Is there any way to get rid of this restriction with the zip files and other files as well.

Hi,
I don't know of a native method of removing that restriction, but the free app Byte Tornado downloader integrates with the browser and allows almost any file to download directly to the phone.
I hope that helps.

download Astro from the market or appbrain then you can download zip files and extract the apk files from the zip. It's also a great utility app to manage files and backup applications.
I use opera browser to download files. It how's never given me any problems.

Sadly the stock browser restricts a lot of downloads: .zips (and many .apk's if not all).
Probably there to "protect" itself.
But any third party web browser
(Dolphin HD or Opera) can do those kinds of files.
That is if you don't wish to use a download manager app.
Hope this helped someone!
Can someone please post the samsung watch on apk for me it would be much appreciated

Go to the "Android development" section of the sprint gs4 and all the apps are on the first page of the "force rom".

Flash the Google-Apps then use Play Store to install Facebook. Google Maps is a part of the GApps.
other app store
Try downloading the .apk file from the internet ex. Facebook.apk or try other app store like apptoide or amazon store

I'd avoid random websites that host apps. Amazon Appstore is really good, though, if you don't want to use GApps packages.
Perhaps installing gapps first then extracting the apk

Does anyone know why the Google Maps APK files for version 7.7 and above no longer can be installed on the HDX? I'm using ES File Explorer (latest version 3.1.3) to do the install and I get:
Parse Error
There was an error parsing the package.
Funny thing is the same package can be installed using the same app on my GS3. Is there an OS or Play Service dependency?

noticed that too - it's because of the missing google play services, but at least you can downgrade to youtube 5.3.28 and it will work again.
You can find the latest APK's for play services here http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...me-services-update-wallet-fragments-and-more/
