Hi All,
could you please help in figuring out on how to change the navbar width after the DPI is changed to 420.. with the previous DPI I was able to press the back key without much hand gymnastics.. but after I changed it to 420.. its not possible now and have to use the 2nd hand to press on the return key... any help is greatly appreciated..
can share a screenshot to show the same.. (at work right now hence not able to share now)
thanks for the help
Install xposed framework and get GravityBox. You can then change the dimensions of the navbar. Also just my opinion, but 420 is way to small. I've found that our screen works best at 460.

Hi,
Even getting the user friendly keyboard(paid one) is not tough, but installing it on my HTC toudh diamond2 and getting worked is MUCH MUCH tough and it's annoying so much.
I have purchased and installed SBP keyboard full and it's working fine and I have forced to uninstall many other keyboards due to various issue which I have already posted in different thread (Uninstalled Resco, HappyTyping, TouchPal).
Now my font size is reduced for icons in all the screens. How to increase the font size for all the icons in Start Menu, Personl, System... even the Settings icons font is very small.
Please help on it.
In WM6.5 you can use TD2 Tools 3

By this program you can change standart windows menu, fonts size
Not resolved yet. Pls help.
arthurwork,
Thanks for your reply. I have alread have TD2 and now installed TD3. And in UI settings I have changed the default height and width from 800X700 tp 900X800.
Still it's same. the font is very small in my program screen, all settings screen.
After the installing TD3, only difference is the program has four icons in the row instead of three (even though Start Menu Icons per row is "3"). Now, I need to find out how to bring it back to 3 rows per row with the normal font size.
I have installed SIPchange.cab for defaulting the SPB keyboard and after that I am facing this font size issue. But unfourtunately I am not able to uninstall in SIPChange.cab. Whenver, I soft resetting the sipchange is running..i think this application is start running after every reboot. Do you have any idea what sip is for?
Please help to advice why the font/icon size is very small ONLY in All Settings, Programs.
Please help on this.
Can anyone help on this issue.
My screen is looking ugly with 4 rows and smaller font size. Don't know how to bring it back to the default one (3 rows with normal font size).
Tried with TD3/advanced config/ and no use.
Please help on this. thanks

fighter,
thanks a lot. that solved my problem.
I know the nexus10 has a 2560x1600 Resolution but that includes the Softkeybar (Home, Back, Options) which we cant hide. We need the "real" usabable resolution so we dont get on trouble with image cropping etc.
Does anybody know exactly how high the Softkeybar on the Nexus10 is or what the "real" usable Resolution for the Nexus10 is? I googled already but cant find any usefull information.
Would be great to hear something from you guys.
Best regards
Philipp
Just a thought... take a screenshot. If it's less than 1600px high... minus the amount from 1600.
all screenshots i can find are 2560x1600. So that doesnt really help
I think it's 42dip.
for xxhdpi the ratio is about 1:3... So that would be about 126px (42px x 3).
EDIT:
Yep, this should help:

hm that confuses me. I measured it in photoshop on a 2560x1600 Screen shot and it was 96px. But i wanted to make sure so i hoped for some official info about that.
The DP stuff will be important when choosing sizes for UI Elementes but isnt relevant for the whole "whats resolution to work for" problem.
Isnt there any official Info about how many pixel of the screen height (in landscape mode) i loose to the Softkeybar?

This guide has some of the basic info for density calculations.
http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/screens_support.html
The value will be different depending on the device's current screen density, but below are the default calculations for the Nexus 10:
The navigation bar height is defined in framework-res as 48dp.
The device's screen density is defined in build.prop as 320.
The density ratio (screen density / android default density of 160) is 2.
48 * 2 = 96px so your measurement in photoshop is right.
You can also visually check using Settings > Developer options > Input subsection > Pointer location

I just come back to say yeah it was 48dp. I had changed mine using AOKP to 42dp.
The above post is good info.
I don`t use navigation bar or the notififcation bar.
On aokp roms i hide them with gmd gesture control. Very easy to navigate with gestures and have the whole screen real-estate to apps.
Hello all, and thx in advice.
This is my second mod on android, since the first was a kernel mod. Today I am trying to change the size of the softkeys on the nexus 7, to make the use exactly 60 pixels on landscape, to make on landscape orientation, a 1280x720 screen. And eventually, I want to port this to the new nexus 7 to make it a 1920x1080, I found how to edit the softkeys, sign the new framework apk, and so, but I cannot find how to make them use exactly 60 pixels.
Are any file on the framework that have someting to do with this? Like saying for example, total with=800 and any way to calculate the exact DP the softkeys need to have in order to use 60 exact pixels? Thx for everything, and sory for the "lazy" question, but seriously, I don't want to try lots of configs if I can calculate it XD
Hi all , i really like Gboard keyboard but it so small even when make it taller in options , so any way to make it bigger by changing dpi of the keyboard or any other method ?
