I just got my Nexus one, but I cant start it it just keep rebooting when the four colord logo appears. I have tried to clear the storage but no luck. Really need som serious help here!
Thanks/ Viiddee
had the same problem. went back to recovery mode and used 'wipe' for all partitions (earlier i had done it only for the first on the list).
reinstalled CM from the SD card and all was well this time.
hope this helps you.
Yes krumbs is right you need to do a wipe upfront flashing the rom.
Without I also had the booting loop.
Maybe therefore in the installation instructions there's the point do a wipe ;-)
Sometimes we should read a little better, to prevent such problems.
Did you flash a rom? Or it's looping out of the box?

it looped out of the box.. and since i am new with android i need some help with this recovery wipe thing!? I got into fastboot mode and found recovery but when i did that i just got the android logo with a ! . And since it was like this out of the box I dont feel like try rooting it..
Oh didn't notice that you wrote that this booting loop is right out of box...
Let them change it, that's what I would do in that case.
yes it was.. the thing is that i live in sweden and it will cost me alot if i have to send it back.. so is there anything eles I can try? If I unlock the bootloader can reverse the unlock so that the warranty still works?
thanks in advance/ V
No, you can't relock the bootloader. Turn off the phone... restart by holding the volume down key. Scroll down to wipe/factory reset and hit power to confirm. Should reboot automatically. If this doesn't work, you have no choice but to get it replaced. HTC normally pays for the shipping... and since this is Dead on Arrival, they shouldn't have a problem sending you a new phone.

My LG got bricked after OTA update. After it got bricked I use to see LG logo then certification error but few hours later the phone was like complete dead. It won't even power on, no black screen or lg logo. I connected it to charger overnight but it is not even getting charge. When i connect it to PC it says USB Not recognized.
PLEASE HELP me out. My device was just a day old
Was the device rooted with custom recovery ?
If not -
Code:
hold power + volume down ---- wait for lg logo - release SHORTLY and keep holding volume down + power again..then proceed with the reset.
If the combination does nothing try this one:
Code:
hold power + volume down ---- wait for lg logo - release SHORTLY and hold volume up + volume down..then proceed with the reset..
If this doesn't help then:
hold volume up and connect to pc, download your kdz, flash it.
If there are some other issues share them here to receive further help.

I see the "hd2" in your name. If you remember(if the hd2 == htc hd2) the magldr you know you can't charge while the device is off.
I think you didn't charge at all.
Well I can't know really, you can try to replace the battery and see what's happening. They might replace it. How did you brick it ? You didn't answer was it ordinary ota or custom recovery + ota. They might replace it if it was ordinary ota.

I think OTA + custom recovery as one of my friend said who has knowledge about this. He said the error ( certification error) which i was getting after the phone got bricked was coz of OTA + custom recovery
Well you should know is the phone brand new, did it have TWRP etc ? :/
it's weird..phones don't get rooted and with custom recovery preinstalled without user knowledge (hm..not lg phones)

I bought it from friend who rooted the phone and gave to me.
BTW i have mailed LG US and they told me to ship the unit to them.
Do they at least repair the device in paid service if they reject under warranty as it is brick (on rooted phone)
I am worried if I ship the unit and they reject it as it is rooted phone. Just want to know will they replace the motherboard in paid service so that my device will be live again.
Depends where you are from. Some say that the rooted status in EU doesn't void warranty (didn't try...)

Okay. i will give a try by replacing my battery with my friend's one.
But tell me what process should i do after that coz if it again drains fast it will be a problem.
btw my battery is still in good condition right ? it only need to be charged on phone which is not bricked
If the battery was fine before the bricking then it's also fine now.
Well, for start try entering custom recovery again.
And see the error, see if you can "fastboot devices", if it finds the phone.

I was getting Certification error when i tried putting it on recovery mode earlier when device has battery.
And it was not even going on Download mode. It was just stuck on black screen after that certification error.
Try charging your battery while his battery is in your phone (put your battery in his phone) or however you like.
Then we try to figure something out
Try ubuntu to flash twrp

Hello.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500. Recently, it received a software update via OTA, and I proceeded to update it, but then it went into a infinite bootloop. I bought a USB Jig Download Mode, because it did allow me to enter into Download Mode, but now I can't use odin, because even in Download mode it keeps restarting. I tried a different battery and it continues doing the same.
I hope someone can help me.
I post a video to show you what it does.

No, I'm not able to enter recovery. The key combination does not work.
If you have stock rom and your device has still some warranty period left, you can try taking your phone to a nearby service centre.
Wiping from the recovery is absolutely pointless, because it also reboots in download mode.
My guess is that it has nothing to do with the ota update but you just got bad luck.
In 9/10 cases this is a faulty power button. That's why it keeps rebooting. You have to send it in for warranty or you have to replace it yourself. The part only costs about 5 euro's so it's not expensive.

Hi Everyone!
I use a SM-G900F. I havent even rooted my phone.
I bought it less than 6 months ago! So its still sort of under warranty.
This happened right after i flew into LA. So i dont think i can take it to the service here., its very unnoying when something like this happens in the beginning of a 3 months trip.
I cant start the phone at all, non of the charging lights work. When i try to open it in factory reset mode it gives an error -data not found-.
I use a Mac, does anyone know if there is a way to fix it without taking it to the Samsung Store?
I will never ever buy Samsung again!
Thanks a billion in advance!
Are you able to go into download mode by holding volume down+home key+ power? If so, you can try using Odin.

Thanks a lot for the response.
I do, but my attempts to recover the phone with Kies did not work, it gets stuck every time, and the strange thing is that Kies doesnt even give me a recovery code. I will try Odin while trying not to void the warranty.
Hi all,
I've received my S7 Edge today(Exynos), yay.
All was working flawlessly until few moments ago, I was running 3Dmark, and before I even start to bench, while i was downloading the first scene The screen goes all black, then after 10 seconds, there's a message on top (in the same way a rooted phone would display "kernel is not seandroid enforced..."):
Bootloader Exception
[RST_START = 0x100000000 ]
[...]
Exception: do_handler_serror: SERROR(esr: 0xbf00000000)
[...]
I didn't install any rom, root or else, it's pure stock untouched. I tried to reboot phone using volume down+power, it reboots I think (screen goes all black) but quickly the same message appears...
I'm surely going to call phone operator to tell them that phone is KO, but if one of you guys has any idea that would avoid me to send back phone to warranty, it would be nice
Thanks !
@mods : Sorry for posting in wrong section
Try this...

I'd suggest a factory reset if the above fails.
Hold Power + Volume Up + Menu
Then use the volume keys to scroll to factory reset and select using menu or power buttons.
Hi guys,
Thanks very much for you answers,
Unfortunately any key combination is not working can't get into recovery nor download mode ...
I don't want to try Odin, scared about potential warranty issues ... but it kills me to have to send the phone back to sammy and wait ..

The phone must be off for the Volume Up + Power + Home button combination to work. Keep those pressed for like 10 seconds, even after the phone powers on. I just tried it on my S7 Edge (which drops every call) and could restore to factory settings (but didn't solve the issue).

Thanks for your advices !
Unfortunately, even with this combination and a lot of patience I cannot manage to "bypass" this Bootloader error ...
I'm mad because it will take one month to get a new phone from my operator(just called them ...)
So maybe i'm going to try Odin ... but if I cannot put my phone into download mode, i'm f*ckued, right ?

Nope, the phone doesn't boot anymore... it only displays the bootloader error message...
And no possibility to access reboot or recovery...
Maybe I can try to check with ADB, but my problem is that i would need to active USB debugging in settings ... but i can't do that

Yep, I wanted to avoid it, but I don't see other reasonnable option. The phone didn't last more than 24h ... ok, it happens, I know ...
My previous (Still actual (sic)) Phone was a Note 3 and I installed so much roms, soft bricked the device so many times, but I could always restore it ... But not the S7 EDGE ... And I didn't spot any other user with same bootloader issue...
I've just sent back the phone for replacement, Thanks for all who replied to me in this thread
Oh and by the way : don't download 3DMark from play store , it will Hard brick your phone !!! (haha just kidding , i know it's not what caused my phone to die, I'm sure of it , however I won't try to install it anymore i think^^ )
Cheers XDA crew !!

Sorry to hear that bro
Try things to troubleshoot if you wanna, but my advice : don't lose one day of trying to fix it, send it back directly to warranty...
I tried lot of things, key combination to reboot phone in recovery or download, I tried Kies, Odin, ADB....
I believe it's a real samsung bug that will happen to many people, So send it now before sammy is drowned under hard bricked S7 phones and start to have issues to provide replacement devices....
the S7 edge is getting a "urgent" update on approx 3mb..maybe this is a fix of some sort.

That is to correct the Screen Edge sensitivity
For anyone else who runs into this issue, I managed to fix my phone.
Holding the power and VOL down buttons for about 5-10 seconds will reboot the phone; if you hold home at the same time you can get into download mode (might take a couple tries).
From there, you can flash a new bootloader (BL option in odin) and then get back into recovery to do whatever you need to do.
Went from soft-brick to full restore in about ten minutes--not even a factory reset necessary.
Hope this helps!
