Gallery not organized - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I recently purchased a galaxy s7 edge international version and used Samsung smart switch to transfer everything from my iPhone to it, I also used wazzap migrator to migrate WhatsApp database images and chat history to it. Upon doing so, my gallery is a big mess. All photos that were transferred are not organized. Over 10k photos... it's a big mess. I thought it would organize it with all photos taken on iPhone in one directory, what's app photos in another, or something of that sort. Did I miss something?? Any suggestions please re!! This is annoying!

Is Social Hub dead?

I liked in my old S2, and now I miss it in my S3.
Anyone knows why disappear?
Anyone know if you can get by S3? Anyone knows if there is another application that does the same?
I liked it and I felt comfortable with all the accounts of the various social networks in a list on a same screen ...
Flipboard is Ok, but is a different scope.
Thanks

The applications that were used originally in it were likely seen as cumbersome as the actual apps provided better service and the same features. Why get two notifications of your friend tweeting you a message or liking the new picture you posted?
SNS is now used in a more native manner, such as face tagging in photos, etc. Just download the proper app and you won't miss the hub.

There is absolutely no reason to miss it. Just make a good use of Google Play and you''ll find more good software...

One cannot replace one thing had Social Hub: Push mail. In part, that was one of the reasons I selected and android phone instead of a Blackberry last year. Now Samsung removed it without prior notice to their buyers. After investing a good sum of money on getting a suposely better phone than my S2, I find Samsung fools their users into buying some cuted down version of software (and giving in replace the most useless piece of blotaware one can think of: S Suggest ! - I think it has to be some sort of joke)
Yep, I am very disappointed with Samsung.

Recovering lost pictures

Hello -
My Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge had several photos and videos taken earlier this past week. I thought that they were backed up on Google Photos. Unfortunately, they were not, and they were deleted from the Gallery. Does anyone have any advice on how to recover them without rooting the phone? If root and Dr. Fone are the only options, then I'll go that route, but I'm trying to avoid rooting as this is the least confident in rooting I've been on any Android I've ever owned.
Thanks in advance...
Jack
You don't have to be rooted, but try DigDeep Image Recovery in Google Play Store. It helped me out a month ago.

Tapatalk + Google Photo, how to attach photos?!

Ok can someone explain to me hlw do I attach a photo in tapatalk from my Photos online storage, as this 32gb is small and I have to delete photos from my device (they get uploaded to G Photos)
And now Ive ran into an issue that Tapatalk actually cant see those Photos, only those that are locally stored, which is insane! Also, whatsapp does the same, like wtf, screw this and their online upload and there lack of 128gb for sale,so I was forced to buy 32gb garbage.

I'm having the same issue when using my iPhone instead of my google pixel. And there is no extension associated with google photos. I wish they bring an update able to search google drive/photos and been able to attach them.

Unfortunately Tapatalk development sucks. Wants to become a social media center to generated more income when the focus should be on accessing the forums where the actual content belongs in a simple easy to use format.
Their current app is barely useable when at one time it was a great app, simple easy to use and direct to the point (accessing forums) not all the crap they have added to it now.
As for posting images...
You might use something like Imgur to put the photos you want to include and then just use the URL there to post on the forum. That way, the photos are no actually on your phone. Imgur has an app for that though it also is moving towards being a social media site itself rather than just doing what they were good for, dealing with images.
Thats not the point, the thing is that I would need to do like milion steps instead of simply picking from gallery. I dont want to double upload, links, crap, not to me ntion refisyering, account, etc..
Even whatsapp cant do it. This is a serious drawback, especially coming from a 64gb phone, whereI had practically 50gb of free space, and with Pixel, I got it on dec 2 and three weeks in im out of storage and had to delete photos from phone. This will present serious inconvenience to me.

ONLY 1 Caller Name not displaying with incoming call - Message OLI=62

Hi,
Been trying to fix this issue for a week now. When my gf calls, her name doesn't come up. Only displays her number. My contacts are on my gmail account. All other contacts i have show up. She has an iphone and her name showed up on my old s5. Her phone is already set to display caller ID and so is mine. I spend like a few hours aday trying to troubleshoot this.. No luck whatsowever. Weird thing is, sometimes when she calls, her number appears with a ;oli=62 behind it. Example: 714-555-5555;oli=62. I googled oli (originating line information) but it makes no sense to me..
Things i've tried already:
1) resync gmail contacts
2) deleted her contact on gmail/phone/etc
3) readded her contact to phone internal storage and also gmail again
4) tried in safe mode to see if a application is blocking it
5) rebooted phone of course
6) re-adding her contact info with her data deleted from gmail
7) called verizon support
8) and last but not least.. reset/restored original s8 to factory
HELP.. i was gonna try to exchange the phone for another s8 but i really don't think that might be the issue.. i tried researching IPHONE issues with caller ID not showing up but all her settings seems correct.
Thanks in advance.
That's a LOT of troubleshooting on your end and quite frankly I'm surprised you're still having this issue after all of that. I'm kind of bewildered on what could even be the cause of this problem.
So let me get this straight, if you go to contacts on your phone and add someone else's number and details it works normally but even if you manually input her details you still have issues with caller ID?
Only 2 things I can possibly think of
1. Network provider issue
2. I feel like this is unlikely but maybe a sofware bug? Maybe there is a bug in the code that throws some sort of exception or error when your partners specific number is saved.
I couldn't find a definitive answer for this anywhere, its definitely a head scratcher. You don't unknowingly have any other apps syncing contacts do you?
EDIT: Could you get your hands on another S8 to troubleshoot? If adding the number works normally on another S8 then you're Gucci, you know the problem is specific to your device. If not, my two points still stand or I'd be looking at the iPhone as the culprit.
No other apps. That's what I thought it might be too. That's why I did a system restore. And before I did any updates. I had her call me to test it. Still same. Oddest issue ever. I am actually pretty decent at tech stuff but this puzzles me. Lol.

That's really strange, what about in regards to my edit? Do you have another S8 you can test?
I only have one s8. And yes. No matter if I add her number to phone sim or gmail from the phone it doesn't work. I also tried deleted her contact from gmail contacts and adding it again. No luck. Adding a new contact works from someone else works.

When in doubt, just blame the iPhone.
Haha, all joke aside I'm all outta ideas mate. I consider myself pretty savvy as well but it looks like you've covered all the bases so far which leaves me at a loss. You sure you don't have any family or friends with an S8 that your gf could call to test? That would be the best way to narrow it down even further at this point and the next logical step IMO.
Yeah. I've been trying to tell her to call everyone in her phone book to see if her name pops up. Lol. She only tried few people.

I'm having the same issue with my boyfriend's number, I have an s7 and he has an android. It started happening about 2 weeks ago. Before that his contact info showed up

Welp that just happened when a buddy of mine called me a few min ago. He is also with T-Mobile. I am with Verizon. Had this phone since launch and hasn't happened until today. Gotta be something with T-Mobile numbers.

OK. I found a workaround to get the name to display. Log into your Google account on a computer and manually add that odd number. Example : 555-555-5555;oli=62. I added that along with the regular number without the oli=62 just incase they send out a fix for it. And that's it. The name showed up for me. Let me know if it works for u.
Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
It worked! I can't believe I didn't think to try this. Awesome fix.
Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Thank you guys so much. I've had this oli=62 problem for two weeks. The Google fix worked great. You guys are the best. I'll tell Verizion then should send you 20% of my monthly bill as you're better than their support!
Lol

[REQ]Samsung cloud appdata restore video

I have the verizon model of the s8 so i am unable to use samsung cloud(Thanks Verizon you jerks). I was wondering if someone would be willing to make a video showing samsung cloud restoring and app with appdata.
I found this feature still is available in my secure folder however it does not store appdata and am yet to see proof that it actually works with appdata.
Does samsung cloud really able to replace the need for titanium backup? How the F is this not built into android already. sigh....
