Hi, i ve one question.
1-if the camera of nexus 6p is the same of the htc 10, can be port to nexus 6p? cause htc 10 has OIS.
oh god
No.
No ois is hardware not software mate.

Only one way to find out.
6p connector and HTC 10 connector look the same. They are at a different angles but maybe the connection fits. If I had the means I would try it.

You could try but you won't have the software to make it work. Unless you could port the ones from the nexus 6

I haven't had any great use of the camera yet so I haven't noticed this until now. If I hold my Nexus 7 (portrait) with the camera at a level with my nose I just barely get my face in the display with a lot of space above my head. I have to tilt the whole thing towards me and it would make video chat uncomfortable.
I've asked a friend who owns one and they have the same issue so I want to know how many others, if any, have this issue. I haven't heard anything about it here or elsewhere but I have to admit to only doing a brief search before posting this thread.
If I hold mine perfectly vertical with the camera at nose level about 8 inches away my face is perfectly centered in the screen.

Yep mine is off.. clearly points below where it should - I use the picture logon and have point above my forehead to get my face in?!

I've sent off a support question to ask if it's a known issue. I don't think it would be enough of an issue for me to return it but I'd like to know that I can if choose to.
OK last update for anyone interested. I got a reply and it is a known issue so you can get a warranty replacement if you want one.
There were many complaints about the build quality of the Nexus 7. There still are. Looking at the threads in the Nexus section one would have to conclude that many new devices were returned in the 15 days (or other 'no questions asked') return periods retailers as well as Google Play store have. I'm curious about the statistics of this phenomenon, and how much of a failure, or not, was this device for it's manufacturer, ASUS, from this point of view.
[EDIT] ERRATA : At the fifth question, I wrote 'five' instead of 'fifth'. I'm sorry, English is not my native language.
actually, got my 4th and it has screen lifting also, but somehow I rly want to enjoy this one so I give a chance to it

Asus build quality sucks. I have a tf300 and i had to return four, the fifth having light bleeds but i was done with the best buy people thinking i was up to something haha

I returned it twice. The second return being for a full refund. I don't plan on buying one again, very disappointed with the build quality.
Returned twice.. first one was for the mysterious screen shatter, and the second one just died after 1 day of use. Third one has been working like a charm.

Still on my first one. My ASUS TF101 is OK except for the dock battery which died...
My dad has a Nexus 7 and has had no issues. I think that Samsung tablets are better built but lack the marketing power. I have heard lots about the N7 issues but I think it may be blown out of proportion. Whenever a problem is found in any device forums fill up with complaints.

Zero, my thought is that a lot of people just charged one and then returned it to see what all the buzz was about. When I bought mine I really needed a new device. My 3 year old laptop was starting to fall apart. I basically wanted an internet device and if the N7 did not do what I needed I was going to return it and buy a netbook. I have a C60 machine and never had any problems.

Sorry, forgot to add that my Nexus 7s had the following common problems; Screen lift, Random Reboots, Blown speakers (noticeable popping sound) and I had to reboot sometimes when I'd have no sound at all. I had both a C60 and C80.
I'm on my 7th!
1. Light bleed all round edge. (C60)
2. Raised screen & dead pixels approx. 15 were dead. (C60)
3. Faulty speakers. (C70)
4. Faulty USB connector. (C70)
5. Faulty touch screen. (C70)
6. Faulty Gyro sensor (C80)
7. Raised screen but after a DIY repair was happy with the result. (C90)

Please don't forget to give your vote in the poll if you fall into one of the above categories.
15 dead pixels ... that's 15 more than my tolerance level will allow, but, most importantly, a lot more than the ISO values used to classify an LCD panel as defective or not : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_9241#ISO-9241-302.2C_303.2C_305.2C_307:2008_pixel_defects.
First one worked a treat

I can hear it cracking a little. It happens once or twice a day and could this damage my device?

Its a common defect with the design, the cracking noise you can hear is probably just the adhesive. Wouldn't think it could come to any harm.

About to return my 4th Nexus 7.
1 - Screen bleed (C60)
2 - Screen lift (C70)
3 - Died/stopped charging (C80)
4 - Screen flicker at low brightness (C90)
Do ASUS do any QC before sending these things out? I love the device (number 3 was great for 6 weeks until it died) but concerned about whether the replacement will break. Are others having similar problems or am I just really unlucky? Getting tempted to cut my losses and get a refund.

Sample testing, probably. They'll pull a device every x number of devices produced and run it through some tests.
It does seem like Asus is letting the QC be done by the end user after the device has left the factory.

You are very unlucky based on my n=3 sample of Nexus 7 owners
None of us have any such problems :fingers-crossed:
Unlucky. I ordered two, and both are perfect. But sometimes you get unlucky. I had three bad blackberries in a row once, and BB were not known for bad QC. Just luck of the draw.

Unlucky is my guess. I have a C8O and perfect out of the box. Perhaps get a refund and go to another retailer to try to break the bad luck.

Keep number 4 and put tape over the WiFi GND to fix the flicker. Doesn't impact WiFi signal in any noticeable way.

I think they all have the low backlight flicker issue however if you disable Prism it stops. This means it's software not hardware and could be addressed by Google someday.
Or document your string of bad luck on devices and work your way into a free upgrade to a 32gb n7. Win!

Thanks for the responses. I returned it today. None of the previous ones had that flicker that the last one had. It was REALLY noticeable.
If the 32gb one comes out next week I'll give it a shot. :good:

The 32 is legit. Some lucky souls were able to buy them from Staples today. Some proof of purchase is in the rumor thread and there is another going around. Also threads with proof on Android Central.

I've had my Nexus 4 for about 10 days and have just noticed that when I plug any headphone in the actually connecter is connected at an angle.
Has anyone else had this? Is this on purpose, since it is curved, or is it just mine?
To help me could someone post a picture of their nexus 4 with any type of headphones connected.
Thanks,Adam
Can't post a picture right now but mine is also like that. Its nothing to worry about.
Same for me.

Thats good then, I thought it was a fault.
Personally I don't really like the angle to it; I would prefer a non angled port since it looks cleaner and doesn't look like a fault.
Oh well.
Thanks for answering and reassuring me that it is the way it's meant to be.
I brought my Nexus 6p at the same time as my friend and his 6p seems to have a strange Bluetooth issue. I don't have the issue (havnt tried it on his cars stereo) but when you cover the top left corner the Bluetooth singal cuts out...any one experience this ?
He sent me this terrible video (video of a recording from an iphone, apologies ) but I cannot replicate the issue. Anyone else having this issue ?!?!?

ouch is all i can say if this is 100% true.
i've read other post people complaining about bluetooth on this device.. grounding? hardware flaw? weird when he covers it .. it does that..
Ouch right ... Well its defo true and he is really pissed off about it. Has to be hardware related which is not a good thing. Just wanted to see if any others can try it out and see if they are experiencing the same issue
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
seems hardware issue. RMA it.
I am able to replicate this with my BT receiver I have connected to my HT setup in my living room. If I put fingers on each side of the phone at the top corners it immediately cuts out completely. Remove them and it starts working again immediately.

Tried to replicate but bt didn't cut out
If I could shoot a video of it I would but I already factory reset my n5
Screw it breaking out the n5.

I was about to post the video, but I was like I've been using BT since I got it and this hasn't been an issue yet. And then I thought, wait, and checked to see if I could cause the same problem with the N5 and.. Yes. I can.
BT is known to have these issues transmitting though body parts we just happened to find a way to get the 6P to do it. I would imagine you could find a way to get most phones to do this if you tried.

Yeah I was able to reproduce this on my nexus 5 and note 3... I always thought it was my phone lagging or my Bluetooth device buggering up.
This was a good find. Though it does seem like it's easier to cut off the 6P then the other two devices. Thanks for the observation guys, was enlightening.

This is normal behavior. Bluetooth works on a very high frequency and does not go well through solid objects such as your hand. The module is located at the top right corner of the upper glass top.
I'll even say that most Bluetooth issues on smartphones with sound cutting out are a result of that very reason. Depending on where the antenna is located you may be blocking it.
