i9506 Stuck on CM13 Boot Screen - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there ... !!
My Galaxy S4 i9506 is stuck on CM 13 Boot Logo.
Before that I flashed that ROM, it flashed successfully but lost Root privilege. So I was trying to Root it again via CF Auto Root by Odin but It didn't worked.
Then I Factory Reset it from Stock Recovery and After rebooting It is Stuck on Boot Screen.
Kindly help me what to do ??
I can't find a matched firmware of FTM(France). Can I flash any other region's firmware??
Please Help.

[Q] Upgrading to 5.0

Hello guys,
i got a d802 , the european version from germany,
i rooted it to get access to some apps and ive been told that you cant update the phone(with the original update) if its rooted.
can i update through the phone although it is rooted ?
if so, did the update release yet ?
in addition, does it contain all the languages incl. hebrew ?
thank you so much
edit: plz move it if it doesnt belong here.ty.
if you are rooted , you cannot receive OTA updates . So far there's no ETA from lg for our lg g2 ,and at the moment only korean version got official lollipop . We are waiting too ,on european version ,hope by the end of january.

You're right and you're wrong, because:
For model f320L (I'm not sure about another model), even my phone are rooted I can still receive OTA updates (if i keep the stock recovery). But for model f180 (Optimus G), it is impossible

Lollipop...not yet
Right now, when I check "Software update", a toast notification appears >> "Communication in progress..."
Root =custom recovery = no OTA. Simply as that. So if Lollipop appears, and you prefer OTA way of update- the only one solution is to use pure stock.

Rooted device doesn't mean it has custom recovery.
So if you don't have custom recovery you would be fine to upgrade.

Correct. I mean in general. Usually root goes in pair with custom recovery. So if you have root and want OTA remember not to touch recovery and of course don't delete any system app.

If there is an OTA 5.0 update on the G2 devices, then I am very disappointed.
Normally, on any other subroom, soon as Sammy or Sony or HTC releases their "update" (or source code), xda dev. instantly jump on it right away, and rooted/custom recovery users will have a chance to run the latest update BEFORE ones that waiting for phone providers such AT&T/Verizon to push OTA update.

I dont have custom recovery, can i upgrade with the ota with no problem ?
So i have a custom recovery and i was wondering if it would brick my phone if i flash 5.0 with KDZ when it comes out. I had an lg phone before it worked no problems but i just want to know if its the same with lg g2.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA mobile app
On my d802 all updates I can't do on OTA only in download mode, yes I have root and stock recovery and every time I apply an update root is gone I don't know why but is fine for me. I hope on 5.0 I can update on download mode ?

Stock on samsumg logo.

I try to fix that on smart switch, after i insert the model and s/n. He show me "does not support initializing"
what should i need to do? Tnx!
It depends on what caused the problem...
In most situations its enough to flash correct firmware in Odin (you won't lose any personal data). If this doesn't solve your problem, then you should make factory reset in recovery mode.

ok.
how i know what is me correct firmware that i nedded?
tnx alot!
First of all you have to know your device model and CSC.
Model should be something like SM-N910C/F/H etc. It is written in download mode or under battery.
CSC you can find in recovery mode. It will be written on the bottom of the screen (for example: XEO/XEH/...).
Then go to www.sammobile.com and under FIRMWARE section put that informations. Choose the newest software from the list and flash it with Odin.

No problem.
It is hard for me to say which exactly CSC code you have, so what can I suggest is to install this XEO 5.0.1 firmware - http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/47802/N910CXXU1BOE3_N910COXA1BOE3_XEO/ .
Probably it isn't your country code and it will couse some "force close" errors after boot. If so, go to recovery mode again and check correct CSC code. You will not see "dm-verity verification failed" error anymore as soon as you won't try to root or something like that. After checking correct CSC you can finally get correct firmware file and bring your device back to normal life.

It seems that your phone has Russian product code (SER).

Sure you can. But you have to chose correct firmware for your model. There is no XEO variant of N910F so you can only flash German one when 5.1.1 (or any other) is out. In most situations it will work fine without wipe, but if you want to get DBT OTA's in the future, you have to do factory reset.

sorry noobo here, how do i know which firmware is the correct one :/
Check it here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N910F/DBT/
When Samsung release 5.1.1 ".tar" file, it will be shown on the top of the list. Then you can download it and flash to your phone. It is firmware for SM-N910F N4 DBT (Germany).
You can also flash 5.0.1 file and factory reset your phone. When 5.1.1 is available you will get OTA update.

SM-G9280 lost imei and baseband

Dear all,
My phone can boot on but reboot after 1 or 2 mins due to lost imei and baseband. It had worked till I updated to 6.0.1 (with firmware download from Sammobile) and run CF autoroot and many things more, sorry I cant remember whole process. My fault is not make EFS backup before doing anything.
It can boot into recovery (TWRP3.0.2) and download mode also. I know my imei, any chance for me to recover it back and make the phone work?
At least, any advice how to prevent it to reboot?
Many thanks,
Anyone using a g9280 phone could give me a working efs backup?? Thought it can help.

First of all I know my English is really bad but anyway..Is your bootloader unlocked? If so you can just install twrp and flash the zip file. And if it's not.. You need to get into fastboot mode in order to unlock it and install twrp.. And to do that you need to first turn your phone off then plug in your charger and quickly press and hold the power and volume down buttons before the screen turns on.. Now you're in Fastboot mode..Now search on Google or xda how to unlock and get the bootloader unlock code..and install twrp for nougat..you know.. I don't know if you can find the nougat twrp here on xda but I think you can get it from htcmania.com :victory: I hope that helps

How to get back to stock and locked BL?

Hi!
I'm currently on Xiaomi EU beta, MIUI 11, android 10. I'm going to sell this phone and want to go back to stock global and then locked bootloader. I need some help. Tried downloading xiaomi flash tool, but I get an error message when trying to install drivers. Can I just flash the fastboot image of MIUI 10 global stable? Or will there be any rollback problems? Can I flash the .zip in the chinese TWRP?
Hoping for some answers. thanks

I tried to run it as administrator. Still the same error. It wouldn't be a problem downgrading from miui 11 to miui 10 just by flashing zip?

I can't tell you if it will work without issue... I think the best solution is using "Fastboot" method.
Be careful not to trigger Anti RollBack protection (ARB) when downgrading, this could brick your smartphone.

Ah yes it seems that if you flash through xiaomi tool or fastboot there is a check before flashing the ROM that can be rejected if the RollBack index is incompatible. Just avoid flashing an older miui version from TWRP, or check the RollBack index before. https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-anti-rollback-protection-brick-phone/

I didn't know they had the same ARB version, but I just wanted to warn, you have to be very careful when performing a downgrade. If I had to downgrade, I would check the ARB index just to be safe. There have been devices bricked before because of ARB on Xiaomi devices according to this article https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-anti-rollback-protection-brick-phone/ and others. Better safe than sorry.
