanmoral.fastdormancytoggle.i9300
(Works fine with i9500 even if it wasnt written for it)

Hey, do you have a bit more information about what exactly in your network operator causes this to happen? I had the same problem (infinite GPSD wakelock) for ages here in Venezuela, yet whenever I traveled abroad, the wakelock didn't show up, so I assume it's my network operator as well. Is it something only the operator can fix or is it like Fast Dormancy where you can toggle it on your phone? The drain is so bad the only solution that worked for me was crippling the GPS by renaming the gpsd file

I know it might be a little late my friend... WAY too late, but i'm also from Venezuela, and i also have this particular problem. Setting your device to WCDMA only in Network Mode AND disabling Fast Dormancy with Gokhanmoral's app should do the trick, i'm already noticing some idling of the network activity (which was causing the gpsd wakelock in the first place)... hope it helps!
I seem to be having an issue with downgrading my S5 G900H Exynos to Kitkat from Lollipop BOAD. I've tried 4 different stock Kitkat firmwares from sammobile but all of them cause the phone to hang at the Samsung logo however I can flash back to stock lollipop BOAD and it works fine again.
ODIN gives me no errors when I try to flash kitkat or lollipop and infact both gives the "PASS!" mark what should I do?
I downgraded to KK from LP the other day, and ended up stuck at the Samsung logo too
Tried factory resetting, didn't work
The only thing that finally worked was flashing the same KK ROM again over the top of the one that got stuck at the Logo
Once I'd done that, it booted

The only thing that finally worked was flashing the same KK ROM again over the top of the one that got stuck at the Logo
Once I'd done that, it booted

You might need to flash the PIT file for your model S5, maybe the partitions are different between ROMs for that specific model
Be sure to get the exact PIT file though or you'll brick it
PIT file and KK ROM in ODIN at the same time, it will flash the PIT, then it will flash the ROM

You could flash a custom recovery like TWRP, but unless someone has made a flashable zip of the stock firmware for custom recovery it'll not work
You could flash a custom KitKat ROM from TWRP
The only method that works for mine is flashing CF Auto Root, to gain root, then using TWRP manager from Google Play to install TWRP Recovery
This will void your warranty though

Mine is similar to that too. I have to install CF Auto Root first and then install Flashify and then install TWRP via flashify img file to gain custom recovery
Might be worth flashing a custom KK ROM, then trying to flash stock over the top after 100% wiping everything & formatting from TWRP advanced wipe

I'm working on that now mate. I appreciate your assistance so far.
No bother, Lollipop not your taste?
I went back to KK just to see what everyone was on about, lasted a couple hours and flashed back to LP, some people get great LP performance, some bad, for me LP is way better

Stupid question, but you did factory reset after upgrading to LP?
KK leaves behind rubbish files which cause battery drain, I got the same after first upgrade, but after a reset, it has been great since
Performance is definitely better with LP this end too, but you're not alone, the majority who upgraded say KK is way better atm

Yep bud.
I decided to install a custom lollipop rom Zephyr Lite to address the battery and performance issues, if it works out well I will use it as my daily driver.
Nice one, fingers crossed

I installed a custom rom called XtreSoLite with Aroma addon and so far I'm happy with it. I tried Zypher Lite but it didn't work, rooting failed and had all sorts of problems so I'm glade to say I'll stay with XtreSoLite for now.
Thanks for your help mate
Good stuff, I was gonna suggest that exact ROM weirdly, I haven't tried it yet but heard good things about it
I have rooted my S6 edge+ with custom rom via TWRP. Now I have just rooted back to stock rom (THL). But it drains my battery very fast overnight. What should I do to fix this?
Thanks guys!
Same here interested to know what's happening. Nothing in the battery manager but phone is always luke warm it's doing something.

I don't know for sure, but I saw very hi usage of supersu in wakelock detector... 2.78v had many issues with battery drains, don't know if 2.79v has...
How do you re-root to a stock ROM after you came from a custom one? Lmao. I'd assume either 1 of 2 things happened,
You didn't erase battery stats in battery manager at 100% then unplug charger before rebooting,
Or you still have a systemless root running and that's just a god awful way to root all around.

I re-rooted to stock rom just one step from custom one by downloaded official firmware from sammobile.com and flashed by using Odin. That's it. Then my s6 edge+ rebooted by itself.
So how can I erase battery stats? What should I do next?
Thanks

Just flash arter97 kernel is oke
Hello guys. I have a Galaxy S4 (TouchWiz Lollipop 5.0.1) that is rooted with KingRoot (I replaced KingRoot with SuperSU anyway), has a stock ROM, a custom kernel and TWRP recovery. I did install a custom kernel because I wanted to improve the performance and the battery life, but I noticed that even with tweaking settings a bit in STweaks , my battery life and overall performance hasn't improved. Especially the battery, it drains so fast.
My kernel is an Imperium Kernel (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/kernel-imperium-ll-kernel-v1-0-t3058867). I chose this one because it works well with stock ROM.
What I'm thinking is that I've been updating my phone from KitKat 4.2 but I've never wiped cache or factory reset anything, so maybe some "incompatibility" is causing this bad performance and battery drain?
If I wanted to factory reset my phone now from the TRWP recovery (without touching /system of course), would it cause incompatibility with the stock ROM and the custom kernel? And would it somehow help me improve my phone performance and battery duration?
Don't think so.
A custom ROM would make a true difference to general performance, but battery life may vary.
I found this ROM made by the same dev who made the kernel.
If I flash this, will it erase my current kernel?

It's still TouchWiz. TouchWiz is not known for its performance, that's why many people choose AOSP or Lineage.
@Pwnycorn , could u help me?
First of all sorry that I asked a question here but I had to do this as I wasn't answered in my thread.
I flashed a custom Kernel and now I've lost my network signals. Although my phone detects sim card as I can see contacts but I'm unable to make call? When I installed stock rom nothing happened. I tried restoring boot.img with no luck as every time my phone doesn't even boot after restoring boot.img.

Not interrupting anything, as Pwnycorn already answered your question, just wanted to say that cross posting is forbidden here and against XDA Rulez.

Of course it would! They are for different Android versions; it's like trying to put a cube into a triangle shaped hole.
