TWRP Not detecting OTG - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any solution to why TWRP won't recognize my USB otg? I've tried from version 2.8.7 to 3.0.2 and none of them will let me mount otg.

[Q] Stuck in boot loop after flashing CM11

I've been using the built-in CM updater almost daily for weeks now with no issues. Today, I noticed the CM11 nightlies were out. I excitedly downloaded it and installed it. It rebooted into ClockworkMod Recovery (which I don't recall it ever doing with CM10 nightlies) and gave a "set_metadata_recursive some changes failed . . . (Status 7)" error.
After doing some research, I think the issue may be that I'm still using an outdated CMR v6.0.1.9.
Should I have USB access when in CMR? When I plug the cable in, Windows says the device has malfunctioned
Assuming CMR is my issue, how can I update it without USB access?
I tried a factory reset, but it's still stuck in a boot loop.
I don't recall if USB access to the internal storage card is enabled while in CWM recovery or not, but for sure you can adb sideload any zip if you have adb setup on your PC. I suggest you to update your recovery then manually flash latest cm11. Then you'll use again the built-in updater for upcoming nightlies

Sideloading is new to me. I'll give it a shot this afternoon and post back. Thanks!
It is your outdated CWM recovery. Get the latest cwm recovery and it will all be fine
Had the same issue with Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Galaxy S3
Was always caused by older version of cwm
You don't have usb access? Just restore a backup then
If you fastboot flash the new cwm recovery and ROM, wipe cache you will be golden. Without loss of data

[Q] Nexus 4 USB OTG external powered on stock android 5.1.1

I have Y split USB cable with powered externally for Nexus 4. Also installed the Quanta 6 Kernel for AOSP build.
The usb otg mounts on TWRP recovery, however don't show anything when phone starts. Have updated TWRP recovery installed.
Can any one help on this?

Working encryption?

Encryption used to be broken for OPT.
Some time passed since the last time I was looking for ROMs for the OPT - are there any ROMs (OxygenOS?) with working encryption?
Also, in CM13 there used to be a bug where you weren't able to call emergency numbers, is that still the case with CM14.1?
And last question, do I still have to use a special version of TWRP & Android 6.0 or can I use the official sources?
I also have this question
Few weeks back started testing with device encryption started with last OxygenOS 2.x.x encrypted worked fine but little laggy on some task.
The twrp I had didn't decrypted so I was stuck on this ROM, some days ago I read about official oos3.1 has encryption working... But how to flash if I didn't had a working decryption on twrp tried hybrid recovery but they didn't boot to recovery.
Reverted to official twrp-3.0.0-2oneplus2.img using fastboot and decryption of data was successful, now the flash process begins.
Backup.
Flash latest signed official OnePlus2Oxygen_14_OTA_020_all_1608262242.zip
Flashed especial supersu.zip for oos3
Flashed official twrp-3.0.2-2-oneplus2.img
Rebooted to recovery and decryption was successful.
Rebooted device... Input password for decryption couple of times some reboots, Android starting and then it booted fine.
Now I'm on encrypted oos3 coming from oos2 with a working recovery.
I'll test some N Roms today.

No use i tried it but it won't work.
It's a known issue with permanent TWRP and Pie.
The solution is to boot TWRP from fastboot every time you need to transfer something.
IIRC, CosmicDan said he's not going to continue working on a new TWRP, so we'll have to wait until someone picks the project up

The right way for upgrade TWRP from encrypted device?

Hi Friends,
I've just installed LineageOS 16.0 on my Samsung S3 Neo and encrypted data partition.
For the moment the device is not rooted.
I would like to know the right way for upgrade TWRP from an encrypted device.
I'm using Linux Ubuntu 18.04.
I've try from fastboot, but the device is not recognized, while it is correctly recognized by adb.
Is it possible to upgrade twrp from twrp adb sideload?
Or using a non encrypted microsd where I will place the upgraded TWRP?
Many thanks!
Hi there,
I've solved buying an Y USB cable and put twrp on USB stick, then booting from the previous TWRP and install/upgrade the newest TWRP.
Thanks
Davide
