Wifi turning itself on - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

When I switch my wifi off at night with phone on charge, it turns itself on
Same if I have data on, I'll later see its switched to wifi (I have smart switch turned off)
Can anyone shed some light on this?

I'm having the same problem on the Sprint S7 edge, software version G935PVPU2APC5...mine seems to turn wifi on for no reason. Smart network switch is off here too. Frustrating when you don't want to connect to certain wifi spots.

I can't understand this behaviour. I also find when I get home my Bluetooth turns off!

Funny I have been doubting myself many times thinking a forgot turning off my data at night. Getting angry at myself when I happen to be awake in the middle of the night after receiving some sort of notification.
I started setting silent mode lol
Strange behavior indeed!

I think my issue is relating to this. My UK S7 edge keeps changing to vibrate mode, but only when I have it on sound mode and not mute. Annoying when your'e asleep and a notification vibration wakes you up. Hopefully an update will sort this annoying bug quickly.

Found the solution (for me at least)

[ISSUE] Galaxy Note 3 [ISSUE]

Look at the screenshot, for some reason, the battery usage I dicates that I've been using Wi-Fi but I have it disabled. Also, it says my device isn't awake in the usage...
My battery seems to drain much too when nothing is running and I have every feature disabled such as sync and gestures...
Please give me feedback/solutions about this and share to me what you think, thanks!
Have you tried turning it off and on again? Stupid thing but you never know.

Yes I have... It doesn't solve anything for me and ever after doing the update it still has the same issues...
WiFi->advanced->untick scanning always available.

Wifi and data switch off randomly.

Have noticed about once a day at random times, my wifi and data signal will disappear when using the phone. I have to switch airplane mode on and back off to get my connections back. Not a major Issue, but slightly annoying.
Anyone else have this problem or know the cause?

I'm having an issue where my wifi icon disappears but I'm still connected to wifi. Also, the toggle is grayed out. Pretty annoying. I'm on the Sprint GS5.

The toggle is greyed out on mine too and cannot switch it back on. The only difference is that I loose wifi and network connection. Mine is o2 UK unbranded handset.
Update: my connections are still active when this happens.

I'm getting the same thing here, the data and wifi icons occasionally disappear and the wifi toggle goes dark (as if it's not connected), but I'm still connected and get data just fine.
Do you reckon this is a hardware or software fault?

I did install adblock (unrooted) for about 30 minutes and then removed it when I first got my phone. Not sure if the problem started before or after.

Its not problem adaway. I test it.
Would be nice to find out the reason why this is happening.

It didn't happen yesterday so will wait for next samsung update and see if that solves the problem. Unless it gets worse then I will factory reset.
update : shortly after I posted this it happened again so I tested the connection and I was still connected to wifi.

No, I stopped looking as I think they only work properly if your rooted.

WiFi shutting off

I have the Pure and I am running the leaked soak for MM and ever since I installed it my WiFi works great until I leave wherever I am. If I am at home my WiFi works perfect until I leave the house and come back home. When o get back home my WiFi has shut itself off and I have to turn it back on. This NEVER happens before. Is there something I am missing?

Am I the only one having this problem?

I'm still on lp, but haven't seen anyone mention that yet. I'm guessing you tried resetting connection?

Yes, it still does this. There has to be something I am missing.

Only thing I see it take little longer to connect to WiFi. Otherwise never had this issue you describe.

Hopefully one MM officially drops this issue will stop for me.

Happens to me overnight. I had a similar thing happen on my m8 but it was being caused by my overnight backup using TiBu. I haven't really looked into on the MXPE.

Wi-Fi turning on by itself after turning it off, over and over

Seriously frustrating.
I read somewhere that it is the connection optimizer but I cannot find it for the life of me, it's been weeks now.
Yes it's been updated. No I'm not rooted yet.
Sent from my SM-G935T using XDA-Developers mobile app
I have seen this behavior too. At first I thought it was my Droid Automation triggering incorrectly, but I disabled that and I still had the Wi-Fi turn on.

is it turning on Wi-Fi or is it Wi-Fi scanning? On your gps settings, Wi-Fi scanning is turned on by default under improve accuracy. Try that

Did you guys try checking the T-Mobile app? I think it's the network connection manager or something like that.
My girlfriend had that on her S6. I disabled all of that for her (she isn't rooted though) and she hasn't had a problem since.
On the other hand, I've never experienced the issue for some reason.

[Q] 4G Logo Flickering

Hello,
I noticed this issue a few days ago. Whenever I am hooked on Wi-FI my 4G logo keeps flickering. What is worse, I think this causes huge battery drain, because my Cell Standby is on 40%.
Attached you can see a GIF with the issue. It's not mine because I don't know how to make one, just found it in another tread. Also I am not on AT&T (and the USA).
Smart WI-Fi Switch is Turned Off, as well as Download Boaster.
Any ideas what could be the cause of the issue and how to fix it?

Nope, my Wi-Fi is very good. But anyway the issue is constant everywhere I use Wi-Fi, not just with my home router.
Maby wipe cach in stock recovery and try, or check youre settings

Yes of course, but that's not a solution, just a workaround.

So that means that it probably has something to do with either your WiFi, or a faulty component.

My WiFi is working fine. I wrote a mail to Samsung Support to see what they have to say about it.
