Hi,
When i wanted to modify the navigation bar to add a new layout, the error "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped" appeared and restarted the entire phone's UI, giving that error back and forth and not allowing me to interact with it.
I rebooted the phone hoping that it will get fixed but no luck, it keeps showing that error and i can't even get to the main screen.
I can still access to recovery, but i don't know which file holds the settings for the part i modified.
Can you help me to solve this?
Thanks in advance!

Yes i am, i dont recall the version exactly, but it has to be one of the latest for sure (a friend of mine flashed it on sunday).
In order to modify that navegation bar, i went to settings, swiped to the left and a bar with the Exodus logo appeared, i chose the first option from up to down, then navigation bar.

I'm really sorry I can't help you, not being able to install Exodus (and most other roms, for that matter) on my phone (yet).
What I do know, is that Marshmallow Exodus is still in alpha (perhaps already beta), so it's still not stable.
You should expect bugs of this kind for now.

Glad that it's working fine now.
The easiest thing to do when having problems with a ROM is reflashing it. Hope you enjoy it, sir.
Hi I just flashed this rom and it took sometime loading into it. Can someone please tell me if that is normal cause to me that seems really bad.
Ok

It looks like something's messed up from using the font changer and that a wipe is necessary. However there's a chance that you won't lose the pictures. Photos taken by the camera apps are stored in the memory card in the DCIM folder, so before panicking you might want to look for them on the memory card.
Hope it helps.

Reread the post, it talked about being stuck. Not that it sucked.
I had the same problem and had to reflash. I found the problem occurred when I tried changing too many fonts. Just change droidsans and droidsans bold. Hope this helps.

My bad, Half asleep lol.
bare in mind that some fonts are not supported by your phone so in case that you have flashed them alread, then your phone won't boot up. I don't have the exact solution for it but in the font section you may find better answers.
Hope to solve your problem soon.
ive not said that the phone sucks, i merely said that my phone was stuck! i love my new phone.
thanks
thanks for all your responses, i'm a newbie at this rooting thing, it all seemed to go straight forward and according to the instructions, until, i went into messaging to send a message using the new font. but it wasnt there. so i went into the fonts part to find one and pressed it and then i think at this stage the phone rebooted to take affect. been stuck ever since. i'll go try the font section now to see if i can get some advice there too. thanks again

The chances are you will have to reflash, I've done it myself with an incompatible font and had to reflash to sort it.

Some have said the repair method keeps them, but when I flash I do it fully so couldn't answer that question.
First of all you have to reflash your phone, root it again, install SuperUser and busybox then you are able to change the font(s)

hi, i did that superuser and busybox thing, and thats y im now where im at. please help. im really stuck now, as i dont know how to reflash. i wish i'd left the blinking thing alone. i just want it back to normal and with the programs id purchased and the pics of my grandkids.
Don't worry about the pics. Your apps may be a different story.
Flashing your phone is easy and there are many pages to reference. Just go to the android dev section.

Do you have PC Companion installed?
on the phone or on the laptop?i don';t thinki have it on either
Poor post.....
All apps, free or purchased should be logged by your gmail account so you should not have to re-purchase anything. Also, first start of market after a re-flash should show you all apps last installed on you phone in the downloaded section, but only once! So best be at a wifi network for fastest re-download. I am fairly certain of this but please correct me if i'm wrong, dont wanna be fooling anyone. One other thing i recall reading is, if pressing (and maby holding) volume down right after the buzz when powering on, should get you into fail safe mode. Maby you can jot down you apps or even repair the damage from there. Hope any of this helps. Good luck!

Hey people.
I'm just looking to findout how many of us have the issue of bootlooping (splash screen) overclock kernel is installed...?
I have seen at least 10 ppl on here - please post so it gets known how many we are.
I have tried formatting SD-card w both HP-formatter and Panasonic SD Formatter - neither helped -
I have Cleared Dalvik, Wiped Cache, Wiped to Factory Settings - and redone it over and over.
Nothing helps. Bootloop. As soon as i reflash Froyo kernel official (0050 on WildPuzzle Rom) everything works perfectly.
I have ruled out that the problem would be in SD-card. I have tried three diff cards of various brands and sizes - and also tried without SD-Card. All resulting in Bootloop when OC is flashed.
ADB won't let me get a logcat - as it don't find a device connected - or - as in the latest v5 OC kernel, says Device is offline.
How many - and who - has this issue - There has gotta be something we can do? POST to show the devs you exist please.
I have the same problem too. I've just installed new roms and also kernels. Nothing happened. My wildfire won't boot-up
I understand your frustration guys, really.
Unfortunately though, it is hard for me to be able to fix it without any logs, and I don't have time to play around with potential causes at the moment.
Hope you guys understand
We so do.
But is there noway to get a log w-o booting past splash?

Here's a question to everyone who cant boot OC - what color is your phone?
the 2 i gave physically encountered that have the problem are both red...?
I solved my bootloop by simply removing my SD-card and then booting. :O Format didnt work forme neither.
try it out
I have - made no difference. As i said before - there is no way that the issue is with the sd-card... I have tried everything regarding that. Results are the very same with - or without sd-card...
But thanks for trying to help...
danne_jo - adeadrat? any of you two live anywhere near stockholm..? if yes i could meet either of you and you can see the issue 1st hand..? maybe you can dig out a log somehow?
worst case scenario (i am desperate yes) maybe i can mail my phone to you jacob and you send it back in two weeks or so? (can't believe i'm saying this)

Curious but which version of the touch screen do you have?
You can find out by pressing the Vol Down button and Power button at the sam time when turning on the wildfire.
A Load of txt will come up, Will tell you if you have the Atmel or not.
Could be that as I know the PSFreedom guys are having issues with the other type of touch panel.

I have the same problem.
My touch panel is ATMELC03_16ac.
I too have the atmel, and I have no issues, although I have gone back to the non OC kernel as it seams more stable. I had a few force closes on a few apps...allllll the time, double twist mainly lol.
Ummm confusing one this..
Hi all the guru,
Please..Need help.. My wildfire have problem that is always bootlooping also..
I just updated from puzzlerom 8.07 to 8.10.. successfull then I do partition sdcard ext.. the WF rebooting it seft... until now..
Just flash rom again, but this theme is about OC problems...
Okay, so I recently (yesterday) rooted my Note 3, I was running X-Note v7.0 and CWM Based Recovery v6.0.4.5., Samsung Voice was annoying me so I decided to delete it via Root Explorer, it seems it wasn't actually Samsung Voice and upon reset it struggled to boot into the ROM, the background was black, I couldn't access anything but the notification bar.
I was a bit annoyed, but no worries, I'll just re-install X-Note and it'll replace the missing file and I'll be good to go. Wrong. It was exactly the same. So I thought I'll have to wipe and re-install, slightly more annoyed as it's taken me a day to set the device up nicely!
I wiped, re-installed and still, it's the same. I've wiped the data and factory reset five times in a row from recovery, wiped dalvik, formatted, /System, /Data & /Cache separately. Re-installed the ROM again and it still won't work.
It will do the normal long boot, showing the boot animation, then boot into the setup screen, won't let me use Wi-FI, so I skip that and all Google logins etc etc, load the new ROM and it's just black, again.
So now I am soft bricked, I can't wipe, I can't re-install, I cant't lay my stock backup over the ROM. I'm currently downloading Omega v6.0 to see if another ROM will fix it.
Any advice? I'm fast running out of ideas! Is there any way to totally format the internal memory like the Galaxy Nexus had? That way I can do a complete fresh install which should fix my issue. :crying:

It was a clean flash, which wasn't great. So I restored an older backup which was also crap, so I dirty flashed over it and I've got some call and texts received but it keeps dropping to one bar of HSDPA and then dropping out completely.
Regarding the APN, I'm on stock Vodafone contract. I've not looked into changing it. It all seems in order.

It could be a modem/radio isssue then - I'm not 100% on that subject and would hate to hazard a guess on how to fix, as they can brick your device if you mess up. Safer to see if anyone else chimes in mate, I wouldn't wanna risk telling you something that may ruin your device
I'm sure you'll get sorted though :good:

I've flashed many radios via ADB before, it's no worse than flashing a ROM. Although I doubt it's as easy on a frigging Samsung phone!
I can't see how the radio got messed up though, I'll have to have a look through the dev section for updated radios.
It seems of all the days for Vodafone to have a bad signal day, yesterday was it. After getting into work this morning a couple of work colleagues also struggled to send and receive texts/calls. I text 'web' to 40127 on Vodafone UK to get the correct APN settings delivered to my phone regardless and I'll seems well except a double boot when rebooting or cold booting the phone, but I can live with that.

I realized I only used snap to talk to one person, so I got her number and decided to ditch it lol.
Though what I did was I switched to a pure stock rom Found here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/development/pure-firmware-tuff-wip-t3224833) then I was gonna make a titanium back up of snapchat while logged in. Then switch back to the rooted rom we have, and load it up.

What I did because I'm on N and there's no Xposed is just completely unroot and sign in. Then you can reroot and stay logged in. Go get titanium backup and backup your Snapchat data in case you have to log out. Every time you logout and you're rooted, just restore the backup you made of when you were signed it, I can confirm it works because I just did it 10 minutes ago and came to make a post here about it.
I hope this helps.

Reflash your rom you're running (avoid flashing SU or Xposed at all, you can do it later) and first thing you do after getting to the home screen go to the playstore and dl snapchat and login. Should work just fine.
Getting rid of OTA updates on a rooted device by freezing "Software Update" apps
I have a rooted Galaxy s10+ with android pie. Doesn't freezing "Software Update" system apps of my android by Titanium Backup make booting problems for my device? Is it safe for me to freeze those apps? I ask because I've heard freezing some system apps like "Device Care" stops the device from booting. As other fellas I get ota update notifications and I wanna get rid of them by freezing those apps.
not a soul to answer?

because they come back, of course I tried that. you cannot just hide their notifications. They are system apps which android doesn't let you to hide their notifications. you can even stop the apps with some apps but they come back. You can freeze the software update without issues, or at least you could back in Galaxy S4 days. Pie might work differently than lollipop.

Some ideas:
Autonotification blocks permanent notifications permanently .
Or make a Nandroid backup with TWRP and restore if necessary.
Or use TWRP file manager (or aroma file manager https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108) to backup packages .xml file (should work also on PIE) in the data/system folder, which contains information About enabled and disabled packages.

Thank you, I still wanna wait for someone who has done the freezing way. No TWRP on my mobile and I also want things to be done clean. don't like any overload by other apps like autonotification.

Ok.
Always know that having root without having a custom recovery (TWRP) can be very risky because, in case you or some root-app make your phone bootloop, you cannot recover easily (And you lose your data).

Thanks for your advice. Yea you are right but at the moment s10+ was just released and its TWRP wasn't working properly. I'm an advanced user but I just don't have enough time to do it all over again let alone getting back up gets much time itself.
Still waiting for the answer folks ?
SO basically you are asking someone else to potentially F*** up their phone because you are not willing to try it yourself ? Sorry, but that's how it sounds....

Of course not. Some people have enough time to try different software and ways to make phones better. Some even have recovery software like TWRP which can undo if something go wrong. I'm asking them to share if they had the experience I mentioned. I was one of them a while ago.
