Marshmallow is here (with all respect to CM13) - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 General

First, what you do to your phone is your responsibility, etc., etc.
I am not a developer. The work is mostly not mine. A group of folks have been playing with this for a couple weeks over in the General section, and thanks to a great deal of help from others, it is ready to put out there. Hopefully, a developer can polish it and work out the few kinks there are. I will continue to explore and experiment. but this feels like a daily driver at this stage!
1. Gather the files needed as listed in the instructions.
2. I was on the BPA1 modem.
3. I wiped the phone completely. Everything but the micro sd.
4. Install Nameless Rom available at Er. Aditya's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-nameless-mm-lightfastdeodexed-t3363547
5. Install Louforgiveno's Verizon data fix (attached).
6. Install AEL kernel available here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24499762636001208
7. Reboot. It will take 15 minutes or so to finish the boot and may reboot during the process. Be patient. Once the phone boots completely, and you go through setup, it will take a few minutes to establish connection to the network, but it has been solid for me once it does. This occurs each time you boot.
8. Reboot into recovery and flash Chainfire's SU available here (the kernek will wipe it): https://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/
Alternative kernel posted by Kcnycity: H-Vitamin kernel found here http://sharewidget.org/forum_xda-developers/note-4/snapdragon-dev/kernel-h-vitamin-t3364213. I found that I lost brightness control with this kernel on my dev edition, but not my retail. Which raises another point raised by douger1957. I think we had assumed that the dev phones and retail are the same, but the experience has varied across a number of users, so it is a trial and error process for each phone to find the best combination for your device.
ALTERNATIVE ROM: Try Dr. Ketan S7 rom here (for 910G) : http://www.drketanrom.com/n910g.html
Use the H-Vitamn kernel. Looks flawless so far. Network access is faster. And theme engine!
I had forgotten how much fun this can be!
Thanks go to:
Louforgiveno, without whom this would not be happening
Er. Adiytya and his team, who allowed me to use his port
KeTuRr74, who pointed us in the right direction for the data fix
FYI, at least two other roms from the Snapdragon forum will work with this process.
Known issues with this version:
1. Verizon Message Plus works but does not complete the subscription process. (Update: After about 14 hours, Message + has synced).
2. Slow to connect to network

Did you have to install the bootloader/ modem like it's stated in the OP on the ROM page or just the ROM itself followed by the data fix, kernel, and submit update?

It should be noted that there seems to be differences in how the ROMs from the Snapdragon forum behave, depending on whether your phone is a Developer Edition or a converted Retail Edition. It's suspected that there are different bootloaders at play.
Also, try to make sure that you give thanks to louforgiveno and keturr74. Both have been a big help in bridging the gap between Verizon phones and the other Snapdragon variants.

The BPA1 modem has been very successful on this port. I have clocked over 78 mps in a strong location. I have both the Dev edition and an unlocked retail and it has worked on both

Dr Ketan's? I'm going to install that this weekend.
I messed with this a bit last weekend with Keturr's ROM. louforgiveno's data fix came in too late in the weekend and I had to recover to Jasmine. Everything I got to try with Keturr's ROM worked, other than data.
For what it's worth... for those who feel married to TouchWiz because of S Note, it's now available in the Play Store.

I couldn't get data or signal to stay at all. And when I went to add my Google account, it would completely shut the phone off. Had to restore back to a previous twrp restore to fix anything. And that was on a clean install.

I tried the method in the OP but with the kernel the phone rebooted itself 3 times navigating the playstore and the nameless control panel so i wiped it and flashed H-Vitamin kernel and its been working flawlessly.

I got it working but does this not having theming? Are there any with theming and screen mirroring support?

I thought MM was coming to 910V but it wasn't what I expected XD
Title is kinda misleading

Marshmallow is coming to the N910V. But when? If you want Marshmallow now and not on Verizon's schedule, this is how you do it. I didn't see anything misleading. This is posted in the Development thread and not in General, where you'd expect to see an announcement about official Marshmallow.
The OP and others did quite a bit of work to bring TouchWiz Marshmallow options to our phones. To them, I extend my thanks.

Interesting I was getting a ton of reboots launching apps too I might have to try this.
Does anyone know what other MM roms work? I was looking for one with the theme engine.

So can we flash the kernel on any aosp based rom like cm13? I'm almost positive we can but want to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Also as a side note after you flash the H-Vitamin kernel it will overwrite root access simply reboot into recovery after you go through the first boot up setup and flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46 and you will have root back.

Thanks for notifying, now about the locked bootloader, got any where on that? is it the same as the AT&T s4? confirming if recoveries, kernels can be flashed. Also do you have a recovery.img available? (so I can build cwm and twrp)

Hey Guys,
Here is an extracted boot.img, recovery.img, and sboot.bin from the I467UCAMF1 firmware... they have since updated to I467UCAMF2 OTA via AT&T, but it might be worth still looking into making a root/recovery for the MF1 version or possibly seeing if it will also work on MF2 or if it is possible to downgrade via ODIN.

Hi DanMc85,
Have you already root your i467? I'm about to buy one today but would like to know if we will see some new ROMS from XDA, etc. Could you confirm to me that your i467 is LTE like Canadians one?
Thanks,
JmCourir.
RIP
Nobody made a custom recovery or ROM for this device. Rest in Pieces Note 8.0.
Bricked it, Reflashed JB, Bricked it, Reflashed JB, Updated to kitkat, Tried to reflash JB, failed.
:crying: RIP :crying:
I know this is an old thread, but I just can't let go of this tablet! I need a tablet that is not too big or too small so that I can take notes with it. A 10" tablet gets heavy in your hand after a while. Further, very few tablets come with a built-in stylus. If I have to carry an extra stylus, I would either forget or lose it. In fact, I read a 2017 report that Note 8.0 is considered one of the best tablets for note taking! Enough promotion for this aging (4-year-old) device. Now the reality...
Until anyone comes up with a bootloader exploit, the SGH-I467 (AT&T version)'s obituary is essentially written. Yes, you can root it with KingoRoot. Since it's one-click, it cannot get simpler. However, if you can't bypass the bootloader, you are stuck with 4.4.2.
However, the Canadian version (SGH-I467M) has an unlocked bootloader. If anyone would just port a kernel for this tablet, it would give this one many more years of life. Even with the GT-N5120 Lineage OS 14.1 ROM and Boeffla kernel, I can get LTE connection and Nougat out of the box. Light sensor and MIC are still broken, which is expected since this is N5120's kernel. N5120 has two MICs and proximity sensor while I467M has only one MIC and no proximity sensor. I assume N5120's kernel on an I467M would be looking for the wrong MIC and there is some correlations between the proximity and light sensors. Bluetooth is also broken. I don't have explanation for it. I can't explain either why Boeffla kernel would enable the LTE connection since the European radio bands are different than the North American ones. I'm happy it's fixed though! The native kernel from the 14.1 Lineage OS can never establish the radio link though it does see the SIM and IMEI. (The 13.0 LOS cannot detect the IMEI and SIM at all and Boeffla in this case cannot fix it either.)
I am not a developer, but if anyone is willing to port a kernel for SGH-I467M to work with LOS 14.1, I'd be happy to be your beta tester. Thank you

SGH-I467 (NOT I467M, the Canadian version) has a locked bootloader. Once it is upgraded to KitKat, you cannot go back to JB! When I used to hack SGH-I467, I downloaded the -AMF1 firmware (the only one in circulation), thinking if anything went wrong, I could always re-flash with this official firmware. Boy, I learned my lesson when I bricked it. Since mine already had Kitkat, this official JB firmware in circulation is useless. I almost sold it for parts until I came across someone on eBay offering the KitKat firmware!

It's funny Samsung released the kernel source code for a tablet with a locked bootloader. What can you do with it? I think they are doing it for the sake of fulfilling their open source obligation.
On the other hand, if SGH-I467 and SGH-I467M share very similar kernel, I can imagine someone can port it for SGH-I467M. I am actively looking for a kernel for the Canadian version, I467M, to extend the life of my Note 8.0
I have both I467 and GT-N5110, and are both on the latest 4.4.2 introduced last year about this time.
I am not a dev, but since owning the two devices, i have modded my tablets to be nearly identical. The GT-N5110 has Boeffla kernel and the I467 is stock.
Both run circles around any developed ROM, as for 10 hours of use on battery and no issues, plus mods from S5, Tab 4 and wee mods never released in any developed firmwares to complete a full featured gallery, and allow color blind, interactive control and grey scale mode.
It took messing with 5 different roms and combining missing systrm files for adding hidden features in stock framework and touch wiz.
Only needed a wee mod to remove the few stage fright mp4 issues to button up left over security issues.

[XT1022 Indian][TWRP backup] Android Lollipop 5.1 stock

Many people were asking for the TWRP backup of the unmodified system and boot partitions of the Indian stock lollipop 5.1 Motorola ROM. Here I uploaded the untouched system and boot partition backups of the stock ROM.
The backup was made using latest TWRP 2.8.7 for condor so the same recovery is recommended for restoring the backup.
How to restore:
Download the RAR file and extract it to your computer.
Copy the TWRP folder to the root of your internal storage.
Reboot into TWRP and tap "Restore".
Choose the backup and restore both system and boot.
Wipe cache, data and dalvik.
Reboot into system.
First boot takes a lot of time so be patient.

Bugs elaborated above. Well, we waited enough. They have been soak testing lollipop for the past 6 months. This has been the longest test ever. It doesn't really take this much time. It hardly takes 2-3 weeks generally. But I guess Motorola developers are really lazy or I don't know what they are. For instance look at our custom ROM developers, they are fixing things day and night sacrificing their free time. They aren't getting anything in return yet they are so fast and I bet we will have Android Milkshake even before Motorola thinks of it for its products. It's high time and we are not going to keep anything "confidential". I mean its funny, are they putting their personal bedroom pics with their wives in the OTAs that we are supposed to "hide" them from the world?! Wipe system, cache, data, dalvik, format internal (optional) and then restore the backup and reboot into system, thats it.
I have tried high bitrate videos too. If they lag, I use BSPlayer. It has its own hardware decoding engine and it works better than stock decoder.

SIM related problems like vanishing of E and H symbols and vanishing of data enabling option (can only be fixed by rebooting but problem starts after a few minutes again), 1080p videos not supported by the kernel anymore (c'mon Moto, its not gonna burn the processor!), applocks not working (this indicates that there's something seriously wrong with this ROM because it indicates that problems can arise with apps which work in a similar way to applocks), etc.
Same here bro, I am giving up on stock, custom ROMs is the only option for us. I won't go back to stock unless the above mentioned problems are fixed. No problem bro
It's high time and we are not going to keep anything "confidential". thanks for the reply.
i would request you to suggest a lollipop rom with ability to support gravitybox network mode selection (2g only, 3g only).
I use Bsnl in sim 1 and Aircel in sim 2 .
Aircel is mostly used for data and I use data on Bsnl only where Aircel network isn't available.
does KitKat and above don't support default 3g only/2g only settings or is it Motorola who hasn't modified the settings ?
i have used 2.3.6,4.1,4.0.4 and on these 3g only,2g only options are present, though the phones I used weren't moto.
during traveling and in my home the 3g only/2g only options are a must for me.
you had only told me about gravitybox network mode (by commenting on my thread in Q/A section a few months ago).
I tried aicp but after choosing options in gravitybox I got bootloop.
I tried pure aosp but before me installing xposed, that rom was buggy so left it.
so I'm on stock 4.4.4 from the beginning and like the material design of lollipop.
P.S :- I think that E and H vanishing issue even I was facing after installing soak 5.0.2 .
does this 5.1 soak shows sim name/number below each sms so as to differentiate to which sim the message arrived (pure aosp wasn't showing that).

UGH,
I just forgot to mention that I already know this.
this only works for sim 1.
I want 2g only, 3g only for both sim 1 and sim 2 .
every time I ask this question I get the above reply only.
swapping sim cards is also not a feasible solution every time.
so I using gravitybox network mode.

Solution for Redmi Note 3 Volte issue

http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=402767&mobile=2
A little backgroud:Like most of the users of Redmi Note 3,I have been at wits end to get volte working on the recent versions of global developer rom.Post 6.9.22 I wasn't able to use volte and since the feature was essential to me,I would revert back to 6.9.22 global developer rom.
Soultion:Here is an easy way that would help you guys to get volte up and running on the recent versions of MIUI.I backed up my 6.9.22 rom using TWRP ZCX,since I had volte working on it.I installed the version 6.10.27(since it was on my laptop, tested on 6.11.3 as well..screenshot enclosed)using TWRP ZCX,then restored the modem and efs from 6.9.22 that I had backed up.Volte is up and running. No issues so far. Will update this if I face any issues.
Result so far:Volte is working flawlessly on 6.11.3.In fact it is better than in 6.9.22,where you had to delete the APN to get volte. Also no issue of data being on at the time of volte, like it was in some earlier builds.Posting a screenshot as well.
Anyway to install 6.11.3 using twrp ??
i havnt faced any volte issue, m always on latest beta.

I will recommend TWRP ZCX as I have tried it multiple times. Most recently I flashed 6.11.3 yesterday. On TWRP alka I got a soft brick. So I can't say if TWRP will work properly.

There is a minority of people on MIUI forums also who say what you are saying.I have even tried clean flashing on my device, but it doesn't work.As I said you are the lucky few.For the rest of us it has been 6.9.22 all the way.At least till yesterday.Hopefully the developers will find a permanent fix.I am not complaining as the fix I posted yesterday is working flawlessly.

anyways i barely use miui forum so no idea about it, and builds are perfectly fine because we all downlods frm same servers, issue may be device specific or may b large batch of devices are affected frm it, btw global beta releases for RN3 qualcom were suspended after 6.10.13 bcoz few major bugs have been reported on few of the devices, may be you r one of them.

I myself suspect the same.Maybe some differences in device hardware.Global dev 6.11.3 has been released yesterday for Redmi Note 3 after being suspended for a few weeks.I was on 6.9.22 and initially downloaded the ota zip and dirty flashed it.Lost volte. Then reverted to 6.9.22 and decided to do something.lol.Can you tell me which version you last used fast boot ROM of?Just curious.I just yesterday saw a mod telling a poster that volte is working fine on beta 6.9.22 and global stable 8.0.6(haven't tried that..tried 8.0.5 but volte wasn't working). They are well aware of the issue. That confirms that there is one.
PS:Also if you dirty flash to 6.11.3,please do post your experience here.Whether volte works normally.

as i can see in screenshot above, you are using 2 gb variant, and i use 3gb variant, we are on different soc so it quite obivous that we will have different experiences. i still wonder wat kind of problem you are talking about because i never suspected anything like that.. i flashed 6.8.x as a last fastboot rom, afterwards i do dirty flashes, i used boot image patcher previously but nw i do it with zcx twrp. and 6.9.22 was quite stable build for me.. i didnt noticed any bug in anything. i hv jst flashed 6.11.3, its booted up, and seems fine to me as well.
Edit: Everytime i flash beta builds, i need to flash super su, xposed, few mod zips as well... and i have toremove bloatwares and few xiaomi core apps too everytime.. after all these efforts the rom becomes so smooth and fast to play with.

I didn't know you have a 3Gb variant. One thing is clear to me now that there is a definite issue with certain devices and I own one of them.As is evident we have a slightly different hardware configuration. But thankfully not a big deal now as I have it working flawlessly and xiaomi can take its own sweet time.Enjoy the new update.

Android Nougat [7.1] available for all Snapdragon variant Note 4

Guys, Android Nougat 7.1 is now available for all Snapdragon variant Galaxy Note 4s (which of-course include N910P Sprint variant) and as a result, I'm sharing here the link of the thread from where you can get an insight about the latest development of the ROM & other things.
The link is :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/development/cyanogenmod-14-1-t3495231
Kindly thank & support @hsbadr for all his hard work & time devotion for the ROM.
(I'm in no way to be associated with this ROM as this is solely the work of @hsbadr. All the credit goes to him for it).
The ROM works quite well on unlocked variant of N910P model with a GSM SIM Card.
Users on a Sprint network need to check about the feasibility of the ROM.
If anyone is interested in trying out the ROM, then kindly thanks @hsbadr & have a look at the below mentioned steps that I took to make it work on my N910P model using a GSM SIM Card.
1. This ROM even works on newest PJ1 bootloader & baseband. So, you can try it out without worries if you have taken the latest OTA update.
2. Perform a full nandroid backup of the current ROM.
3. Wipe all the partitions 3 times (except Micro SD Card) using latest TWRP recovery.
4. Download the ROM, GApps & Boot.img from the above thread mentioned & flash it in the following order:
a. ROM
b. GApps
c. Boot.img
5. Wait for the ROM to boot (it may take upto 15-20 minutes to boot, so be patient).
6. Complete the setup.
7. Enjoy Nougat on your device. :good:
Bug(s) that I've encountered:
1. YouTube videos have no sound on Bluetooth headset/plugs.
Kindly keep all the discussions related to N910P variant on this thread only so as to keep that thread clean.
The ROM is primarily meant for Verizon variant but works well with other variants too.
Will def have to check this out, Thanks!

I'm using this ROM. The boot.img is not necessary to flash. Just flash the ROM and gapps like any other CM variant. I use sprint and had to fiddle with the *#*#4636#*#* menu for data/SMS to work and have to toggle airplane after a reboot but for an early build it's great. Battery has been wonderful. Other than the mentioned streaming issue (issue isn't present when streaming over Bluetooth) I've only run into GPS being fickle.

For me, the audio did not work with or without a Bluetooth headset.
Now, I'm not able to place any call (without any Bluetooth device) even when there is good network.
Also, Couldn't hear any voice even on Chrome, but yes, for an early build, the work is definitely amazing by the developer.

However, you'll have to dig internet a bit to make them work accordingly.

I downloaded the Verizon variant & not the T-Mobile variant (Though I'm using a GSM SIM). So, you can try Verizon or the T-Mobile as the ROM is basically all-variant one.

The build is unified, naming is just set to Verizon on everything. Device will show as N910V instead of P but that's fixable in build.prop. I haven't updated to the latest build, still using the trlte myself as daily driver.

Thanks, I finally seen that info in change log. But from what I've read in last few post, it looks like latest build has some extra bugs. So i think I'll try the trlte build for now.
That's what i took from it anyhow.
Does it matter which gapps i use? (Eg. Aroma, full, micro?)
I'm heading to work, so when i get more time I'll try, and maybe try root and exposed.

Don't believe xposed works on 7.1 yet, root hasn't been an issue at all for me. I did flash supersu 2.78 though instead of using the cm root. For gapps I used the micro since it was small to avoid conflicts but still had exchange included.
Not sure if it effects just the N910P model or not, but trying to access any .webm files crashes the entire phone. I can't even open the gallery up or it crashes.

What is a webm file? I'll test on mine if I can get one.
I just got around to installing. Anyone else having problems using root with default file manager? I can't open any thing but internal. But fx file works with root.
So it must be file manager
I downloaded the CM 14.1 and it works fine but I couldn't download gapps from github because for me this site downloads don't work.
So I didn't test a lot of things just make some calls (CDMA Carrier) and take some tour in system settings then I returned to Touchwiz rom again.

Are their any 7.0 Nougat roms available for the Verizon Note 3

I noticed that other versions of the note 3 have roms which run android 7.0, but I have not been able to find any which support the verizon version. are there any available for the Verizon Note 3?
Not touchwiz, I thought I saw aosp cyan type Rom some where but it wasn't for cdma model as far as I know

While you are correct for using an hlte recovery (they merged device support) most ROMs/update packages have a check for the model at the very beginning of the updater-script. You can manually edit the ROM package to remove that check or just temporarily use an hltevzw recovery.

I'm coming from 6.0.1, OF1 baseband N900V, and I don't use Verizon network\LTE, but GSM HSDPA.

I downloaded this rom and installed it on my Verizon note 3, I currently had 5.0 of1 installed with a jasmine rom, wanted to try this...downloaded to my SD card , booted to twrp recovery, did a full wipe and installed this rom and gapps, everything was working good except it didn't recognize my Sim card, even pulled the battery and Sim and tried reinsert it, still said no mobile network found...any ideas? I am on Verizon network..
Never mind, I think it was because I didn't have the hltevzw twrp installed
