I have no permission to reply in the actual development thread, so I'll post here for people who run into the same problem. I started with 13S firmware my phone came with and followed the "TWRP+ root + 14S" guide by julianhrojas (thanks!). I had no problem flashing TWRP and 14S. However, Google Play Store won't work, as Google Play services force closes whenever I try to add Google account. I tried flashing multiple times, wiping everything including internal SD as well as different versions of Open GApps (Pico, Nano, Mini...) to the same result. What saved me was the Play Store installer for MIUI devices (2.0) available here:
xiaomitips.com/download/google-installer-app
Note that I installed this APK on a clean install of 14S firmware (I didn't test if it can fix previously flashed Open GApps Pico package).
I was then able to flash SuperSU and get a fully functional root. This allowed me to get rid of all the LeEco bloatware (for now I just frozen most of the stuff with Titanium Backup).
I also flashed Xposed framework ( dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk23/arm64/xposed-v84-sdk23-arm64.zip ) which reports itself as working fine, though I didn't really get to test any modules yet.
I installed Nova Launcher, AdAway and the phone feels really great now!
Great tip....worked for me THANKS
Hey Mate,
I just bought the Le Max 2 from honorbuy. It will arrive in a few days. I really want to have the latest possible stable firmware for this phone and I want to disable some of the LeTV features, too.
Is it possible (with/without root) to disable the LeTV-Feed-Page to the left ? (The one that looks like the HTC BlinkFeed) Also, is it possible to install a rom without any LeTV apps ? And install the normal gApps? (I'd really like to choose a version like I did with my other phones. Because all I need is gmail, playstore+games and maps)
Or is it possible to simply delete the LeTV apps out of the system ? I also bought Titanium Backup, but I want to get raid of them completely.
I am scared of bricking my phone directly when it comes, but I am more scared of a freaking annoying OS. I Hope there is a way to enjoy just a regulär android feeling.
Thanks in advance
I don't even know what LeTV Feed-Page you mean After a few days of using the phone I can confirm that the bloatware can be disabled (i.e. frozen) rather painlessly and without negative side effects. I didn't see any option to modify the middle LeTV docker icon in the stock launcher, so I just went with Nova Launcher. After that I didn't run into any LeEco-system specific apps anymore, unexpected messages in Chinese nor suddenly force closing system apps. Pretty much basic Android experience! No issues with Google Apps. And no need to register LeEco account.
This was done with TB on a rooted phone. I didn't investigate, but I think it is possible to disable system apps even without root, so you may want to check how far that gets you. Also, as a safety mechanism to keep in mind, after you flash TWRP (which is a part of rooting process), you can easily create a full backup image and restore from it if you accidentally mess up something with Titanium Backup.
And yes, you should be able to fully uninstall frozen LeTV apps with TB to reclaim space taken by them. I didn't do that still, so that I can quickly reenable them when I find some feature that doesn't work anymore. But so far, so good.
Hopefully, someone with more skill will be able to prepare debloated ROMs in the future.
I'm attaching pics with a list of LeEco apps that I have safely frozen, should be helpful. Just don't disable LeEco home launcher nor Sogou input (keyboard) until you install their replacements!

I can not post on threed, just because they are new to the forum ... a special thank you to mjoach ... he saved me .. I made a backup from TWRP recovery and the new update did not worked, my phone in soft- brick, luckily I read the mjoach link on the new TWRP ... thanks again
Hi all,
A friend has just grabbed one of these. Looks really cool... Interesting with the Type c earphones. Wow!
Anyway, I said, I'd put GAPPS on for him as I do for many other phones.
Quick question for you all - will I need to unlock and root etc? or can I just use the xiaomi option through baidu?
Cheers.

Xiaomi Google Play Store installer doesn't require root. Just download and install the APK.
You beauty. Although, it's never quite that simple when you're in China... VPN's and stuff, but I figured as much. Should be fun to play around with - think I'll get my hands on it tomorrow.
hello sorry for the language use of a translator, I run your guide XPose but it does not work (to the start screen gives me error caricamanto eui) you have info about it? thank you
I've tried the Google installer from Miui but I get stucked on the Google Calendar sync or/and Google calendar. And that's exactly the calender that's not working(syncing) on my le-max 2 with stock 13s and I want to fix.
Do I have to flash and root to 14s? I have no PC so I cannot do that.

I had the same issue but managed to get Calendar sync working once I installed Google Calendar. You can get Google Calendar Sync and Google Contacts Sync APKs from APK Mirror.

So, it appears my Kindle Fire just updated itself on it's own! No warning, it just did it! I caught it as the progress bar was about 50% across the screen.
Confirmed 6.2 Software Update via Amazon Support Site
Here is what I know:
1. It removes root functionality, including the SuperUser.apk
2. It removes the Google Market app (some people say theirs is still working after update, so it could be how it was added/installed) and some of the other Google sync apk's that reside in /system/app (probably because that whole directory gets overwritten).
3. It overwrites the framework-res.apk file, so any customizations that were made to it (battery charge icon, custom wallpaper etc.), will be wiped out.
4. If you removed built-in apps like Facebook and IMDB before the update, they will have re-appeared again.
With some testing from Veritass (someone brave enough to try re-rooting again after the update), it is now pretty much back to normal. The steps I took to get there were:
1. Re-root using the standard SuperOneClick method we are all used to
2. Re-added the following apks in /system/app and applied the correct permissions:
- Vending.apk
- GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk
- GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk
Everything else was still working BEFORE I re-rooted, as the GoogleServicesFramework.apk remains intact and running. This includes, but is not limited to Gmail, Maps, Calendar, YouTube, Translate, Finance.
So, all is well again, and it didn't really mess up too much (that I can see). A minor inconvenience for no particular gain as far as I can see.
NOTE:
1. Amazon Video still doesn't work when rooted
2. The stock Carousel app still won't allow you to remove apps (not that I care about that myself, but you'd figure that a fix was imminent as this was a major gripe for a lot of users!)
3. Auto brightness is still not enabled

same here. without any question it runs the update.
I just went and checked mine, didn't update... still 6.1.
6.1 here as well; although, I will not be surprised if there are a lot of updates over the next couple months. It's interesting it auto updates because of the rooting implications, though.
I left mine alone for about 10 minutes after i checked earlier for the update. Now its been auto-updated. I lost root access and i keep getting android market has quit errors. Great.
Can i just reroot? or what now?

6.2 is coming, it's confirmed on their website (I updated my OP). But, yes it's worrying to those who have rooted (especially as it breaks it). I can't see any particular reason for the update either. The much touted Carosel fix (i.e being able to delete items from it) is not present.
I'll do some more digging....
As far as i can tell the updated did nothing except kill the root...

If you are brave! Personally, I would wait for some of the more experienced devs to give it the once over first.
idk if mine updated yet but if it did ill try SOC(super1click) to re root it when i get home (in about 30 min) Idc if i ruin my fire i payed 15$ for it

Thanks for being the guinea pig! Let us know how it goes. I'm not quite as brave, although if someone else confirms it works, I'll be the first one to do it afterwards!
Same here, locked the screen and then noticed the progress bar appear after a few moments. That's frustrating to say the least!
im on my way home right now. Will Post when Im done testing SUPER1CLICK
I haven't tried to reroot, but I have checked, all my extra apps and the Android Market Place are working fine. I actually had root switched off so I could use the Amazon Video service so it's not a big loss for me. Hopefully it still works for anyone rooting for the first time.
I wonder if anyone had OTA rootkeeper on then updated and could reroot.
Mine is still 6.1 however.
update is installing will attempt root.
From what I'm seeing, it pretty much did a rip and replace of /system/app (and probably a ton of other stuff). So, all the customization and Google apps that were installed in /system/app are now gone (this includes the market).
I'm hoping that it will all be replaceable!
Someone may want to figure out how to block updates as the Fire is set to automatically download an OTA update and apply it if the device goes to sleep.
this just irks me....
Scared to connect mine to wifi now! I just did a temp unroot, but if the update is stripping Google apps, then maybe I need an backup of them too.
Now would be a great time to get a working recovery with backup capability ..
sent from phone, sorry for typos.
rooted with S1C it worked for me. No problems i tested root explorer super user and a screen shot app all of them got Root access. mounted root as rw. must reboot after root. for access to SD card. Installed Market no problem I say its a GO!
Installed all Google apps no problem No force closes no nothing

did you use Debloater or that apps Package Disabler he post on
Package Disabler didn't work for me.
Debloater hides apps fine though.
I just bought package disabler from ospolice aiming to remove that in my case unused video-startscreen.
So far i couldnt remove it but it wont start any app when i click on it leaving me not too happy as i wanted to get rid of that waste of screen-estate.
Any hints on how i could do that with package disabler?
Cheers, red
Ps: Oh, and the small family sqaure icon is also still present on the lower left although it doesnt seem to do anything any more...
Whoopsie, guess I now semi-bricked my t670 through package disabler from ospolice ;(
After disabling all bloat-packages (which did not remove the video-home-screen as mentioned above) I re-enabled some and possibly also disabled a package so that my galaxy view now won't launch the android UI but hangs after the Samsung animation repeatedly showing a warning message 'GUI stopped' (translated meaning).
I can hit 'OK' how often I want, the andoid-UI won't show; luckily, I can still enter ODIN-Flash-Mode by holding Vol-Up and Vol-Down while powering the device on.
The big question for me now is: where do I get the original samsung ROM to re-flash and hopefully unbrick my galaxy view?
EDIT: I've found my countries version on the following sites:
- http://www.mrcrab.net (links to rapidgator)
- https://www.samdownloads.de (requires registration)
- http://www.sammobile.com (requires registration, slow free download (15kbps))
- https://samsung-firmware.org (requires registration)
i wonder which of those is trustworthy? any experiences with any of the mentioned sites?
speedwise: downloads from rapidgator and samdowloads load rather fast in my case (>200kbps), samsung-firmware is capped at 75kbps.
any ideas on this are very welcome!
EDIT2: downloaded ROMs from mrcrab.net, samdownloads.de and samsung-firmware.org, they all yield the same T670UEU1AOJC_T670OXX1AOJC_HOME.tar.md5 with the same md5-hash e3a20cc856904f97f107e5136eed22cf so I guess/hope that they represent the original ROM...
EDIT3: re-flashing via ODIN succeeded but UI did still not come up after a restart so i also wiped data and performed a factory reset. afterwards UI came back and the t670 was of course factory reset. at least my tablet is not semi-bricked any more.
so... i still have to find a way to get rid of that stupid video-home-screen. if anyone succeded please outline what steps were performed.
cheers, red

*** ONLY DO THIS FOR TESTING PURPOSE ***
Those who have got the MM update, could you please check whether uninstalling Facebook app via Titanium makes your auto rotation to stop working? Some say it doesn't, some say it does.
I took a screen record while uninstalling it, make sure you are doing the exact same steps. For the record, uninstalling ONLY the apk is enough to mess it up, I still went on and removed the other Facebook system stuffs out of frustration.
Please comment.
I always uninstall Facebook & "company" and other trash again, and never had problems with rotation on kitkat , lollipop and marshmallow.

Yes, by re-flashing the stock ROM[emoji23]And then not touching those Facebook related craps.
PS:

I uninstalled most of those apps except Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Play newsletter and maybe another app too.
I noticed one thing today, if you use an app like System App Remover, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp&hl=en
, then uninstall Facebook and other craps, then the rotation works normally. So it could be Titanium doing something crazy here, don't know!
I have the same problem (or I think so), I removed Facebook and Instagram applications with titanium backup and noticed my screen can't auto-rotate now
Anyone can upload the libgnustl_shared.so file ? I don't feel like flashing the whole system file again...

It looks like only reflashing the stock FW will help

Maybe titanium or i flashed ios emoji for google keyboard!! But that never happened when was on Lollipop!! Now back to Odin

Somebody, give this man a medal! Saved my butt reflashing ROM again. Just copy to system/lib change permission to rw-r--r-- and reboot. You think it's caused by Titanium Backup? In that case? We should notify them.
yeah..... I got this too 2 days ago.
I uninstall some bloatware, including facebook with titanium backup.
then I realize that screen rotation doent work anymore.
I check the gyro, gravity, accel sensor. all works fine, but screen rotation wont work.
So I restore my backup ROM, and everything is fine again.
and yeah.... I just tried uninstalling facebook again, but this time I use System App Remover https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp&hl=en
auto rotation is still works.
Same here... I've done some testing removing bloatware and it's Titanium Backup's fault... I had to reflash the custom rom I'm using several times to reach this conclusion...

Out of curiosity, where did you get that file from?
I've just made a flashable zip with my working libgnustl_shared.so so I can replicate the issue later on and see if this solution works for me...
I downloaded this rom, extracted the zip, & copy pasted libgnustl to system/lib & changed permissions. Hopefully the individual upload will save someone else 1.49gb
The other version of libgnustl that was posted here didn't work for me, I tried it 3-4 times. My phone is a N910T.
It was a happy accident- I was planning on following someone else's success of extracting system.img.ext4 & flashing that file with skip soft, or more likely reverting to stock before I thought 'what if...'
A big thank you to everyone who shared the info to finding a solution
Anyone tried this yet?

Does anyone know how to install Google Play Store?
I can't seem to get google play working either. Opengapps pico requires more space to be able to flash it onto the device and Google Services installer doesn't work. Everything else seems to work perfectly and really smooth too! I might stick to Remix untill we find a way.
EDIT: After flashing the Rezize patch by Khaon (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-10/development/mod-reclaim-free-space-partition-t3029605), I was able to successfully flash Gapps pico. Everything seems to be working well so far. I installed xposed and supersu completely fine. Also, the system mode switch is a brilliant idea! Great job PhoenixOS devs.
What version of Android is it? How is it, compared to REMIX OS?

I flashed the Resize patch and Gapps through TWRP recovery. I didn't flash the Recovery that came with PhoenixOS. (Recovery.img)
You might need to reflash a custom recovery through fastboot if you installed the one that came with PhoenixOS.
My experience of PhoenixOS Vs RemixOS
I don't see much information about PhoenixOS anywhere so I thought I would share my experience of running it on my Nexus 10 for a few days.
How did I install it?
- followed the instructions on the website flashing in "Root Mode": http://www.phoenixos.com/help/installation/help-ARM-en1
- Then flashed TMRP custom recovery in fastboot mode, Nexus 10 version
- And SuperSU to obtain root
- Then flashed the resize patch by Khaon (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...ition-t3029605)
- And finally the PICO version of OpenGapps
- Rebooted to the new Phoenis OS and voilà!
I then proceeded to re-install some key apps from the Play Store and started playing with it..
First off, everything works: Wifi, Bluetooth, etc. I don't see a great difference in speed or battery life compared to RemixOS.
The window manager reminds me a lot of KDE (see screenshots attached) while the notification panel, on the right hand side takes it cue from Samsung TouchWiz, i feel - I will let you decide if it is a good thing or not
Overall, the system is robust. I am still going to go back to RemixOS, I think, for one reason. Somehow, the way apps behave in floating windows feel a bit erratic.. Resizing the window does not systematically force the app to reload while other apps seem to reload all the time when not re-sizing.
Also, while it is great that PhoenixOS offers to change the display density (thus resolution), a feature Remix OS doesn't offer, I wonder whether it has an impact on the rendering of apps in window mode and might affect them.
A last point: PhoenixOS provides the ability to change mode to full Android just by clicking an icon: this brings you outside the Desktop mode and into the "normal" Android (5.1) interface. While some people might find this a nice feature, since it is NOT possible to change the default launcher, it feels a little pointless..
So, all in all, for now I think I am going to go back to Remix and I reserve the right to flash PhoenixOS again.
Looking forward to hearing you experience and your views!

Gapps Crashing on Nexus 10

Is it still possible to get this working on a Nexus 10? I follow your steps but as soon as Phoenix OS boots I receive error messages of Google Services crashing.
Thanks!
Hello, I have a new one plus 8 pro and I am rooted. I also have a Galaxy watch and when I install Samsung pay on the watch it says call customer service device has been compromised even though I have magiskhide for all the Samsung modules. Does anyone have any ideas how to get this working?
Thank you in advance...
I have the same problem. Completely stock. So I wonder if it's a Samsung issue. I had the 6t rooted and I was able to use Samsung pay without any problems
Okay, I think I found the answer. In magisk settings, you need to rename the package to something else. It is the third option down in settings. After I change the name it worked like a charm and of course you have to hide the for Samsung modules in magiskhide...

Is this still working for you? It's definitely not working on my end with my Pixel. The newest Magisk Manager also does not allow you to select any apps to hide, it's a simple toggle on or off for Magisk Hide and renaming the Magisk Manager didn't do anything.
Did you have to reboot after the rename?

UPDATED Post : see next post for my solution that worked.
Hi aaronc_98,
Hope this is actually still working for you on your OP8 Pro!
When you say you need to rename the package, what are you referring to exactly?? The Samsung Pay app or Hide the Magisk App (renaming) in App settings?
Please provide more details on a step-by-step process you did to make it work on your OP device...if still working.
I have OP6T and it has stopped working recently and can't find a way to get back.
My setup:
OP6T, OOS 10.3.11
Galaxy Watch 46mm, latest OS installed (Jun 15, 2021)
Galaxy Wear App, SPAY Watch Plugin up to date. (Jun 15, 2021).
Thanking you in advance!

UPDATE,
Got it all to work!
Preparation:
- Install Galaxy Wearable
- Update Watch to the latest
- Install SP Watch Plugin (do not launch it at all)
Magisk Setup:
- Hide the following apps in MagiskHide: Hit the shield, Hit "MagiskHide" and select the apps:
a) Google Play Services
b) Samsung Health
c) SP Watch Plugin
* You can add banking apps here as well

Next, recommend hiding the Magisk App itself for the setup. Here is how to do it:
- Hit "Settings" (within Magisk App)
- Hit "Hide the Magisk App" (I used MGKSettings).
Magisk will accept it and repopulate itself.
For good measure, I rebooted my device to recovery (TWRP in my case) wiped "Dalvik / ART Cache" and rebooted to system.
Once rebooted, go to the SP Watch Plugin App INFO (Do not launch the App), got to Storage & Cache & Clear Storage & Cache (should be 0 on both) for good measure!
Launch Galaxy Wear and (Strongly Recommended) scroll down to setup Samsung Pay and follow the steps. **(I don't recommend doing the SPay setup through the Watch Plugin.)**
If you get a notice within 10 seconds saying that the device is not secure (can't remember the message), you may have missed something and you need to start over with clean install of the SP Watch Plugin (storage & cache cleared).
Worst case they may have updated the Samsung Pay, Samsung Health Apps & OOS and it's been blocked again. Therefore we would need to restart the whole process from scratch or find another workaround.
PS. Some of you would probably like to restore or Un-Hide the Magisk App, so I went ahead and did it....so far SPay seems to be working. I have not reboot my device neither, which I rarely do. (I have rebooted my device several times since this post)
For any reason, in the coming days, there is an issue of any kind, I will report back here. If not, it's all good!
Hopefully this can help some of you out there!
worked for me, thanks a lot
