Hello guys, i have bought this smartwatch yesterday that branded by Maxxout with mediatek 6261. Different a bit with mediatek 6260a. There is no themes, radio, calculator and there is have facebook, browser and twitter but cant access even i have putted the sim card. My question is, is this have any firmware that i can flash so that i can improve the function? The design was very elegance same like Galaxy Gear 2. I really need to use this smartwatch badly. Anyone who knows about this, please help me (

unfortunately that model has nothing to do with Android Wear and possibly even with Android itself, it only shows on the screen some icons similar to Android.
Exactly. I bought from this seller. This model has much problem. This is just wasted my money. The descriptions told that this is mtk6260a but when received the parcel, there is totally the fake one with the same material and design. Dissappointed
Unfortuantly Mediatek (mtk) refuse to release their souce code, so chances for custom roms are slim to none.
Try searching for some apks and sideload them if they are not available via the play store.
But seriously a single core 533Mhz CPU, it's gonna run like a three legged dog.
Problems with getting past dz09 smartwatch sos screen
I can't get past the screen where is says "input phone password" and at the bottom it has sos button . however, even when I press it with my SIM card and micro in it won't call and Idk the password. I woke up to the screen like this and I had been using it for almost a couple weeks.
Any roms for mtk6261?

Not even one of it is the factory default firmware for my DZ09. Its all crap.

I am of course requesting a refund, but since that takes a bit, I am curious about if there was anything that can be done with this device.... It has what looks like a wifi antenna behind the battery, but no options to connect in the settings, I do have some working knowledge of android devices( I have broken a few and had to fix, lol) but the OS on this is def not android, I looked it up and found it is most likely NeucleusOS or something like that.... My question is if someone has a cheap chinese knock-off that has android, can someone tell me how to change the drivers on this and build a new ROM/OS to replace what is in this?
I will bet that I will need to post this in a different forum or start a new one , plus post some pics and specs, and will do so..
Will anyone help me mod the heck out of this thing to see if we can do something with a $11 smartwatch that wasn't what was advertised?

Mtk6261 can't support official nucleus is, much less android. The description is fake. You are better off buying a QW09, it's a Chinese smartwatch that runs android funOS
This watch is Bluetooth 3.0. All functions support android 4.3 and up smart phones. But for iphone, not it just support answer & call, phone book, music play, camera, clock, pedometer, phone anti-lost alert. My case is not Nillkin's but original (?) Zuk, but it lack usefullnes of case window, either.
All that is possible - after last OTA update - opening the case activates the screen and vice versa. Before update even this functionality did not work or worked randomly.
No possibility to obtain clock view or answer the phone like it is advertised.
In my old LG there is option to activate this funcion in Android settings. There is none in Cyanogen in ZUK.
So it propably does not work in Cyanogen (yet??), maybe it's active in ZUI.
Unless someone else knows how to resolve this issue ...

I just received the Nilikin case - and the cool Clock Lockscreen doesn't work! WTF?
How can this be solved... is there a Clock app that we can download or soemthing?

I think the only way to operate the quick cover (which is not natively supported by cyanogen) and install an app called Watch maker Live wallpaper .. that way put a clock as background circular & centers with your quick cover!

That is what I heard. On the official ZUKstore people asked the same question under the original flip case, the official reply was something like "we will post a how-to-guide on our homepage".
So far I have not noticed anything, but should be in development. I hope. If anyone gets it to work with CyanogenOS, please tell us how. Thank you!

I was going to say that! I've started a home screen page with a wallpaper and clock I made. If anyone gets the app I've hundreds of watchfaces from all makes. I got and made off watchmaker. They are ideal for this. As you can use any wallpaper and "clock". It is a con though. Wonder if it's a Chinese function.

Well, i found these apps: anymode circle app, and Zview. These are apps for other cases which use the round smart window. However, to activate them you need a key provided with an actual case. So if anyone bought a case from these guys and is willing to share....who knows, we might have a workgin smart case.
I got in touch with one of the official Nillkin sellers and this is his answer:

My guess is in ZUI version there is an option for smart view. If anyone can confirm, it would be great. In cyanogen there is no such thing

I can't confirm that it's working. I tried both flip cases with and without window. I also checked the smart cover option in zui settings. It's not working. Shame on zuk. BTW I'm using zui 3.1.194st.

I recently purchased this watch and am really pleased with it.
It has good build quality and unlike the No.1 D5 it has two buttons on the right side, one for the power and the other for the back button as well as the swipe down to go back.
I have also flashed the No1. D5 on it as it is the same specs.
If you have messed it up just download the rom from the No1 D5 site and flash it with that one.

I had also backed up the old rom in case.
the only difference I found with the flashing instructions was that when you plugged in the watch to the computer when it was off, you had to just click the power button and it flashed with no problems.
Looks a very easy to custom rom watch.

Got a unit from China, seller name "UmeCity" on Aliexpress. Bought the unit for 207$ which I assume is pretty good for what I got.
However, I'm looking for rooting my device and unlocking some the features that is locked today.

Been looking at pages like http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Generic_Android_Head_Unit and http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Hui_Fei_Type , where the hardware specs seems to match but not the default launcher or anything else. Seller tells its "Allwinnertech Android 4.4.2".
My main goal is to root this device, but I do understand its a good start to identify which unit it is from the beginning. What info do you need further more to be able to identify my head unit? If you need more screenshots or anything, please let me know.

The YT-video of KingRoot seems really simple: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FW4bZ8Q20Jg , however. If my unit does not work to root, will it just give me an error message? Is it safe to try it out, will it commit any other changes to the system except giving access to system files and so on?
Also, found this Russian site (used Chrome translation) which seems to be pretty similiar hardware. It also states KingRoot should work, but not 100% sure it's the same. Also the CPU-Z tells me I got ROOT access, but the apps I tried says I do not. What does that mean?

mine its not from UmeCity but its the same hardware. all probably made in the same factory in china or hong kong. do you have difficulties with gps locking sattelites?

Not that I've noticed. I got assisted GPS with 3G if that makes any different.

207 dollars is very good, gps is working great, i'm using Here We Go maps.

I've seen those, kinda look like a tablet with an amp built onto the back. I wasn't impressed with them. But my new Eonon double din was a huge disappointment also, so buying any of these Chinese units is like playing Russian Roulette.
In this head unit space I think your expectations for an $82 unit are too high
I say run it over and spend more money. Joying or Ownice. And really, compared to what you have to pay for Pioneer/Sony/Kenwood etc full GPS units these are still really cheap!

as i havent read much about 2502D series, i a mnot sure if it is just a rebranded/names 6261 or it is a real 2502 one.

Item is still on the way, so i could not verify Memory / all the other stuff on it.
Website mentioned 32/32 MB, but on the other hand clearly states it as MTK2502D. not sure if this another marketing trick.
Display should be 240x240, mentioned as IPS, Watch has no SD card support though, but it also states it has BT 4.0 (MTK6261D has only BT3.x )

Rom DUMP MTK2502D Readback Extractor help needed
Hey Golem_ , great work on the tools.
I recently ordered a feature watch (MTK2502D) which supports blood pressure, pedometer and BT connectivity to Smartphone.
It is advertised as MTK 2502D, and seems to feature 4mb/32MB only.
MTK Smartdevice recognizes the watch from android, and i was able to add a SINGLE watchface via "My applications" .
I did a rom dump as first Action, and it was only possible to do that with the 4MB setting.
Anyway, i am not able to create a flashable rom with readback extractor MTK 2.4 .
I hope u have the possibility to split the Dump into something i could flash in case of (brick) emergency.
i want to try if i can add vxp files to the phone, but it does not even have the possibility to let it register as flashdrive to PC.
So here is the rom dump (i guess the dump itself is okay, but it might need some fix for having a flashable file afterwards):
so, its a true 2502, only with less ram (4/32mb) i managed to change watchface with a vxp file allready, odd thing is, only the digital ones work, the ones with a second , minute hour hand only show the background with a non moving set (or not even showing) of hands.

I've same kind of chipset in my cheap smartwatch, a Kingwear GV68. (their are many different smartwatches with this mediatek MTK2502D chipset).
I use the smartphone app: Mediatek Smartdevice to add apps on smartwatch. (bug in yahoo weather is, it doesn't find city)
The advised app: Fundowear support installation of apps. but it doesn't have it preloaded in the internal storage "appmanager" directory., and it's constantly using gps if you approve it. Good thing of fundowear is: it shows the messages (words) in sms, whatsapp and so on.
Weird is, that you can install only one of those apps on your smartphone, because if you install a second one on your smartphone you get a error that it conflicts with a already installed app.
