VR Shell High Data Usage Detected - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

Hi,
Can someone tell me why does it consumes slot of data? I'm not even using the VR headset or updates notifications. Wtf is going on. . Also how do I stopped this? I tried searching it in the App manager and I can't find it. Hoping I could easily just disable it. Pls. Help.
Thanks,

What app are you using?
¡what a day, what a LOVELY DAY!!

It's from the Samsung device health manager...they send you warnings if someone apps are using too much of something. Like that Gear VR Shell.

Should I return my S5?

My Android System is constantly at 30% or more for battery percentage usage and is higher than my screen. I have not saw my Android System lower than the screen in terms of battery percentage used and I've had the phone for about 3 days..

Narrow down which app is causing it what apps have you installed . more than likely it's a app

What worked for me:
Un-sync Samsung account
Turn off Samsung App store
Turn off Samsung App Widget
Turn off all the AT&T garbage.
Night and day difference. YMMV. :good:

Pretty much standard Samsung behaviour (Note 3 is the same)
Get shot of Samsung apps (just freeze HUB as it causes rotation problems on the N3 and may on the S5 also)
Log out of your Samsung account
Turn off GPS
Turn off Air/Gestures etc unless you really need them.
If you can rid your device of G+ and Google Search etc as they hog processes also.
Keep your syncing to a minium, try not to have every app syncing all the time at once, stagger the sync time a bit.
Grab Wake lock detector and monitor what's keeping your device awake/ using processes etc.
Usually, a debloat on Samsung devices tends to sort out Android System, But I noticed after I moved to Kitkat on my Note 3 that Android system rarely dropped below 18% or so, unless I used an AOSP ROM.

I think the problem was NiLS FP. Ever since I uninstalled it my battery has been amazing. I uninstalled it last night at 2am, then woke up today at 11am and my battery did NOT drop not even 1% throughout the night!
From previous experiences, if in doubt, take it back.
What's NiLS FP

[Q] Is there a way to deactivate my heart rate sensor?

Hey, so since I updated to lollipop, my heart rate sensor now activates every time I put my finger over it. I don't ever use the sensor, but I'm sure it drains some battery life. Is there a way to disable it so this doesn't happen? Is there an app I can disable or a setting I can change? Thanks!
My phone is not rooted.

Root and remove shealth
The way to stop it not lighting up when you put your finger on it is to factory reset your phone. This is what worked for me, but there might be an easier way.

I disabled SHealth in the App Manager and it seems to have stopped.
Rooting is unfortunately not an option, or I would definitely do that.
After switching to lollipop I had to factory reset it since I had issues with Google play services. I would rather not have to do that again if I can avoid it.
I have S Health disabled, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Any other ideas?

Bluetooth switching off at a particular location

.. That's how I would like to being this
This should be a singe for those in the know. After getting my S7E G935FD, I made some changes to the settings and can barely recall changing the Bluetooth option to be switched off when am at home.
I have't used any third party app. for this. This is embedded somewhere in the settings, is all I remember, but don't know exactly where.
Have searched high and low, in and out, here and there, but the option can't be found anywhere (poetic, i know )
Need help in disabling the same, as my BT headset keeps disconnecting when I reach home. Its really annoying. :silly:
Thanks in advance.
Try looking at the my places edge panel.

I get these from time to time. Then they go away. I think it's just an error is usage reporting then it fixes it self. Give it a day

I think its the process id of the process.
It is possible that you uninstall an app recently?

Notifications not working after Android N preview 3 Update

Not getting any notifications on my watch, Casio wsd-f10 after the Android N preview 3 update. I will get phone call notifications but not others (SMS, email, hangouts, etc). The notifications work fine on my Nexus 6
Have tried all the resets and re-pairing. Anyone else having any issues?

There is an problem with the android wear app in general. Since the last app update it doesn't work well on my s7e. Sometimes the app doesn't even find my watch

Same problem on my s6. I just turn airplane mode on watch for a moment and it connects fine after that

I wonder if it is the Android wear app or the Android n preview. Because I have reverted back to several different versions of the Android wear apk, and no change.

I'm on 6.0.1 and have the same issue since a while. So it's most Likely caused by an app.
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
I'm also having the same problem since updating from 6.0.1 to N preview 3. It was suggested in this reddit thread that a factory reset will fix the problem but I haven't tried it yet.
Are you referring to a factory reset on the phone or watch?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
I am also on 6.01 and since a few weeks ago my LG Urbane vibrates for notifications but I don't get any popups. I suspect that the vibrations are coming from Light Flow, since the test notifications from the Android Wear app do nothing on my watch. I rooted my watch around the same time in order to use Wear Shell, but that doesn't seem to be related either.
I have unpaired and reset the watch, cleared cache and data from the Android Wear app, but no change. Hopefully Google or someone can figure out what's going on and get it fixed.
