when I had my GS 3 for Sprint you could add a number to spam messages and it wouldn't notify you. I know the other carriers get this feature with Samsung messaging on the s5. Has anyone been able to unlock it?
I started using hangouts because it has a similar feature, but whenever I use ultra power saving mode, that defaults to Samsung messaging, it shows me the messages from the people I don't want.
bump. it seems like something someone must have looked into at this point
Hello,
i own an OnePlus 2 which is rooted with the Exodus ROM with android 6.0 also the xposed Framework is installed.
At the Moment I try to use two SMS apps because i like some stuff in both but they both have disadvantages.
Is there any possibility to send SMS via both apps? Because everytime I try it I have to change the default messenger app.
I also try to change the permissions of the apps but it didn't help
have a nice day

Hi, what you are hoping to do cannot be possible since the system accepts one sms app at a time, it's deeply coded and works with the sms push and the network provider. so you can't have both sms apps corresponding to the same network, system or device. the option is just not available yet. you have to choice either way.
First of all thank you steps parku for the answer.
I solved it now with a tasker profile with the secure settings extension
If you start an other sms app tasker sets it on default.
Kind regards

I've recently just switched back to Samsung after being on iPhone for the last two years, and was wondering if it is possible to add access my files to add docx, and other files in the text messaging app.
I remember when I used to have a note 2 I was able to add any file within my text messaging app and with my s7 edge it doesn't seem to even bring that option up.
Is there a way to enable this feature or is there something that I'm supposed to do like rooting or whatever.
I cannot add via stock Messaging app, nor from Google Messenger. I also couldn't Share it from the stock file manager app, nor Root Explorer. I don't know if you can send those via text...?
Hi
I am getting really frustrated, as I am not receiving any FCM Push messages in my own app on my s8+, either its runnning or in background.
I have switched off battery opt for all apps and tried all solutions for this problem when searched for (disable Google App, disable battery opt, allow notifications, ....). App has all access and notification rights.
My app should only display this push notification, nothing fancy.
My wife has a S7 with Android 8.0.0 the same version as on my S8+.
The strange thing, the S7 gets every message immediately with no problem, only my S8+ doesnt display anything.
Also GMail notfication is extremly delayed as are all push messages.
I am really out of ideas.
I made a factory reset and that didnt help either.
Summary:
S8+ Android 8.0.0: no FCM from own app, push messages delayed on other apps
S7 Android 8.0.0: FCM shown istantly without any delay, push messages on other apps normal
Does anybody have another idea?
Would a custom rom help? I am now at a point where I wouldn't care losing warranty by installing a custom rom, if the Push messages would work!
thanks for your help
regards
Erich
Hello,
The screen on my S8 has become cracked enough to push me to a new phone, OnePlus Nord 2. I have noticed a significant number of my text messages have been in samsung messenger chat format. I would like to backup these messages and be able to have access to them, preferrably from my new phone. I know of SMS and MMS backup apps, but nothing for samsung chat format. Does anyone know of a way I can do this?
unfortunately and solution will need to be without root, because I have the SM-G950W with Android 9 and firmware 6, and I haven't found a way to root it (if you know a way to root it as wel that would be great too, much easier to transfer info from one phone to the other)
