I have become increasingly frustrated with this device! I am trying to run the *#1234# code in the stock dialer to view my AP and CSC so that I may root via the Root de la Vega method. But when the code runs it just comes back saying "Unable to Process Request". I've tried everything such as dialing just #1234#, *#1234#*, resets, factory resets, posting the question here previously (as I cannot post in the actual forum thread yet due to posting limitations) but it was deleted with no message to let me know why, nothing works. I cannot root safely without being able to view this code and was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem? Not sure if it's relevant but my carrier is T-mobile and I am using the 32gb White model. Everything is still stock. I really need help with this, I'm ready to go back to my note 2 because at least that had root -_-. Someone please help!?

As a workaround, perhaps log in to Kies solely for the purpose of checking what your current firmware is? See snapshot here http://i1-win.softpedia-static.com/screenshots/Kies_1.png?1378883026.

You have to be rooted and "enable" the entry of service codes via the dialer first.
For the VZW Note 3, I've confirmed this works - Edit the contents of /efs/carrier/HiddenMenu from OFF to ON (must be capitalized)...reboot and you're good to go.
If that doesn't work for non VZW Note 3's, you can try the full steps listed here!

This is very confusing , if I'm trying to obtain root I need to already be rooted? If I root without using the Vega method I'll trip the knox counter no? I'm trying to avoid that. Seems like a catch 22 to me?

Having the same problem, but THANK you for the Checkfus recommendation. That does provide the CSC.
It doesn't show AP though.
However, (new road block) my CSC is N900VVZWMI9 , I don't see that in the list https://mega.co.nz/#F!n9JnyI5S!VKmm1hxHlhIxWo1bXeIfLA
So I guess we will have to wait... Correct?
I am having a similar problem, I just opened my Note 3 and when I dial *#1234# nothing happens, if I click send, it actually tries to dial it. I need to know the AP and CSC so I can root. Obviously I can't follow the steps above since I'm not rooted yet.
Remember.. You have to use native dialer when entering codes.. I was using a third party dialer app and it only dialed.

Hi Devs,
I have a SIM-locked Note 3 purchased in the UK. They told me it's unlocked, but I've not been able to use a SIM from my country with it. I have also used the Chainfire Region unlock app.
Now as you might have guessed my Knox warranty is tripped. I'm not willing to pay any extra amount to unlock it.Honestly, the whole process is making me sick.
So I want to know, is there a way to sort of 'flash' this phone and install everything(firmware) from scratch and remove the SIM network lock restriction?
If you already trip knox you can try a custom rom that have region unlock on it.You can find a lot. From what i see Xnote and Omega rom are the best.
I've searched and tried some of the unlocked guides but none seems to work and to the contrary I've read of posts that just messed up their phones by flashing something. I know you said you don't want to pay anything but at this point a unlock code is the only way to go, I think.
As for flashing everything from scratch, yes you can always flash stock firmware or rom of your choice ( except remove the SIM network lock part ).

Thanks for your response. Is there any trusted service you can refer to me, with which I could pay and get theunlock code?
Or perhaps do you think it would work if I ran a different OS like 'Firefox' or 'Ubuntu Touch'?

I've read of linux running on note 3 but not in depth so not sure if they will work.
I kept reading about Cellunlock.net when in comes to unlock code but I've never use them so check them out or maybe other members here can recommend one to you.
I used this service and had the code within an hour.
My Note 3 is stock unrooted.

That is interesting but a little unclear - was your phone network-locked (to some provider) or was that only for the region-lock? Since I believe all the codes I have seen so far are for network-unlock and NOT for region-lock (even if I have seen 2-3 posts from users that have contacted Samsung and after a few weeks of complaining Samsung gave them a code to region-unlock, but I have no personal experience on that so all must be taken with a grain of salt).
The region unlock from chainfire is not a sim unlock. You will need to unlock it from the networks.

I'm quite sure it's not region-locked, but SIM-locked...if only a custom ROM would bypass the lock, I wouldn't hesitate to flash one on it.

Three lock their mobiles to their network. Never listen to sales staff as they're just after a quick sale. - And no flashing a custom ROM won't bypass the SIM Lock, you'll have to shell out the money to get it unlocked.

My Note 3 was networked locked to O2 Ireland.
Download this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.shortcutmaster.lite
Run it. Click search.. Type Apn in search bar, go to apn setting click open, click on youre apn settings activity, go to the internet apn and click it, go to apn type and type dun in the edit apn section at the end of it and erase nothing just add dun, click save and youre hotspot will be unlocked. Tested on my boost mobile j7 running a internet connection to my galaxy j7 prime.
Greyed out for me, I cannot edit without (presumably) my MSL which Boost won't give me. Going to try with the newest update that just rolled out, will report back if successful.
Thats odd cause on my boost mobile it goes right to the apn and i have the newest update.
Works on my boost mobile j7
Are you rooted?
So I found a working method to get MSL. Must be rooted. In terminal or adb shell:
su
am start com.sec.hiddenmenu/.Program_Edit
Bottom entry is your MSL!
Boost Mobile comes with Hotspot on all their plans. Unless you found a way to bypass their 8GB of Free hotspot on the Unlimited Plan for 50$...
Unless you found one for Virgin... this is rather ineffective.
This will work for Virgin. I have different method for adding "dun" to apns, but Aftet adding to apn I have had hotspot working for months.

I recently acquired a G935P to repair my old phone that had a bad sim card reader. I used the motherboard from the Sprint phone because i'm not skilled in the ways of micro=soldering items. Come to find out Sprint is particularly difficult because they are the only carrier that has upgraded their S7E's to binary 5. Now I have after various attempts, successfully rooted the phone with no issues, seems to run fine albeit some lag (due to the engboot) but I was inquiring that since I have root can I install the U firmware and how would I go about doing that. Thanks in advance!

Is the phone sim unlocked? You may have to call sprint to get it unlocked first. Until Verizon (or the g935u) gets binary 5, you will be unable to change your firmware, with the exception of the sprint binary 5 firmware.

It was recently unlocked but it consistantly showed the device receiving the signal as roaming, i believe because it was only internationally unlocked? and it did not pick up the 4G bands, only reaching normal 3G speeds and in my attempts to flash the U firmware I somehow managed to undo the procedure :/ I have the MSL code and am contuining with trying different settings to see if I can at least get the phone to accept the SIM card again.

Have you tried to manually add the carrier info? Sometimes when using different roms you have to change where you are connecting to because the rom defaults to another carrier.

I believe once you achieve root you should be able to run xposed, i'm not entirely sure on that but from what I understand it's possible. The U firmware is just devoid of any carrier bloat and allows you to run a more pure version of the samsung firmware, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

On older Samsung phones, when the bootloader was upgraded, you could 'odin' the previous firmware. It did this by not flashing certain components of the tar file. For example, you could go from a binary 5 nougat to a binary 4 marshmallow firmware, but the bootloader would still remain on binary 5... however, you just installed the binary 4 firmware.
Not sure if this would let you go to the u firmware, but may let you rollback to a binary 4 firmware. Haven't tried it on my s7 since I'm stuck with sprint until October... so no point at this time.

Haven't done it in a while since it was on an older phone, but you use a program called z3x Samsung tool pro. It will allow you to only flash certain aspects of the file. You may or may not be able to cross over from p firmware to u firmware with it.

You mentioned above your device PDA which is "G930PVPU7CRG3" the number 7 after PU shows the bootloader version.
and you can edit APN settings if you have your MSL code by simply dialing ##DATA# which is ( ##3282# )
Would i call boost mobile to get that msl or sprint? I was reading with the updated oreo s7 sprint blocked the ##3282# menu, even with the msl number. ...wish there was a way to get that number without calling them.
Yea i got the msl number the apn settings are still locked to where u cant edit nothing but the name and the ip/4, ip/6 option... any other ways to access the apn ? Wont even let u add a new apn

Yes although i didnt try the dialer code ##brand# because my wife didnt want to factory reset her phone again. But with shortcut master when i go to app explorer there's no app listed com.test.ltefunctionality, I looked through the list pretty good double checked. That ADB bypass method they're mentioning on that link you gave me do you think that would work or is that for older versions?
Does mentioned root solution work with g930pvps5bqk1 ?

same issue here. except that my friend and I made a dummy account in Google, then we reset the phone. now we are FRP locked out...
So now I have to remember the email at least. It was something with crocs and 4 numbers...
Also, logging in to his older account which he had put on this phone at one point does not work.
Sorry this post is not helpful, I`m kind of venting...
