Hello everyone....
Last month ago I was buy new S7 Edge 364 GB Korean version with Olleh provider, but it was unlocked. So I can insert any SIM card. But the problem cannot using USSD code. It take a long time, some times success but many times got error or never end loading.
I hear from my friend, if phone with Olleh provider always like that if used to another country. SK Telecom is bo probems. So I think is only about software. My be hass been disabled.
The questions is, can i flash korea version to international version (G93K to G935F). Thanks before.

No you can't.
But you can root it and instal any g935F custom rom thru TWRP.
no problem. G935F/S/K/L use same hardware and cpu.
to make it clear for future questions:
- You can't flash stock g935f to g935k, it won't work and you'll be stuck in download mode.
- You can flash custom g935f rom after root and twrp installation.
use odin and select right csc file, entering download mode , no need to root. if your phone have different cpu or a flash lock, odin will notify you an error message.
if you cannot boot after flashing, just flash your origin rom.
flash different cpu rom must use specific file and you cannot do it yourself.
some flash lock models also need special way to flash .

Hello.
I tried to flash stock g935f to g935k, It fails and phone remains stuck in download mode.
I flashed the correct stock g935K rom to resurrect the phone.
Then , I've rooted and flashed a custom g935F rom with TWRP.

Thanks. I'm still hesitating to root my phone. I moved to China and there is Samsung pay, but cannot use it with a Korean rom and Chinese sim card... That's why I wanted to put an international rom (and also to remove the sound when I take picture!).

Hi Folks
My partner has just got the S5 Active and she loves it..
But now she would like to update from 4.4.2.. Phone says she has latest rom so my questions are this
1)What is the latest official rom for the Active?
2)Whats the BEST root method?
3)What Custom roms are suitable?
3)Finally what is the best route to take to flash a CUSTOM rom?
looking forward to your responses
regards
Lohtse
1) Here you can find the latest TW stock rom:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Android Lollipop is available for the S5 Active. You can download the latest Firmware and flash it via Odin. You don't need root for that.
2) My preferred root method is flashing CF auto root via Odin. After that I install another recovery like TWRP
3) Nobody can answer that. Try and find it out (perform a full wipe incl cache before you install a custom rom)
4) This steps: root, recovery, full wipe, custom rom, and at least if you want and need that: custom kernel

Thank you for the help...
finally got it sorted after reading around 9-10 different guides... all of which had little bits missing
now she's a happy bunny with LP on her Active and I'm a tired old fart with droopy eyes!!!!!
Just need a custom recovery now!!
Congratulations! How you solved it?
Yeah recovery is the same problem. It exists no recovery for the G870A
Two things that I found that allowed me to sort the Active which was mentioned
firstly to allow Flashfire to work you had too set clock back past 1/15/15
and you had to also set flashfire to boot into download to allow you to flash the G870A_OC5_Bootloader.tar.md5 file via Odin on the pc.. once I did these it worked...
Just depends which guide you read to find a COMPLETE one....
Damn that sounds very tricky

Not really just no two guides the same.... soon as I noticed the minor differences it was easy.
1) root with towel root copy stock LP(rooted version)
2) Install and set date to 1/1/15 then open Flashfire
3)Flash Stock rooted LP using flashfire making sure you have flashfire set to boot to download when finished
4) open Odin PC and connect S5Active
5)Point Opins AP slot to location of the G870A_OC5_Bootloader.tar.md5 file
6) Flash and reboot and your done...
MAJOR issue was the flashfire issue once found issue and set it as stated above I was Up and running after 10minutes Just had spent 4 hours failing before I notice and figured out what the issues was...
Simple really.... Well it was in the end lol
Hello Guys, I'm living in Korea and I use G900K Korean Variants.
I want to install custom kernel but there are no kernel for korean model.
Can I install G900F's Kernel to my device..? I really want to use custom kernel.
SM-G900K Darthrom EDGE V2.4
Hi. The G900K has the same hardware like the G900F. Perform a nandroid backup and flash a custom kernel from the G900F of your choice. Theoretically it must work.
Umm....I tried it..

1. You flashed which kernel?
2. Do you flashed a recovery like TWRP or CWM?
3. Do you have a stock Touchwiz rom?

1. Speedy kernel or Boeffla and etc. Which support G900F
2.Philz Touch (do you know?)
3.Not stock but touch wiz rom
Ok your phone is booting right now? I mean you flashed the original kernel back?
Don't use Philz because the development and support was stopped. Philz is out of date. Use TWRP or CWM, both recoverys have a touch function like Philz.
Please note that you have to flash the correct Boeffla kernel for your Rom Version.

You say you have TW but a modified version. I don't know if that works with Boeffla kernel. You can try the kernel Samsung stock stable 1.2
If that does not work, than your Rom is not supported.

Hey Solvin. I have a G900W8, would you also know if it has the same hardware as the G900F?
The only difference between G900W8, G900K and so on are the frequencies and basebands for GSM, LTE etc.
This things are included in your modem file and has nothing to do with the kernel or the used rom.
You have which rom? CyanogenMod? Touchwiz? Try to flash a kernel. Should the phone goes into a bootloop go back to recovery mode and flash your currently used rom again (the rom includes the original kernel).
I would try it to flash. But for the best safety: Perform always a nandroid backup before you flash.

Thanks for the reply! I will be flashing custom roms soon. However, some mention that I have to get their own bootloader to use it, and again they say they are for the G900F. Just to confirm what you've mentioned earlier, since its only basebands that are altered in different variants, I should be able to use a G900F bootloader on my G900W8, correct?
Solving..?
Thanks for your advice. I think I Partially solve this problem.
Use Android Image Kitchen to extract boot.img into Ramdisk and split img,
And change boot.img-dtb with my korean kernel's boot.img-dtb.
Then I tryed to input kernel. and it success to boot!!
But small problem like earphone is in.

You can try to use the other bootloader from the new rom, but before you do that download the original bootloader from the G900W8 to flash it back via odin, if you are in a bootloop. The G900W8 has no locked bootloader, you are free to flash and flash again.

Regarding your issue Kim, try plugging in and unplugging a pair of earphones. The issue happens on mine sometimes and that usually fixes it, but I doubt the solution is that simple in your case. Worth a shot.
Hello there,
I am currently found an interesting ROM in this forum called Phronesis Rom v3.0
(Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...om-phronesis-rom-v1-0-stable-feature-t3241910)
Currently I have an unrooted Note 3 with the Custom Recovery (TWRP). I know a root is required before flashing any custom ROMs. Before flashing this ROM, I have a few things that is not sure and want to confirm it...
Since I don't have permission to post a reply in that forum so I just post my questions here and hope someone can answer...
1. Since my Note 3 is different from the other countries (16GB version) while other countries have 32GB version, does this matter?
2. My current Baseband version is N9005ZSUGOK2. But I found the baseband version and kernel version in that custom ROM is different from mine (N9005XXUGBXXX) Can I flash this ROM into my Note 3? Will I brick my device if I'm doing so? (N9005ZSUG != N9005XXUGB)
<If the answer of question 2 is no, then skip the question 3>
3. Can I use the stock baseband version and stock kernel version (that is come from my region N9005ZSUG instead of using N9005XXUGB) after installed this custom ROM?
I hope someone can help me, thanks..
I also have the same problem

Thanks for the answer! But I'm just don't understand the concept between the Bootloader, Kernel, Baseband
1. Does Custom ROM brings with the Baseband? Can I use my original Baseband when using custom ROMs?
2. I have search some posts stated that the Kernel I've choose that need to be compatible with the that custom ROM. What will happen if I'm doing it wrong way? (Bootloop? Brick?... or anything esle)
3. Do I always need to upgrade to the latest bootloader?

That phiztouch thread is for international S4 . If your phone is AT&T S4 SGH-i337, the forum you should be looking is here.
I can not see the image that you post but based on your writing your phone must be bricked since you flash the custom recovery on bootloader locked phone.
To unbrick your phone go here and follow the instructions.
I have not tried Albe95's LolliROM 8.0 official rom on AT&T S4. But somebody tried with SS though. You can read it here. However, he did not mentioned that his phone is AT&T S4 though.
To flash Albe's rom you need to be on lollipop and you can not flash with stock recovery. You have to use SS. I am using Albe rom that made for AT&T S4.

Ohh, I thought your phone was bricked.
Custom recovery could be installed only on the AT&T phone with older bootloader (MDL/MDB). You mentioned that you are on NB1 4.4.2. So your bootloader is locked.
Your option for flashing custom rom is either safestrap or flashfire. You can find the instructions here and here.
If you like to install Albe's rom, the one compatible to your phone is this one.
Hi there,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) which has a 'firmware upgrade encounterd an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again' problem.
I have tried the Kies-method. No result. Device isn't recognized by Kies and I don't have an recovery code.
Now I wanna try the Odin method, but for this I need the latest OS-version before the error occured. And this one I don't know, because I am trying to fix it for someone who has no clue. Probably it was running on a stock Vodafone ROM and probably the latest version was Lollipop. But like I said, that's all a guess.
I have read that I need to be sure about the OS-version, because otherwise I might brick it permanently.
I can get into download mode ... at least that's something.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to bypass this? Or can I figure out what firmware version it was on in some other way?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
w/odin you can flash any android version just as long as the fw is for your s5 variant.
sometimes if not always going back to an older version than whats on the phone then a factory reset is usually needed after the flash
if odin sees the phone in dl mode then you should be good to flash.
backup the sdcards b4 u proceed
Thanks, will try it tommorow

Reading it back makes me some what nervous, because a guy named Emily J. Fox wrote this about it (not on the XDA forum but some other website):
Select the Correct Firmware Package version
From these step it’s also been crucial if you just grab any*firmware package*without knowing which one is the correct version to choose. So that is why I want you to know the correct*Android version*first. *Now, let say *if you still remember that your version of Android 4.3 Jelly bean before*you get the*firmware upgrade encountered an issue then you may only restore your device to the official Android 4.3 firmware. Same as it goes if you also have previously on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, then you may also only restores back your phone to the official 4.4.2 KitKat. *If you already on 4.4.2, you cannot actually downgrade back to the old software updates like 4.3, mark my word don’t do it.
So you understand I am a bit reluctant.
Can you take away my fear?

Say for instance I flash a Lollipop Vodafone rom, but instead I should have flashed a universal Kitkat rom (I mean no provider specific rom).
What are the chances I brick my phone permanently?

your phone is safe if you let ODIN default options
For example, Tab Options > Repartition normally is untick, if you tick repartition and you select a wrong ROM, you can brick your phone
Likewise PIT tab is very dangerous and if you aren't sure what are you doing with PIT tab is ver ysure you can brick your phone
NAND erase all? Do not you dare!
users brick phones by using wrong fw(fw meant for other phones) and/or options in odin.
going forward or back in android versions will not brick phones via odin if using the correct phones fw.
just use correct fw for your phone and only use the "ap" button in choosing the fw within in odin3. should be exactly like the pic below
afaik if bootloader is not locked you can go forward and back in fw versions, afaik the g900f does not have a locked bootloader.
either way it wont brick your phone but maybe just wont allow you to go backwards in versions.
feel free to correct me if im wrong
