Hi guys, been a while since I haven't posted but I just got a new note 4 so of course I wanted to root it, custom roms and everything.
It works like a charm but I just can't copy a custom rom on it from my computer. So i tried to download it directly on my phone which seems to work but when I flash it I have an error, the same as when I try to flash it with a rom from my computer.
When I try to copy a rom, the copy doesn't process to the end. It stopped and I don't know why. I tried to copy music, movies and it worked perfectly I could read all the files without problem. It's like if the note 4 know it's a rom and doesn't want it ^^
So could it be a problem from the phone ? The recovery (I'll try to install a new one) ? Or something that I'm not aware of. I tried to look for a thread with my problem but couldn't find any...
This is the error message I get when I try to flash a rom : " Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/Download/NameOfTheRom.zip' "
Edit : I have a note 4 snapdragon SM-N910F
Edit 2 : I installed CWM recovery to try and install the rom I wanted and I have an interresting message : "This package is for device: trltexx,trltedt ; This device is trlte"
Does it mean I can't install any aosp rom because they are not made for my phone ? I didn't even know they were two types of snapdragon note 4. But since my note is a snapdragon every rom on the thread should work ?
Final edit ! Thanks to the error message I got from cwm recovery I finally found out what was the problem... And I flashed the wrong recovery ! So if anyone can't flash a rom just intall the right recovery ^^

Ok so before I start I did try to put this on the developers page but I haven't made enough posts yet so it didn't let me .... I am having lots of problems with my Canadian Samsung galaxy s4 sgh 1337m .... I will go online I will download the rom and the Gapps directly to my internal storage ... il go into it il do the whole wipe cache and Delvik and then factory reset .. then ill flash the rom and the Gapps and it says failed to flash the rom but the Gapps are successful .. I then flash my backup and proceed with my day .... YES I am downloading them for the correct device .... why is this happening ?? in my last post someone replied my Twrp may be out dated so I went onto my new computer and tried to install Odin again so I could flash the new Twrp to my device and my computer wont let me open Odin its a new windows 8 and it WILL NOT open it it gives me some Chinese letters and closes ... Why is this happening to me ?? why cant I open Odin or download Roms to my phone ... I've watched numerous instruction videos and it works perfectly for everyone accept for me .. someone please help me .... if my issue is resolved I will be donating to XDA .... this issue has been ongoing for weeks .

Lets start with what rom are you trying to flash? I noticed you are trying to flash gapps.....so I take it you are trying to flash a aosp rom.

Most roms provide an md5 number to verify a good download. It is a checksum that tells you the download is good. Get a file explorer like FX Explorer. Long press on rom you downloaded and then open details. It will have selection to do a checksum. The number should match the one from the rom site where you downloaded it from. Very common to get a bad download from time to time. You can also use terminal on pc, if you familiar with that and have adb on your pc. I prefer that method. I do it as soon as download to rom to pc.
Also, what version twrp are you on. Most prefer 2.5.0.2. This is a flashable zip for it.

Flash thru your current twrp recovery. Unless you already have 2.5.0.2 or the very latest twrp seems ok. On 2.5.0.2 don't ever do a format where you have to type "yes" to comfirm format.
I always wipe thru the Advanced menu manually. I wipe System/Data/Caches 3x. Always do that flashing new roms on new versions to a rom, unless dev says otherwise. Or, on CM Nightlies. Even then it doesn't hurt to do a full wipe on occasion. Crap can build up over time dirty flashing and cause issues.
As Ax said, unless you are flashing a CM roms, no need for gapps. Also, depending on rom you are flashing you may need to flash your carriers kernel after rom.

For some reason I cant install a costum ROM on my Note 4 (N910F).
As soon as I have installed a ROM like NameLessROM the phone reboots, shows the Samsung logo for about 10 seconds, reboots, shows the logo, reboots, ...
Its the same thing happened to me once whileI tried to boot it with no system partition (wiped it)
I am using the newest TWRP.
Anyone got a solution?

I'm having the exact same problem with my SM-N910F.
I've rooted the device using Odin3 and "CF-Auto-Root-trlte-trltexx-smn910f.tar.md5". This thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/orig-development/sm-n910-cf-auto-root-t2897428
That went fine and I checked the root privillige afterwords with a terminal app on the phone. I issued the SU command and got at .....root#. Don't know if thats the right/best way to check it!
After rooting the phone I still had the stock recovery tool so again with Odin3 I installed "philz_touch_6.59.0-trlte.tar.md5".
This also went fine and I can now access "PhilZ Touch 6" recovery tool.
From here I've tried installing three different ROM's ("GlamourS6v3_1", "Super.Fast&LolliFamous™[S6+Style+v2][PART.4.0.]_BOC3" and "Super.Fast&LolliFamous_[.PART.6.0.]_BOD2") but keeps ending up with a phone that just keeps rebooting.
When I install the ROM I start with the "Clean to install a new ROM" option and after that install ZIP. The ROM's are located on my SD card.
The installation succed and when I reboot the phone just continues to reboot.
Any good advise?

You have to flash via odin the right modem and bootloader for the ROM that you're trying to install
mone, your a genius! Or maybe you just read the instructions more carefully than I did
I found the exact info and links in the ROM thread and everything is working now.

Okay for Nameless ROM to work on N910F you have to install the SimplKernel and need to update your bootloader and modem accordingly.

If I''m not mistaken your phone model is N910F, if so you are flashing the incorrect ROMs as the ones you listed are for the exynos variant. So please look for ROMs in the correct thread "Galaxy Note 4 Android Development (Snapdragon)" And using PHilztouch recovery is not recommend and so I would advise you to install TWRP,
N910F = Trltexx
N910G = trltedt
Exynos:
N910C = treltexx
I recently tried flashing my phone cool pad cool1 as i was desperate to get my ota updates, when i try to flash it using YDGP tool is comes up with a error "check CID fail","bootloader is old" and several other errors that i saw in the dump file saved, so i tried updating all my driver's , but still it didn't work, then i tried a other trick of coverting my cpd file so that i can flash it through sp flash, but it was unsuccessful as i didn't find a .txt scatter file in download folder of YDGP tool, now i desperate,tired and i took it up as challenge to flash my phone at any rate

Is it equivalent to flashing my phone to its original manufacturer's state? I ll elaborate my problem onve again i want to have my ota update and in order to do that i have to flash my phone and thats where the problem pops up,i cannot flash my phone using pc ,i am having a error ,so will flashing the above rom with twrp help solve my problem and is the above rom a custom rom??

I'm trying to get my phone back to stock rom.

And I'm trying to install the file I got from: http://en.miui.com/download-360.html
But when I flash the file (miui_LAVENDERGlobal_V10.3.5.0.PFGMIXM_a5cabeca22_ 9.0.zip) I get the error attached.
Can anyone help me with this error?
Download the zip file again from miui.com, if you’re using a custom rom go to ‘Wipe’ -> ‘Advanced Wipe’ and wipe the ‘Cache’, ‘Dalvik/ART Cache’, ‘Data’ and ‘System’ partitions.
Once you are done, go back and tap on the ‘Install’ button and browse the rom file.
If this doesn't work, try the fastboot method with the miui flash tool.
delete compatibility.zip in rom file and flash normally
Thanks for the replies. I already formatted and wiped, and tried redownloading the stock rom file, but got the same error. I also tried the MIUI flash tool but got an error after doing the last step.
However... I did end up fixing the problem moments ago.

Hi all new here so I wanted to root my note 3 all went good nice and easy got twrp on it went to flash linage 17.1 and failed so did a wipe and seem to have wiped the lot including the stock rom sorry to be a noob at this so I've been using Odin to reroot and install twrp recovery 2.8 via SD card as that's the only way I know how and it works but every rom I try fails . I get command log error or the. error executing updater binary in zip any help would be good did read that my new digitizer and screen could be the issue as it seems to be a knock off ? Thanks in advance
