So I rooted and flashed twrp, and tried several ROMs but I'm not really happy with them. Is there anyway I can flash an official firmware and keep TWRP?
I'm mostly interested in that because if I have to install the recovery all over again I'll have to completely wipe my phone in order for TWRP to be fully functional, and I would rather avoid that.
You can try flashfire

Use the search bar, there are TWRP backups of stock brazillian 5.0.2 ROM.
If you wan't exactly the DE rom better download it and flash it, then flash TRWP and you're done.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately the 5.0.2 DE firmware image is not available yet, and I don't really want to flash the brazialian firmware or downgrade to the 4.4.4 DE to upgrade again (due to all the hard brick reports). I was asking for the TWRP SYSTEM backup because I've accidentally deleted the one I've taken just after the lollipop OTA, and now I can't revert to a totally clean ROM (I've installed xposed and a bunch of other stuffs).
Hello,
I hope it hasn't been answered thousand times already, but with a quick look i can only see the go as stock as it gets way
So, two questions. I have a Cloudy 3.3 5.0.2 backup, but i have installed 5.1.1 CAF roms with loki-ed bootstack (and for other roms, the bumped one) and if i restore the Cloudy backup, i just get an instant view of the LG logo and then a black screen (back-lighted)
a) What is the quickest way to go back to "stock" 5.0.2 roms (eg. Cloudy)?
b) What is the quickest way to go back to "stock" 4.4.2 roms (eg OptimusG3 1.4.1)?
Thanks in advance
BUMP. No one knows?

The quickest way is probably to downgrade using autorec and then flash the custom stock rom you want, or to flash the right bootloader and bootstack.
Ofcourse before you do this double check or it's for your g2 variant or not else you might brick it. I suggest to stay with or the kitkat or the lollipop roms without changing the whole time as you could brick it and you must always wipe data again etc.
Normally going back to stock ofc with download mode flashing. I hope your question is answered

Thank you my friend. Autorec did the job perfectly (5.1.1 -> 5.0.2) Now let's find the way for 4.4.2 ( i don't mind if i delete everything of course)
Hi all,
Noobie questions sorry.
I have a xt1625 us retail version and I'm getting prompted to take the OTA nougat update.
However, I have unlocked bootloader and TWRP installed so it fails.
1) Is the stock nougat available as a zip?
2) Is my best option to relock bootloader and go back to stock recovery, in order to take the OTA?
3)Is there a stable custom rom that is preferable?
Thanks very much
update;
I reflashed the stock firmware using fastboot and the 16 ish commands needed.
After this I took the OTA update without issues.
You can re root your phone and reinstall twrp now.

Yes. bootloader remains unlocked, so I can root later.
for now I am satisfied, stock rom isn't too bloaty
Hi, first of all, sorry if I mistype anything, as English is not my main language.
I usually try to find my answers in others posts, as I have installed custom ROMs and recoveries on other phones before (Nexus 4, Moto X 2014), but this time I couldn't find anything for my situation.
I recently imported an Axon 7 from Singapore, everything on the box is in Chinese, but when I booted the phone, the version showing on the settings is the A2017G, build number A2017GV1.0.0B10.
I tried to update from the settings to Android Nougat, but it says it is up to date.
Out of curiosity I restarted the phone holding power + vol up and booted the recovery, and it is all in Chinese.
I think the seller probably installed the A2017G Rom.
So now I don't know which guides should I follow to update my phone, I just want to have stock nougat and TWRP for precaution.
Should I just follow this one https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-install-twrp-unlock-bl-flash-t3517379.
Or this https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-how-to-unlock-bootloader-stay-t3461165.
Or just download an imagem from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/download-center-factory-images-ota-t3606547.
I'm currently at work, so I won't be able to try anything right now, but any direction to what to do will be of great help.
And I didn't put my sim card there yet to see if the network works in my country, I'm from Brazil.
the first one.
do steps a then b.
dont do the c steps.
then reflash stock recovery, update to nougat, with stock rom, then reboot the phone in edl and reflash twrp 3.1 with axon-tool.
you will have stock with twrp
thanks for the reply.
I will try as soon as I can.
:good:

Yes sr.
You must unlock in b11 or older.
Then upgrade to b04, you must reflash stock recovery from edl or twrp. After that upgrade.
Then go back to edl and reflash twrp.
Note that for first unlock you have to flash the signed buggy twrp, and after unlock, you must flash 3.1 to have a working twrp.
