Sad stuff when tech issues are in the hands of tech-illiterate people
I wonder if they'll be suing Microsoft over their new Surface tablet next?
lol Apple needs to keep their head in the game. Since Jobs has left, I havent seen anything new revolutionary from Apple yet. Keep throwing the same stuff with different flavors.
*puts on flame suit*
Its okay - Samsung will just reroute themselves and viola. Comes the tab 10.1 2.
F*#@#4 APPLE
I'm so pissed at this company that I hope that they get nuked someday. They need to go under once again and all the other companies laugh at their pathetic smug shareholders. That company is run by steve job clones so pathetic. So much anger towards this company I'm fuming as I read all this crap. Karma is all I have to say one day they'll get theirs.
Apple just had their suit against Motorola tossed with prejudice, that patent will soon be invalidated
I love how you guys can keep trashing Apple when the iPad is still outselling everything and no handset can match the sales figures of the iPhone.
Just saying.
I love my Apple stock. I check it very often on my Android phone and tablet.
Good, maybe Samsung can use this time to push out ICS /sarcasm.
Seriously, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 does fool the casual observer, quite often. I can't count how many times I'm asked if my Galaxy Tab 10.1 an iPad. They should have differentiated their design just a bit more as they did with the sequel.

I think that's really unrelated and a whole different story.
Time for samsung to up the game
I think if Samsung is smart and I do believe they are, with AMOLED Flexible displays on the horizon. Apple is going to **** bricks soon as Samsung unveils their plans on a new generation of tablets. Samsung is at the forefront of Display Technology and I do believe if they are smart to not allow Apple to use the See Through Flexible AMOLEDs and the Flexible displays. Once these new products are out lets see what Apple is going to do, I bet they are going to claim they invented the AMOLED too, pathetic piece of trash a company APPLE.
Just in case no one knows Samsung has already applied for a patent on flexible roll display much like the ones used in ( the SCIFI show with the Talons forgot the name of that show, the blue guys ).
I'm not getting any update for my Galaxy Tab 10.1 here in Germany. I would like to THAKS APPLE for their contribution. had to flash to UK-ROM to keep getting the updates.
I just hate these patent wars.
If you want a Sg3 better pick one up now ;]
”However, the jury found that several Samsung products illegally used such Apple creations as the "bounce-back" feature when a user scrolls to an end image, and the ability to zoom text with a tap of a finger.
Apple lawyer plans to formally demand Samsung pull its most popular mobile phones and computer tablets from the US market. They also can ask the judge to triple the damages to $3 billion. ”

You think this means anything? Samsung will appeal this decision to prevent Apple from getting any sort of monetary compensation whatsoever. This is only the beginning..
I think the jury are apple fan boys... lol
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
All this means is that Apple will have to start paying a lot more for Samsung components.
Sorry Apple fanbois, your device is actually largely made in Samsung factories. (somewhere around 25% of the components in the iPhone4 iirc) Watch for your coming price hike (on top of the already overpriced cost for the iPhone of course), if or when Samsung are forced to pay anything to Apple.
Meanwhile all Samsung have to do is drop 30% off their own prices and open up direct-to-public sales. I have no interest in the S3, but I might import an S4 down the line from a country that has the sense to tell Apple where to get to.
I can promise the world this however - I will NEVER now purchase an Apple product. I was tempted, once or twice, in the past, but not now. Not ever.
I would not purchase any Apple products either. The company has its moral compass all wrong. Stifling competition this way just goes to show how desperate it has become.
i think that from now on samsung need to do something new for his phones! maybe a new style and a new UI
The i9100 has been ruled out this trial, and I am assuming the S3 has too.
But yeah like the others said, it means nothing really, and Samsung will sure as hell appeal it.
I'm pretty sure every Samsung fan/iowner already knows this news anyway, I don't see the need for a thread???
Seems like the jury was filled with iTards.
Lol. seriously this whole patent wars has got to stop...

There's a discussion on this very topic going on in the cm10 thread right now. We've all read about it but it doesn't mean we can't talk about it. I don't know about every else here but all my friends don't care about this stuff and all use iphones, so if not here then there is nowhere to talk .

Instead of pinch to zoom Sammy should have used any other gestures like swirl clockwise to zoom/ anti clockwise to zoom out.
There's already a thread in this section discussing this decision

we all know the edge is a head turner with its unique design and this being a limited edition device not many people would have owned it by now. So what did the people close to you or even random strangers in the streets say when they saw your new phone?
post the amusing comments you've heard!
Someone: Is that iPhone 7?
I: No iPhone 10 S
Bring it on.....
A few of my work colleagues commented " Samsung are unbelievable" others asked if it was Note 4...most people around me don't even know that a device called Galaxy Note Edge exists.

I read a ton of reviews and all were saying how incredibly expensive the Note Edge was even on contract. Yet no one even blinks an eye at the price of the iPhone 6+ 64GB, and its the same price. I guess for the same reasons that no one blinks at the AppleWatches being $350 for the cheap one (I think the other 2 are supposed to be something like $1k and $5k?), but people talk about how expensive a $200 AndroidWear watch is. SMH.

Yeah, this also annoys me very much. The two phones are not even comparable, just look at the features/functionality the Note Edge has to offer compared to iPhone 6+... Seems like Apple just has to stick its logo on something and it could ask for any price which people would pay without questioning. Crazy!!

Yep. That's what they do. Put there logo on crap and make money, people eat it up and buy it.
It's funny that you have to ask someone which iPhone they have because they all look the same lol.
But yea the note edge is light years above the iPhone 6 +. And for those saying it's a 64gb not 32. Well the edge has a sd port which wins. But yet people still fuss about it being a high price device. And it's only what $75 to $100 more then the note 4 and note 3 @ launch.

Well you gotta give Apple credit for their marketing genius and power, that's for sure. And Android phones aren't the only ones.
Microsoft bought the rights to get their Surface tablet as the official tablet of the NFL. You see signs that say Microsoft Surface all over the place, but the sportscasters and local sportscasters were calling them iPads on the air. And then apparently Microsoft tried to correct them and now they are calling them (as of a week or so ago) "iPad-like devices". SMH. And of course we know that Android having had GooglePay (or whatever it's called) ISIS, and Samsung even has their own version, and they gained no traction until Apple came along. Now Apple has a watch coming out next year that, as far as I can tell, looks like a bad design (it's no sleeker than the Samsung Gears, the Gear solo is more advanced, and the LG GwatchR and Moto360 both look WAY better, as does the Pebble), and is about twice the cost of the competition. Expect lots of hipsters to be wearing them by summer.
This is what happens when you are the real innovator in not only devices and design, but marketing as well (not including the watches). Now that Apple is, essentially, becoming a bit stagnant and stale (even the fanboys were saying a month or so ago "Apple has to do something new with the iPad. Sales are dropping and people seem to care less"), it's a good time for innovators to leap-frog them, but unfortunately I don't see that happening (yet). The Samsung Youn (sp?) glass demo of a year or two ago was really impressive. I could see Samsung in the next couple of years coming out with a device that is a tablet and folds into a phone and vice-versa. That would be a huge hit even though it will likely be pretty expensive.
And it is all fueled by a lot of consumer ignorance and trend following as well. Apple completely understands this and caters to it. When people ask me which to get (because I have had both) I tell them that they both can accomplish basically the same thing, so if they want simplicity and ease of use, go with the iPhone. If they want tweakbility and some more powerful features, and better/longer device and OS support, go with Android. Windows phones are surprisingly nice as well, but most people that get them, even though they are happy, have iPhone and Android envy and wonder what they might be missing.

Thats great. I'll just have to make something up that sounds like some super secret beta or something. "Oh, it's the iPhone 6+ Crypto edition. It's only available for CIA, NSA, and the Secret Service. I shouldn't even really be talking about it." I just need to come up with some cool looking wallpaper or theme to back it up.

My nice immediately started hounding me for my Note 4.. But she hated on me nonetheless for this device.
As time goes on and more application developers figure out how to make their apps "Edge Aware" and use that realestate, life will be golden!!
My co workers all ran and got the LG G3 last month. Thinking Samsung design wasn't going to change. Then when I showed them my Galaxy Edge. Everyone wanted to hold it and they were shocked. A few said they were going to get one.
Just yesterday a girl at the checkout ask if it was the galaxy mega.
I told her no no its the edge, then I till the phone on its and show her the edge. Her eyes lite up lol.

My boy got the phone I want! That ish is fiiiiyah! Everybody at my job wants it now and I'm like stop biting and go get the Note 4 like y'all originally planned on!!! ?
I go into stores and ask if they have any cases and they always say "you got one" and immediately wanna see it. I even had some guys take some pictures of them using it......lol
According to this article Sammy decided to discontinue production of the Note 7. Therefore that should make the S7 top dog again right?.. At least until the S8 next year. What I'm saying is maybe we're going to end up with Nougat a bit sooner?.. Since Samsung only has 1 flagship to focus on at this point.. Any other thoughts out there?
http://www.theverge.com/2016/10/11/13202608/samsung-galaxy-note-7-discontinued
It may speed up the Nougat process a bit but I wouldn't hold my breath. I know T-Mobile is in the early testing stages still so we'll see I guess.
It means we'll get it when we get it. Everything else is just Internet scuttlebutt.
Probably means that developers who had the note 7 probably changed to a S7 or Edge, which will probably speed up unlocking bootloader and more subscribers to this forum section. Hopefully we get the latest Android by Christmas.
Thoughts?
https://www.google.com/amp/bgr.com/2016/10/12/galaxy-s8-rumors-early-lunch/amp/
Well I'm planing get the s7 edge after retuning my Note 7 so hopefully more people coming to this way and pick up this sección with more rom , mod etc. ..
More updates faster N

This like everything else is a misunderstanding. They are NOT going to ditch the Iris scanning tech, the s-pen and the rest. They have to much invested in the pen and the apps that go along with it. It would be beyond stupid to do so. My best bet would be no more phone labeled Note since the name is so tainted. I would bet we see an S8, S8 Edge and S8 Pro next year with tons of 3rd party reports of verification before launch of any. I would also bet that the many, many other series of phones will go by the wayside so they can focus on them.
We'll see but I am very skeptical about them ditching the tech from the Note 7.

I agree 100% with you. There's no way you can just abandon something like that. Esp. when that was a huge selling point for a like of people.
Now that would be best for the note.
That's a Flossy review.
It would be interesting.. And I bet now that LG has it(I have always thought LG was a daughter company of Samsung anymore), iit wouldn't surprise me a bit if we'r saw one come out soon...

maybe for a future samsung device, but 0% chance for the note 10. Needs to be built first party and the OS needs to customized for this. Samsung is busy on other things.
that is interesting, but no one is going to make it unless samsung finances dev. Also battery drain for extra screen, wifi/bt/usb for display would be a killer. Kinda a poor mans "fold". Like already stated you need core OS support as this is not mirroring, it's dial screen.
But with the bezeless design, a simple book case from Samsung is the kind of thing they would release.
samsung have this dual screen, it costs 2000$ and called Galaxy Fold.
Rightly said if we have one like that itll be crazy !!

Why would Samsung waste time and money on this? They have the fold that is their clear direction for the future. Not an extra dual screen for your smartphone

Because it's a good solution for all existing Samsung users, and something very 'Samsung' to sell.
I actually read an article yesterday that Samsung already has a patent for this type of device. And along with Microsoft, LG and who knows whom else, this type of display, could be an accessory add on. I mean the note for one would be a huge device with the two screens. And Samsung obviously(with all of their experiments over the years) has no problem making devices and accessories just to set how they stick and sell. Over the 8 to 9 years I've used Samsung devices(notes) they have done some clever add on experiments. They have the money to do it. After all, the note itself was originally an experiment.
But honestly, with the way they seem to think, they'd probably make it for the S series versus the note.. Ugh..
But it's all speculation..
