How about creating different sections for each models? - Galaxy Grand Prime Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, there,
I will received a g531f soon, so i searched a bit about custom rom, i found that it was going to be a game of patience for now, but for sure i found that the forum doesnt make it easy to find information/rom/etc, about the g53Xx(x) you have.
So i was wondering if there was a way we could make it simpler? like sub forum in the dev section for each models, or at least for each that works with each others.
I don't know if it's possible, i'm sorry if i am wrong.
kiss

Looking for fitting rom -->noob

hey guys,
im looking for all roms that would fit for my german o2 htc touch (elfin)
since im not really familiar with flashing my phone's rom id really appreciate your rom-offers i think i speak for the whole community if i request a list of available roms in the forums
additionally, id really love to know what cid etc are, because i dont have a clue whats important to know when im flashing my device.
thank you very much!
Try the forums for your phone instead of here.
SEARCH !!!!
Forum rules forbid to answer you as I want....
There are 2 words which would fit perfectly in this case....
What the HECK!!
This is becoming ridiculous!! You arent actually supposed to post question in this area period. It was created just for Software devs. And even after MODS and Especially the senior members took some sypathy toward ppl like this and started supporting the General PPC Questions thread, some ppl still do this stupid crap.
I understand that someone may have been able to actually search for an app, and not know the name, and therefore, couldn't actually find anything. But when you log on to this section, the very first thing you see , is GENERAL PPC QUESTIONS. I changed it yesterday to make sure there was no confusion about the qustions that could be posted there, and the word ROM was listed specifically.
Please , I am begging you, STOP ANSWERING THREADS LIKE THIS! I understand that alot of you are wanting and ready to help, but the more threads like this that get answered , the more they think they can get by with it. If I create a thread, ask a question, and let you do the work, why would I ever seach again. Oh , If you dont mind, check out the thread on top, and answer any questions you may be able to. Check out the new features to. It takes the work out of it. LOL

Best Stable ROM w / Full Exchange Support

Hello All, I am considering purchasing a MyTouch 3G but need full Exchange Support. Which ROM out there is my best choice? It needs to be stable for day to day use with Bluetooth and WiFi working. Any recommendations would be greatly appriciated. Otherwise, I may end up going with the Touch Pro 2. Thanks.
I use this one, it's superb

Hello All, I am considering if you even tryed to use the search there should plenty of info about this around.
Further more i wonder if you even tryed to read the sticky topic "Please dont start a new thread if something like this happens"
Q- Which ROM is best for me/ Which ROM is the best for 32A/B?
A- Take some time on the forums, look at the ROMs available for your device and individually assess what works for you by reading the various issues affecting them and make a decision. If that still doesn't work out for you, hey, that's what makes XDA great, try a different one and so on, till you find one that YOU'RE happy with. It's very subjective since what my needs are could be totally different from what yours are.
There ya go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555499
Edit: reported for being a noob creating an profile and posting his first question in the wrong category without even reading the rules or trying to make a search on the subject!
Wrong forum section dude, try general instead. Thread has been reported.
MOD EDIT
Moved to general forum. In future please try and post in correct forum.
HINT - For example in your case, ask yourself is your query about themes, software, games, android development etc. No its not, so post in general.
First, sorry about posting in the wrong thread. I thought a question about rom's would go in the rom's forum, guess I was wrong.
Second, I have spent time, a LOT of time, searching the forums regarding which rom to use. I was hoping to get feedback from other people that have been using them in regards to my specific requests - Exchange, WiFi and Bluetooth. Honestly, the forums get really confusing with the multiple names the devices have, the cross device porting and such. It is not a simple task to find a ROM with XYZ. Plus the forums do not always state what does work. I was just looking for some feedback before sinking a couple hundred bucks on a phone. Sorry for being a noob.
_Belial, thank you for your recommendation.

Well i guess many people using xda started to get frustrated and annoyed about how hard it can be to find what you seek. But one of the reasons for it is that things started to get messy cause of to many topics concerning the same problems/solutions.
We all been new around here once and we can all make mistakes so no hard feeling. At least we have some good moderators trying to get things in there right places
i think the question about full exchange support is a valid one.
there are many roms out there that support exchange, but they only support email, not calendar and contacts, and the change log doesn't always reflect this.

Theming Resources? Themers' Input Please

Hey all,
Little late in the game, but I want to start doing my own theming. I searched around many places and found several really good guides on creating and dev'ing themes:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3175518
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4438978
seem to be a couple of the really comprehensive ones.
Got them from the OP in one of our own Hero Themes and Apps sticky post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=588351 which also has some great stuff in it.
My question is....both of those I linked above seem like older posts. Is there anything more current, and perhaps specifically for our Hero, that I should use or be aware of? Or are these still good guides that will work well even now?
Feel free to flame/bash me if I've missed anything obvious out there. Thanks for your input.

Check out my everything android thread in dev section. It has all the tools ull need plus links on how to use them

Where are the online resources?

I know the tab isn't widely availiable to the English speaking population yet, but nevertheless there must already be a place to find things like flashing instructions, tips, development.
Does anyone know where this stuff can be found?

regular developers on XDA didn't get their hand on the tab yet and thats why you dont see the usual dev stuff yet on the fourm
the traffic to this section is also very low and moderators has replied me that this traffic is not sufficient to create the dev sections for the tab
Yes, i understand that about xda... im looking forward to traffic rising, and ill be here when it does.
However, i want to experiment now! So what im asking is whether it can be found elsewhere (at least temporarily).

[Q] Port question

Another noob question (hopefully I'll get enough posts here so I can start asking more indepth questions):
I've seen many themes that say "Port" after them. What does that mean? I'm not having luck finding them in the Q&A sections.
Thanks.
Port is generally used to mean it came from something else, such as porting a theme created on one phone to another, or porting an application from, say, iPhone to Android.
I think Port means to take a theme/ROM developed for one device and make it work for another device.
Ok that makes sense. Thanks.
