I have a stock (no root/nothing custom) SM-G935FD (dual sim edge) that I use with a single AT&T postpaid sim in the USA. I never had issues activating android pay unless the phone was rooted using a credit card with a US address. Now anytime I try to add a credit card on android pay, I get the error message that android pay cannot verify the integrity (or maybe compatibility, cannot remember the exact error message) of my current rom and doesn't let me activate. I know I used to get the error message on the rooted phones but all stock (no knox tripped etc) phone shouldn't give this message right? Btw, I tried this with stock UK and Arab Emirates roms (the latter is the original rom that came with it). There is no US based stock rom for this variant.
Seems like there is some sort of root maybe? Not sure but I've only seen that happen when there is root. I have root and Android pay and it works. Of course I set it up before I rooted the device.

no root at all. Stock rom refreshed from smart switch just to make sure it is OK. That's why it is so random.

Yes, it was. I can't believe that this was the issue. After going back to normal, the card added just fine. I will give it a try at whole foods to see whether it will go through and let you guys know.

I don't really use Android Pay now that I have Samsung Pay, but I remember for giggles I tried to setup AP and got the same thing. Took a few days but yeah, wish Sammy would fix that... then again, the display scaling feature is hidden on my device.

Which CSC's? I tried BTU (which is UK) and the original AFG with no luck. I don't think you can combine the AP file from a G935F with a CSC file from a G935T/A/V? Can you?

Hi, anybody got Samsung Pay working on the International Variant of the S7 / S7 Edge (G930F / G935F) in USA.
I flashed mine with UK firmware:- PDA (G935FXXU1APB4), CSC (G935FVIR1APB3)
Sideloaded :-
Samsung Pay Framework 2.1.06 (http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsun...ng-pay-framework-2-1-06-android-apk-download/)
Samsung Pay 1.7.04 (http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsun...ease/samsung-pay-1-7-04-android-apk-download/)
But I get this message :- "Failed to connect to server. Try again later."
Google Play says :- "This app is incompatible with all of your devices." (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.android.spay)
Note: I am using T-mobile with my phone.
Sorry if this is a duplicate post.
Thanks
If I install both .apk files it lets me get all the way up until the add card screen and once I take a picture it just infinitely loads.
Edit: I got past that by going into settings and giving Samsung Pay and Samsung Pay Framework all permissions asked. When I get to the screen where it's validating the card after the TOA it just gives me the server error.
Also if I try to use my fingerprint it just takes me back to the pin option screen, I can't proceed unless I use a pin
Note: I am using an AT&T MVNO (cricket)
It's not out yet in the UK and no card issuer currently supports it, it won't work until then.
So even though I am in US, I cannot use Samsung Pay.
I am feeling a little bit restricted here Samsung, as far as I knew, Samsung was not Apple. But now, its hard to say.

Are you using international variant of S7
Yes
Yeah that's what I though. Wait until Samsung pay releases in the UK and then add my cards after. But it's sucks. It shouldn't be firmware attached. Oh Samsung.. Now debating if I should wait or just root and enjoy a rooted s7 edge
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
For me, Samsung Pay is worth the wait
So I was about to buy an international Galaxy S7 Edge G935F to use with my AT&T line... but after checking here and there I couldn't find an answer for the Samsung Pay..even the customer support for the Samsung Pay said that they are only trained to answer questions for US vairants S7 only but they told me I can try install the app and see if it will work or not as it still only support in the US only, but they mentioned an update to come later but to certain markets..my biggest fear is that if it didn't reach the international version at all!!

Root your device, I highly doubt samsung pay will be coming anytime soon.

I've searched multiple forums and looks like we have to wait for an international firmware that Samsung opens up Pay on. Sigh
Flash tmobile firmware
Out of curiosity, would it be possible to flash the tmobile official firmware on an international s7 edge and be able to use samsung pay?

No. The tmobile firmware has the snapdragon variant. We have the exynos. And even so, without root, Odin most likely wouldn't let us flash the tmobile firmware on an international device. US carriers think their versions of the phones firmware is sacred. Wish Samsung used it's size and just went the apple way. One variant, all carriers. One software the model no matter where it's sold

Even with root you won't be able to run the T-Mobile firmware on it. Think of it as using a whole different architecture.

Here in Brazil it's being sold the SM-G935F model but i got mine S7 on Canada (model SM-G935W8 ) ... so i'm guessing when the service debut here i'll have to wait to be also working on Canada?
That's stupid as ****, if you ask me. God damn samsung....
And by the way, i coudln't find 1 single diference in hardware betwen the SM-G935F and the SM-G935W8, so why the hell can't I flash the internacional model G935F on my phone?
I've never used these mobile payment apps but I've been interested in trying them out. I don't have an S7 yet but Samsung Pay was one of the things I was looking forward to.
Any thoughts on how Samsung Pay would compare to Android Pay? Do I lose a lot by using Android Pay over Samsung Pay?

The only difference is that you lose the MST capability.
I purchased a new unlocked international S7 edge and it works well - but was missing Samsung Pay. I loaded both the latest framework and app using APK mirror.com site. The app runs and I can after some coaxing get to the part to manually load a card - but then it consistently says samsung pay failed to connect to server - try again later.
It never is able to connect - and from some reading it says this could be due to encryption of the internal memory. There is no option to decrypt the internal memory (if it is).
Is there some way to force the decryption or even to verify it is encrypted? I purchased the phone with Samsung Pay as one of things I really wanted to play around with and am at a loss .

You'd have to run a firmware where pay is available. So far, we can't run any of the US firmwares because exynos vs snapdragon. All we can do is wait until it releases in the UK or Canada and then flash the respective country's firmware

samsung pay is "available" in Brazil but i cannot make it work.
They said it wont be able to use the S6 family, only s7 because they have a new technology that's mostly used here, buttt i wanted to try and see if i could use my phone (almost all machines accept nfs payments).
this was the first thing that made sense, but could it be because of that that i cannot connect my s6 edge? (just updated the app and framework)
Samsung Pay works the UAE firmware.

Yes, same time you get that message. Maybe your phone was branded by Olleh, right? See at booting time. Many my friends reported if any korean version phone with Olleh will be facing that problem. I have been looking into getting 935F in order to root it and be able to flash customer ROMs and to be able to uses titanium and TWRP for backups, etc.. With custom kernels now available, might even be able to use duel/multiboot again.
In going through the international threads, I have run into US users getting 935F's, but then getting Samsung Pay to work - which means the device cannot be rooted, as it trips KNOX. They then wish they could have other features like WiFi calling that they already had with their US 935T.
What I don't understand is why anyone would get the 935F in the US if they were not going to root it, as the locked bootloader 935T has Pay and the other features they would like on their 935F. What am I missing here?
Good question (I have a 930F that I use rooted on t-mobile). Without root, my reasons for liking it might be improved battery life and performance. Another would be the dual sim model could be useful for some purposes. The next reason might be cost (as t-mobile officially sells the 930T for $670 new while the 930FD has been on ebay for $530 new. Potentially, if the person traveled abroad, the flashable cscs or non-tmobile volte/wifi settings may work better with international carriers.
I switched over from a G935T to an F model for a few reasons, 1: Speedy'er updates (Or the ability to apply new updates from any region); 2: Option to root if I want to; 3: Identify unsaved numbers option
I managed to get Samsung Pay working. I did lose WiFi Calling (Might be able to get it back as some firmwares such as the one I'm on (AMO) has it. I also lost VoLTE. I wish I still had those two features but I never used WiFi Calling and don't browse much while on a phone call anyways, and if I do, I still get standard 4G while on a call. Thinking about it, I also lost native video calling and rich communication messaging, but those are also baked in, just haven't figured it out yet. Anyways, I basically switched for more freedom and options. There is way less bloat and it seems a bit snappier than the SD version.
Have any questions? Ask away.
Having switched from a G935T to a G935FD, I would say the two aren't even comparable in terms of performance. The FD is MUCH faster, has less bloatware, and practically never hangs or pauses. The phone is just in a different world. Add to that more than 2x the battery life, and it's not even a contest. I'd love to root and add some other features, but I find Samsung Pay more useful and practical for the time being.
And after spending some time with the FD, I'm still kinda chafed about the T version, like I got scammed, having read all kinds of great things about the S7e that were just never delivered. And then the FD exceeds all those expectations.
So there's that....
---------- Post added at 08:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:40 PM ----------
And as for VOLTE -- I never used it, though I wouldn't mind if it was available. For wifi calling, I just have my number set to forward to a Google Voice number (also used for voicemail), and with the Hangouts Dialer, I can answer over wifi or LTE just fine when I don't receive a call or signal inside a building for some reason (which is rare).
Oh, and my download speeds are testing out at 3x what I was getting on the T version. Not sure why that is, but the speedtests don't lie. I'm getting 60+ Mbps down, 20+ up.
Tmobile version is Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820
and g935fd is Exynos 8890 Octa with dual SIM card,
I just want to ask people which version is better but now as you said like exynos 8890 is better

Not sure about band 12. I'm in New Orleans, and I seem to be on band 4 most of the time here. Reception seems quite a bit better than my G935T, for whatever reason.
For firmware, any firmware for the G935F will work for the FD. I followed this method:

And I updated with the most recent version in this thread, along with the Spanish CSC_HOME file, as Samsung Pay works in Spain now.

This is why I always make it a point for me to never become too dependent upon something. Same thing with investing so much into a service where you can’t go without it. Eventually they will do something you don't like and you will have no choice but to accept what they want. I know root and android pay didn't mix so I won’t bother with Samsung pay either. I find it faster to pull out my wallet anyway or I prefer to pay with cash. Than to pull out my phone, login and start fiddling with it to pay. I'm looking to get a Note 7 and the only thing I hope is that the Iris scanner won’t be disabled when I root and Knox is voided. Other than that I never used knox for anything.
Samsung pay may play a reason in why Samsung Locked bootloaders in the US but i also think carriers are to blame. We know Verizon and AT&T do it for money and there business users and now T-Mobile has started. Even though T-Mobile claims it was Samsung i think they did it to stop people from tethering and hiding it using root. Remember they had wrote that article making rooters seem nefarious and stealing data lol. This could have played a role in them now locking their bootloaders to prevent root in my opinion.
Hey guys,
I am currently an iPhone user since day one. I guess I am getting tired of waiting for a jailbreak and waiting on developers to update their tweaks so I want to move to an S7.
I been looking on Craigslist for a S7 and I see a bunch of AT&T phones but I am on Verizon. I know both carriers are different from one another using different bands but can I use an ATT phone on a Verizon network if it's unlocked? I was told by Verizon that I can but someone else said I can't.
I am just curious to see if the S7 is all band compatible?
I don't want to spend $700 and not be able to use it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes, there are no US S7 or S7 Edge phones which can be rooted.
The very last late model Samsung Galaxy phones which can still be
rooted are the S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ & Note 5 US branded phones.
So if you want a S7 Edge you will have to purchase an international
model G935F.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

So rooting is only for installing roms correct? Thanks for this info, I almost bought one from CL.
Can you still install tweaks without rooting?
Also just to confirm the SM-G935F model will work on Verizon correct?

You cannot install or flash any roms, tweaks or mods unless the phone is rooted. (With very few exceptions)

Yes it can.
If you want to know how, go to this xda link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/recovery-official-twrp-hero2lte-3-0-0-0-t3334084
It will guide you thru the rooting process.
The W8 Canadian S7 Edge is rooted the
same way as all the international versions.
You don't even need to root the phone if you are
going to flash a custom rom...
All custom roms are pre-rooted so you will only
need to odin flash TWRP by following the guide
in the link above.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

Are you sure the international version supports CDMA?
I read it only supports 4G not 3G or 2G.
That kind of sux because to me Verizon does not have good coverage.
If I buy a phone from Verizon I guess can't root it, what can I do? Can I install custom tweaks and is there a free App Store like AppCake?
I would be careful using phones built on another network even if unlocked. The phone and sms will work but picture / video and data connections will be spotty.
Verizon and Sprint work off of CDMA and all other carries r on GSM.
LTE frequencies r built different for each network. If I was u n spending that money, I would buy the phone that was made for the carrier u r looking to do business with.
U can search through the Google play store. All tweaks that come from apps in there u can install without root.
If u r used to Cydia which u change system parameters of the native phone or status bar icons, that is all done with root.
Android gives u a million more customization options unrooted. Not like the iPhone. I have also used an iPhone for years and only because of the jailbreak. Without a JB I would of never used the iPhone. I switched to android as well because new JBs don't come out as quick especially since every other month Apple releases a new IOS.
I am amazed with all the options and great camera that s7 has over the iPhone. The iPhone 7 still sounds to be years behind.
I am actually selling an AT&T unused s7 device.
Good luck!!!
