I've recently found two problems with my S7, that started happening recently for no apparent reason.
1) Wifi does not auto connect when in range. IE, when near a wifi service I have used in the past, it will not auto connect. When I go into wifi settings, it then connects without requiring a re entry of the wifi password. This is very problematic, because many times I have wrongfully assumed I am on wifi and have eaten all of my cellular data. This happens across all networks. In addition, turning wifi on and off in the tray does not stimulate a connection, oddly enough.
2) Adapt sound crashes, displaying a message, whenever I plug in earbuds. This continued to occur even when I turned Adapt sound off in settings. Very annoying.
All of these problems persisted after a factory reset.
Any help you can give me would be very appreciated

I've noticed that my [rooted] Vibrant frequently has trouble connecting, or staying connected, to WiFi networks.
At first I thought it was specific to my Verizon Actiontec WiFi router, however I've also noticed this at my office, where we use Motorola routers, as well as a few other locations that I frequent.
It's still possible that its a site-specific problem, but, less likely as I'm seeing this in a few locations.
Symptoms:
I configure my phone to connect to X network.
It successfully connects and all it fine.
I get out of range, it no longer sees network X and disconnects.
Some time later I return to my previous location and expect that in N seconds/minutes the phone will automatically reconnect.
A considerable amount of time passes and I notice it's still not connected.
I check the wifi settings and it days connection unsuccessful.
I tap the network, click connect and it works.
I've also noticed this after connecting to a network and the phone goes to 'sleep' or into an idle state. When a wake it up, it doesn't always automatically reconnect.
Anyone else seen this?
Any suggestions?
Many thanks.
i've had that problem. i am not sure what it was because I was rooted and Ryaned. I got sick of all the stupid lil bugs and had to wipe format and unroot. Now that I am back to the original condition, theres this sense of comfort knowing if something buggy happens, it's not "my" fault.
Thanks for the reply.
I noticed this prior to rooting and 'Ryan'ing'.
The capacitive buttons don't work all that well from time to time - specifically the Home button so maybe I should just exchange it. I'll call TMO tomorrow to see what they say.
This started Feb 3rd or 4th. The phone will connect to the wifi network, with a good signal. It will then re-scan every 5 seconds or so. This is causing all sorts of data transfer issues from downloads freezing to apps losing connectivity while running.
I am running on Verizon.

I am now running Android 5.0 but had NOT updated to 5.0 when this problem started.
I scoured google a bit and found an ATT forum that is essentially reporting what I am.

All other devices on the network are operating without issue - phones and computers - as was mine until now.
I have power cycled everything.
I have checked the routers settings.
The phone has been power cycled several times.
The phone has had every wifi setting that would be causing this scanning, that I know, disabled.
The following are off in Wifi > Advanced:
Wifi notifications
Passpoint
Always allow scanning
Smart network switch
I then, after the above, updated to Android 5.0. The issue still persists. Help me please.
My device does this, too. Cant say I have ever really noticed, I dont know if it has always done this or not.
I am not experiencing any issues like you describe.
Now that I think about it, I think it will always scan at a set interval when you enter the Wifi settings. It assumes you are looking for a network to connect to. I doubt its scanning when you are not in that setting.
I had this problem the other day. I went to wifi settings and had it forget the network and then rebooted and reconnected to my wifi network and it seems to have resolved the issue. others have just switched airplane mode on and off and this fixed it. good luck
Requisite "I did the search clause": So I did a google search for Audio Path, and audio path resetting when connecting to Wi-Fi, and I'm getting hopelessly unhelpful results. So I'm coming here in the hopes that someone has seen this before.
Hi all!
So I have a strange, and WILDLY annoying issue. You know how there's that "audio path" drop down in the navbar pull down? The moment I saw that, I was so excited. Unfortunately, it's become a major hassle.
Here's the scenario:
So I have my LG Bluetooth headset, or my car stereo, connected to my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Snapdragon, from T-Mobile. If the device automatically connects or disconnects from a Wi-Fi AP, the phone immediately switches to the speakers in the phone. It doesn't actually disconnect from the bluetooth device, but I have to switch it back to the headset to fix it. The second the wifi connection bounces, it does it again. This happens whether it bounces because I lose signal, get within range of an AP, or manually toggle wifi. If there's nothing connected, and I toggle wifi, nothing happens. It's as if the action of connecting to a wifi access point or disconnecting is causing the issue. I'm literally having my phone suddenly blare my music at work, (cubicle is in a wifi low coverage zone) and it's driving me nuts.
I did do a factory reset, and it seemed to have fixed it temporarily, but now it's back.
Please tell me one of you has seen this happen and knows a fix? I'm praying you do. Lol.
Having the same issue here and it was hard to find something useful on Google.
I have the Exynos variant of the S7 Edge.
Interesting. It still happens from time to time with me and I have a snapdragon. Here's a question, do you have netflix installed?
Hi there,
I have my S8 Exynox version for more than one week and I am facing some strange issues that I cannot explain and I have never experienced them with my previous phones.
I have WiFi router (2.4GHz/5GHz) running OpenWRT and S8 is disconnecting or keeping connected but losing internet access. Many times when I unlock the phone I can see that it is not connected to WiFi and just connecting or there is a message "Connected to XXXX" indicated that the connection was somehow re-initiated. It seems to be more stable if I remove 5GHz network connection but still not reliable.
This is even more strange. When I enable WiFi on S8 and let it connect I am facing network connection dropouts on my LAN not only on WiFi but even on cable. I am listening network radio and the sound disappears randomly and the issue is gone if I disable WiFi on S8. Sometimes I even have to restart the router.
Settings changes randomly. I was navigating with Waze and there was no speed indication. I stopped and found out that it was disabled in settings although it was enabled my previous drive. And another time LTE was suddenly disabled. There was 3G/2G selected in Connection -> Mobile network -> Mode.
I am using Dropsync to synchronize several Dropbox folders with my phone. One of them is synchronized to Share folder in local storage. Yesterday I found out that there is some sync problem in Dropsync and it turned out that Share folder is not existing. Some process has obviously deleted that folder. Could it be that I run optimization in device maintenance?
I am using Nova launcher with Morena icon theme. I have selected some icon for Samsung calendar to have is consistent with the icon theme but it randomly changes to stock icon during the night.
It forgot BT pairing with my Garmin Forerunner. I had to pair them again.
I have enabled volume sync when I connected my JayBird earbuds for the first time but it was disabled again few days ago.
Does anybody else have issues like this?
Experienced the WiFi issues in the beginning too, it doesn't kill my ping any more at least not majorly and it seems to have stopped not being able to connect to my router properly. Can't say anything about the rest.
And how did you solve the WiFi issue?

I didn't, it resolved with time, it did seem to stop after rebooting my router one last time but I doubt that's it as I already did that once and the issue happened again.
I'm here because I have exhausted all other options beside returning the phone. This thing disconnects from my work's WIFI when the screen is off, but it mantains connection on other WIFI's. This has not happened to me with many other phones I've had while working here, just this one. Phone mantains a connection to WIFI while screen is on, then it shuts off when screen is off. I come home, connect to my home's WIFI and alas, it works screen off. I go to Burger King, no problem. I go the mall, public WIFI, no problem.
I am the sysadmin at my work. What gives?
Already reset the phone, already called Samsung (told me to return it for another one)... I've checked various settings... just want to see if I missed something, because it all points to an issue with my work's WIFI, but why don't I have that issue with any other phone except this one?
I just checked with another person's phone, and it mantained connection screen off. I'm stumped.
8/11/17: Samsung tech indicated to wipe cache. Wiped cache / data, reconnected to wifi at home no problem screen off, came to work and screen off disconnects wifi. Used a Samsung Galaxy Express Prime with no SIM card connected to work's WIFI and no problem screen off, connects beautifully and streams no problem. S8+ screen off simply disconnects from this particular WIFI. Can't receive notifications on any app while connected to work's wifi - again, can connect screen off to other wifi's. I have this other phone that can connect to my work's wifi no problem (as well as others at my workplace). Any advice?
You have WiFi set to always on? or on while charging?
It could be the access point you use at work, an incompatibility with Samsungs Wifi sleep configuration
Hello, thanks for answering!
Well, it's set to always. I have a Samsung Galaxy Express Prime also, and it has absolutely no problem connecting to my work's many AP's and maintaining a connection (I'm currently using it with no SIM card).
