Why do you not want to use Xposed? I works great and I use it on multiple devices. The biggest problem people have with Xposed is not installing/updating busybox. I use BusyBox Pro by (Stericson) and there is a free version as well. Piece of cake!!! You're also missing out from being able to use GravityBox! The Horror! Horror I Say!
Easy, cause I would like to stay with ART I see your module and I was very close to install it... but... well maybe I.'ll do when I will be bored to not find the patch

Firstly, sorry if this is against the rules, I have included credit wherever applicable and am open to any and all improvements.
HTC AUDIO COMPILATION THREAD
I just got an HTC 10 recently and got pulled into the audio mod scene, and the spent over 12 hours trawling through every forum post under the face of the earth to find some way to get my imperceptibly better audio fix working.
This thread is an attempt to help with that by including working files and configurations for the HTC 10, and nothing else.
THIS IS A WORK IN PROCESS AND I DO NOT MAKE ANY GUARANTEES ABOUT THE MODS OR SOFTWARE LINKED FROM HERE

PLEASE SUGGEST CHANGES AND IMPROVEMENTS
Quick post and reservation for future.
Working config for me with each step included (relevant or not, just in case)
Dirty flashed rom to remove traces of v4a (Using Venom)
Installed busybox and xposed
Flashed Metaspook's V4A-MK latest and kernel (Elite)
Booted and gave V4A-MK superuser permissions
Installed driver through V4A-MK
Immediately (soft) rebooted
TO MAKE IRS FILES WORK YOU MUST GO TO SETTINGS>APPS>V4A-MK AND GIVE IT STORAGE PERMISSIONS
V4A was working for me after this, but I do not take responsibility if it does not work for you.
I recommend Dolby atmos 6.6 also made by @ahrion.
I believe the link is in the Original HTC10 audio thread as well.
Also ViperAudio. 4.8 and ViperAtmos. 4.8 by guitarededhero, and others that contributed and tested to make those go to mods for me.
Viper's I mentioned can be found on xda, software development forum. Feel free to link below.

Literally just solved this problem myself, you just need to give V4A-MK storage permissions in Settings>Apps>V4A-MK and the IRS files will show up fine. Adding to OP.
Thanks man haven't messed with V4A on the newer phones till now

Okay, all of this is so complex I dont even know what to say
Would be great to have the best sound available. Is there maybe a custom ROM for HTC 10 with integrated Viper4Android sound mod ?
I know to unlock bootloader, root, flash rom etc.

just try flashing the metaspook V4A-MK zip
Anyone here uses external USB DAC with their V4A?
I haven't tried a USB dad but I want to. On that note the hdmi output works perfectly. All our TV's have built in days and also sounbars and recievers. Why there is no stand alone dads that I can find with hdmi input I am really not sure. Dies hdmi have better audio than USB I do not know either but sounds damn fine to me. If you just want to had a separate headphone dac/amp then I think any with an xmos processor will work. Also the soundblaster E5 sounds pretty good and should connect.

were you getting force closes, freezes etc? i think it is either due to busybox or init.d support, the v4amk thread has links to flashable zips for both and after flashing them both it stopped those problems, not sure exactly what it was though.

Yeah it would freeze. I also might have had a bad from at the time. Its been a feature packed week.
Got BusyBox installed from Google play now.
Crucial step for sure.
Cheers
V4A works great when using Play Music, but I'm having trouble getting it to run on any other music app, even youtube and my web browser. I even have it set on FX Compatible Mode.

Im going to try to flash this. Im on the latest Leedroid ROM. is the zip all i need to flash as on his thread it says to flash a Kernel.init zip aswell. Also if something goes wrong do i just dirty flash ROM to get rid of it?
Edit: so i just tryed to install the mk mod zip and it worked fine but after installing the drivers and rebooting the app just freezes and so does phone. I tryed witht he init.d zip aswell and still the same. How do i get this working? Im on leedroid R155 which has the updated busybox.
Edit 2: set selinux to permissive and all works now.

Same problem here.
Does anyone have Viper4android or Arise running on their rooted phone? If so, is there any issues with music app or Google play music?
I'm also curious as to whether this works or not, at this stage of development. I would try it personally, but I won't have access to a suitable PC till Wednesday (only have a Dell PowerEdge 2950 running Arch right now).
Does/has anyone been the guniea pig tried to loud ARISE or Viper4Android yet? Any input would be appreciated! Please also let us know if you have SELinux permissive or enforce and if it works inline with the HiFi mode. Any info would be awesome.

A little late, but yeah...I've got ZERO issues with Google Play Music and Viper4Android. I actually had issues on Spotify...sometimes it'd work, other times, no dice.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/app-divinebeats-sound-master-phone-sony-t3274355 is the only version that works for me with no issue.
Use the new viper4arise + aroma
Fixed all our issuss on ls997.
Viper4android required mods or using the custom version for nougat. It was produced by guitarhero.
The arise platform superseeds viper4android.
Some of the addons for viper4arise wont work without some edits. Make sure to read the prequists in viper4arise.
As well i didnt need to set selinux to permissive on either version in the aroma installer. This is a huge plus for security purposes.
What is the latest/ most up to date audio enhancement package that works with the 6p these days? Is it still Viper or is Arise the newer one? And If I want to install, do I need to find a system specific thread for our 6p? Or is there an all in one thread for the respective project (Viper/Arise). Last time I tried to get Viper4Android installed, It didnt go so well, Im hoping the latest greatest goes a bit more smoothly for me (although Im sure it was me and not the package).
I've had the best results with latest Arise Deuteronomy/ SwanSong with V4A 2.3.4, Smeejaytee toolbox and ICE Sound (config 2, pure **** preset). There's now an Aroma installer option which makes it pretty easy to pick what you want.
ARISE thread with info, download links and tons of support.

Just a quick question as I tried to get the latest version to work with no luck, has anyone got it to work? Thanks in advance..
Ok folks after a couple weeks of web searching , reading and trying different ones saying they work I found one that at least allowed me to get Viper4Android installed and Dolby Atmos on my M3.
Now here is the link to the page ( send me a pm for the link as xda isn't allowing the link) I followed all the steps on the page and both Viper4Android and Dolby Atmos install with app icons. Although I have never used Viper so not 100 % sure it's working as it didn't ask for any driver install or SU permissions so please if someone has some experience with it please lend a hand.
Dolby Atmos on the other hand is working fine, as I use Power Amp ( chime in here if I'm doing it wrong ) but Atmos is also working fine with YouTube.
Deleted..
Ok Viper4Android does work but you need the SELinux Switch App and set it to permissive.. Dolby Atmos doesn't need it..
Thanks but I haven't root my M3
