MSM8960 Driver Installation Error

Hi there,
I've just downloaded the latest Note 3 leaked software build which I've been anticipatedly waiting for and I've hit a brick wall. I have Kies installed and when the phone is powered on the computer recognises it and can interact with it however when I turn my phone into Download Mode my computer says
MSM8960 Driver couldn't be installed?

I APOLOGISE, WINDOWS UPDATE SETTINGS WERE BLOCKING DRIVER INSTALLATION. PLEASE DELETE.

I Have the same issue with my Galaxy Note 3 on Windows 8.1 using Samsung Kies version 3
I just uninstalled Kies 3 and installed latest 2 version available form samsung.com/kies and it solved the problem.

Hi there, I am sorry, but how did you un-block win driver installation?
I updated Kies3 to the latest release...
I went into system, Windows Updates, change settings, and then ticket all the update boxes...
Now I don't see the error anymore, Kies can see and work on my SM-N9005 Note 3 but Odin stil won't see it!
Any ideas how to fix this?

Forget that... the problem went away by itself after a few reboot of Win7.

You need to turn off the USB-Debugging option in the Developer-tools/options. After turn off this function the Windows Update found 2 Drivers and install them. After this my Odin v.3.10.6 become cennection to com4 Usb-connector where my S5 was pluckt in.
that way it workt by my galaxy s5

[HOW-TO] Update Firmware via Kies & Rom/s - Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8010

This is an Official Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8010 Upgrade for all Nations - UK Upgrade.
Hardware and Software Prerequisites'
1. PC or Laptop.
2. USB Port.
3. USB Cable to Device.
4. USB software for Device installed on PC or Laptop - This is generally PnP, computer must be able to see the Device > Computer via Start menu on PC or Laptop.
5. Latest Odin Download > Install it on PC or Laptop.
Steps #1
1. First you need to join Sam Mobile.com with Free or Premium Membership.
2. Login and go to Sam Mobile Firmware page to download the latest Firmware - You may download from other nations the firmware as long as it is Universal Compatible with your Device Model Number.
** This does not impede on Device Warranty or T&C.
Example -
I am located in Australia, However this Firmware is Universally Compatible for the Same Model.

Country: United Kingdom
Version: Android 4.4.2
Build date: Mon, 26 May 2014 13:44:32 +0000
PDA Firmware: N8010XXUDNE4 (1.1GB estimated)
Once you have downloaded the Firmware follow Steps 2.
Steps #2
1. Connect Device to PC or Laptop via USB Cable.
2. Check Device is Visible to Computer > Computer via Start menu on PC or Laptop.
3. Pull-down Notification bar.
4. Tap - Touch for Other USB Options.
5. Select MTP.
You Should now be able to see and access your storage on your Device, if not see help from web on your device model as you may need a Driver.
6. Turn Device Off.
7. Put Device into Download Mode - Hold Power + Down Volume, this you will see a Warning!.
8. Press - Up Volume, this you will see 'Downloading', 'Do not turn off Target!!'.
** DO NOT TOUCH DEVICE IN DOWNLOAD OR DOWNLOADING SCREEN UNTIL UPDATE IS COMPLETE!
9. Unzip your Kies or Rom Download.
10. Open Odin program on PC / Laptop.
ID:COM should be Blue - Yes move onto next Step.
NO - check Device is connected via USB and is viable by the Computer or follow steps 1 - 5 in this section again.
11. Un-ticked - Re-Partition.
12. Tick - File box next to AP.
13. Click - AP Button.
14. Select - File you extracted from zip folder ending with .tar.md5 or Image file.
15. Click - Start.
16. Done.
Process of Upgrade
1. The device will reboot automatically.
2. Android is upgrading 1 of 136.
3. The device will reboot automatically.
4. Login Screen.
5. Done.
Note - Yes the indicators are white and will stay so, this is Samsungs choice, Change font for better viewing.
Setup Samsung Link - Uninstall Update
There after install you will have to goto Google Play Store - Samsung Link App

I had a problem with flashing it via Odin (stuck at "get PIT for mapping) so I flashed it through mobile odin pro... Which at the same time rooted the firmware and solved the issue. Btw I love how they redisigned it. Kinda less boring

General Update via ODIN Questions
As far as I can see, this HOW-TO indicates that there are no issues with updating my GT-N8010 Canada version with the UK version? Is this correct?
And if I follow the process as explained, will any data be lost? App data? Personal data?

Yes it does UN - Root the Device and I like it overall use with nova added.
It is better to leave device un-rooted unless needed to be rooted.

This is Universal for all Nations - No Regional Lock.
Please keep in mind that a couple of the newest apps Samsung have supplied are being tested in UK only, this includes some in Samsung app store (such will tell you), meaning not yet available for other nations until becomes available to you locally.
All apps you use are designated to your Nation availability not worldwide in all.

Rooting These Devices -
If you need to ROOT these types of Devices for purpose of Su or Root Explorer etc.

I just installed N8010XXUDNE4_N8010BTUDNF1_BTU on my Canadian device. It kept everything from before but i had problems with google account authorization in the play store. After doing a factory reset everything worked well.

[Q] Problem with Kies3

I am trying to update my note 3 , SM-N9005 , to LP with Kies3 , but it says that my current software , 4.4.2 is the latest version. When i go to tools and select the option Firmware upgrade and initialization , message pops up with text " Model name: GALAXY Note3(SM-N9005) , GALAXY NOTE 3 (SM-N9005) does not support initializing. "
Kies 3 has been updated recently and my phone is not in USB debug mode. So i have no idea what is wrong.... Please , help me (not rooted phone , wont root it )

Use odin to update. Download your rom from sammobile. You don't need root for that.

SAMSUNG NOTE 3 SM9005ZSUGOL1 PROBLEM AFTER LOLLIPOP UPDATE via KIES/ SMARTSWITCH

Hi Guys, Please I need your help.
I purchased a used Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005 (LTE Hongkong TGY Variant) in the Philippines.
Its is not rooted. Android version still at 4.3 when i bought it.
Tried to update it via OTA at 32% it will fail and then reboot. No changes will be made after the reboot.
I tried to update it via Samsung Kies / Smartswitch it worked.
From Android Jellybean 4.3 , I updated it to Android Lollipop 5 via Kies / Smartswitch.
But........
After the update If i will use or touch a certain application the phone will start to reboot by itself.
This happens very often like every 15 minutes.
The batter drains fast and the device heats up like crazy when i use the camera or i open up a game app then it will reboot automatically.
-Tried to do a soft and hard reset already by pressing volume up, menu key & power of button,
I cleared the cache and wiped user data already. But still nothing has changed.
-Tried to re-update the handset via USB on Smartswitch for Android 5 Lollipop but its still the same.
Here are my Note 3 handset info:
-Handset is from Hongkong(TGY)
-Baseband Version before the update: N9005XXUBMI5 (Android 4.3)
-Baseband Version after the update: N9005ZSUGOL1 (Android 5) ( i provided a screenshot)
-Is it safe to update the phone via Odin 3.10, then get a Firmware from Sammobile then flash it?
-The phone is from Hongkong (TGY), should i choose a Firmware from Hongkong? Or Is it ok to choose a Firmware from the Philippines? since i am here right now.
-Is it okay to downgrade from Android 5 to Android 4.3 or 4.4.2? ( Would you recommend it or no?, others are saying if i have upgraded my handset to the latest android update I cannot go back anymore to a lower Android version, if i do i might encounter problems or worst case i might brick the phone.
-If possible i do not want to root my handset, but if it is needed im willing to do it.
Please guys , i need your expertise on this. I really need your help badly to get my phone on its working state again.

Note 3 N9005 ROOT WITHOUT PC

Hello, I bought a Note 3 N9005 a week ago & been trying to root it since then , I've downloaded cf-auto root , twrp & Odin , but then I found out that the windows can't recognize my device & this is what I tried to do to fix the problem :
1. replaced the micro USB 3.0 port on my note 3
2. Replaced the USB cable
3. Reinstalled Samsung drivers on win
4. Installed kies
5. Tried *#0808# => MTP
6. hard reset
So I've almost tried everything and to be honest I can't deal with the stock touchwiz lollipop,
And the only way to root it must be without a PC
Can anyone help ?
* Rooting apps only works on 4.1 & 4.4
Mine is 5.0
I've tried kingroot and Kingo app
Nothing worked

Because no I'm sick of Android lollipop, I want to flash a custom rom, my previous phone was running Android 8 which is far way better than lollipop
