Hi guys,
This previous night, my s7 edge went into a factory reset from itself! I saw the first screen with the country to choose..
I've lost all my pictures, videos and message or contact saved in the phone.
Maybe i had 700Mo free storage on the 32Go, but is that a reason for the phone to make a factory reset without autorization?
Could someone help me to recover my datas without putting my phone into a rooted way, don't wanna loose my warranty on it.
Thanks in advance
Zefashion
him?
i meant itself the phone
Maybe someone did a remote wipe from the Google account of the previous owner ?
you really think that? how can i prove it or see it?
I really need to recover my datas... anybody to help me please?
Try an application such as "Wondershare Phone Recovery" or "Android Data Recovery tool". Useless to say, the chances to recover all of your files is slim, but it's worth trying in my opinion.
As for how/why it happened it's hard to say but if you bought the phone from someone else, it's possible they remotely erased everything. If the phone was rooted, they could even have stolen the files from you.
if you bought the phone brand new, then it could be a software issue. If I were you, I would try to recover the files with the tools mentioned above and before reinstalling anything I would hard reset it at least once more and I would also delete cache from the Recovery mode.

Hello,
I have an i337 that is PIN locked and unfortunately the owner has passed away. The family of the owner has asked me if I am able to retrieve the pictures off of the device for them, but they do not know the PIN. Sadly, there is not an SD card, nor a Google account (I can enter the password incorrectly indefinitely without being prompted), and I am unable to get any information by attaching it to my PC. As far as I am able to tell the phone is stock and not rooted. Booting into recovery shows me KOT49H.I337UCUFNC1. If there is any more information I can provide, I am unsure where to find it. I've done a few searches but haven't found anything that works for me. One of my thoughts was trying to find a rom to flash with Odin that doesn't wipe the internal SD card, but I can't seem to find one for this device, if such a thing even exists. If anyone has any experience bypassing a PIN without losing data or has any suggestions that would be of help in this particular situation I would be greatly appreciative.
Thanks,
Kylor R
edit: realizing I should have posted this in the Q&A/Help section, my apologies.
Just connect it to a PC using a usb cable and you will see the storage on the pc

Unfortunately, just connecting it to my PC shows the phone, but no files are visible.
But a factory reset don't erase storage file just apk and config. I have done factory reset before and never lost any file. And the factory reset will take away the pin lock

Any time I have done a factory reset, I believe it has erased the pictures stored on the internal memory. Not a chance I can take unless this is 100% confirmed.

I have just bought a Samsung galaxy s5 from a for sale site. Seemed fully legitimate. Get home and try setting it up and I'm stuck on the screen that reads " this device I'd locked because of an abnormal factory reset. Sign in to the Samsung account you have already signed in to on this device to confirm it belongs to you. "
I do not know this information. And now have no way of getting the information off the owner. I have tried a couple of methods to bypass this And watched numerous videos on YouTube.
Some tutorials to remove it tell me to press "forgotten your ID or password?" Did that. Put my own samsung account. Entered the captcha and then went to the next screen. In the videos they tell you to them press my email which is highlighted in blue and then it takes you to the Web and it carries on from there. However it does not let you press the email anymore. It isn't a link or anything.
Please can someone give me some advice or help! Welcome any questions or anything. Thanks very much. Jordan.
Go in recovery and wipe data/factory reset. If not works I would suggest you to flash a new firmware through Odin.

thanks for reply
Hi. Thanks for the reply. I have tried the factory reset and all that on recovery mode.
I am not the best expert on rooting or rooting. So any advice would be kuchly appreciated as I currently have no phone!! Thanks. Jordan
Seems you have bought a used S5 right ?
Are you sure this is not a lost os stolen device
As you describe de situation i`m thinking on the option Reactivation Lock o security tab.
If the old owner let this option active you will have a hard time trying to use the phone without the samsung account information.
Very much sounds like a stolen device I take it you didn't take any ID from the seller?
Might be expensive learning curve.
Hi everyone,
Google messed up ! I received the OTA for the 7.1.2 uptdate last thursday. After it my phone was unable to detect my SIM card, my IMEI number disappeared, neither base band.
The first thing i've tried is to get a new SIM card, with no result, then I tried a soft reset, an hard reset (factory reset+wipe data), and wiping the cache without any positive result either. I've contacted Google, the phone was from Google Store and my 1 year warranty expired on 25/03/17 (the update was installed on 05/04/17, exactly two week later), they refused to take it back, nor RMA, a shame! I think it will be the last Google phone I buy!
I've tried to flash the full factory image of 7.1.1. but nothing positive from it. I think the OTA corrupted my EFS data files but no idea on how to fix it. The thing is when i'm going to the bootloader, under barcodes menu i still find an IMEI number.
I don't know what to do now, I'm little bit desperate, if anyone have an advice here.:crying::crying:
Thank you in advance.

Hello...
Unless you have a TWRP EFS backup, there's not much you can do...
I already saw some people saying that a restore from someone else EFS backup solved the problem and their proper IMEI, etc were back. I never had the issue, so I can't confirm it really works.
Now you need to find someone who can give it to you.
Otherwise you can RMA...
Good luck...
Is there any personal info in the efs backup? I would be happy to help but am not going to jeopardize privacy...

Hello...
Since his IMEI disappeared, there must be infos about it somewhere in the EFS. I don't know what else...
Cheers...

I think giving someone a copy of your efs partition essentially gives them the information needed to clone your phone, so it's not something you would want to do for a stranger.

Several people have been able to recover from this by wiping both the EFS partitions, but because your bootloader is locked (and USB debugging probably not enabled), I don't believe there is any way forward. See the link for the method used: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/fix-e...d-wifibluetooth-issues-restoring-twrp-backup/
Hello. Last time I lost access to my phone. I just do hard reset. I lost of my photos and videos. My questions is how to make a deal with it and try to recovery that stuff? I saw many softwares like dr.phone etc but everyone soft need access to ROOTED phone. There is possibility to root bs2?
No. Or rather yes but the developer does not want to share it with this forum.
So here’s what happened, I had a person’s email logged into my gmail and I forgot to remove it from my device. I was watching YouTube yesterday night and suddenly they turned on ‘Lost my device’ and my phone started to format on its own. But since my phone was rooted the data didn’t get formatted. But now my phone is stuck in boot loop mode and now not even getting switched on for some reason. I have an option to go to service Center and fix it but then probably they will format all my data which I couldn’t backup. Is there anyway to fix this problem without losing data? The person who did this is blackmailing me now for money. He said if you want me to unlock your phone pay this amount blah blah. Please help me
Points to be noted-
I have more than 5 emails of my own linked with my device and the main email which is used as phone’s backup email is fully safe but I didn’t know that any newly signed email can also be used to turn on find my device and reset or lock it. I thought only the primary email which is linked can do this.
U can try to flash a custom recovery and view ur file manager and backup ur files and then format your device and flash your rom and put the data in it
If you have another phone you can use that one to try to disable find my device on the 8 Pro or see which device that person is using and remove and block it from find my device. Not sure if this would work but the suggestion from above is your best chance. And if you use custom recovery you can backup everything on the phone from there flash the version of the rom your phone is on after resetting, boot it set everything up and go back into the custom recovery and restore all the data. Just don't use the same email

At least in my home country, I'd file a charge at the police.
I try this:
- remove SIM from phone,
- data + wifi OFF.
Then Format Data in ADB. This Wipes ALL in youre phone ! So copy on a PC or flash drive anything you want.
Yes, possibly factory reset might assist. Back up everything before!
Check what's backed up already, Google contacts, photos etc, then MSM.
How on earth did anyone log into your phone? Did you lend it to them?
Learning curve there I think.
If you let them log in then contact the police.
As it's not booting it could just be as simple as the boot image that's borked.
Try booting the correct image or even safe mode.
Personally I'd just MSM and put it down to experience.
