Rooted on COS with Kingroot. TitaniumBackup stuck at 0% - Zuk Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I just rooted my phone and am trying to use titanium backup to restore my apps and data but the batch mode is not working. Even the apps cannot be restored individually.
I have tried a couple of different options like changing to supersu and unchecked "namespace or mount space", also I have changed the app processing mode but nothing seems to help.
Please advise what to do? Thanks

Looks like Kingroot screws something up ... check the other post with Kingroot problems... do you have strange file permissions? Why did you used it if there are good special tools for the z1?

try the pro version ho titanum....

Thanks a lot for your reply, I have also tried supersu but that also gives the same problem.

Same problems here with Tesseract on the Note 4
TB never gains root (I don't see the toast message) when restoring a system app but I have had success installing the app through the store and then using TB to restore the data

Rooting and Titanium backup issues.

Just got the white variant yesterday, rooted using the toolkit in the Dev forum, also updated to 4.3 before that.
Bottom line is when I install titanium, I cant backup because I get a storage space error. I was able to backup once but then none of my apps stick, meaning no backups can be found even tho I just backed them up.
Lastly, I lost root after flashing Slim and Carbon. I have root with PA, though.
Thanks.

Try changing backup storage location in titanium backup preferences. Hit detect, whole device, then try changing that. I have seen people say use the legacy location in 4.3, but I have had trouble with the storage error using that. Right now storage/emulated/0/TitaniumBackup is checked on mine.

ok my friend couple questions what size is your phone and also do you have backups on there already. Was your backup from 4.2? I ask about that because file system changed and thats why you were instructed to try the other folder options. Now also are you properly rooted and using es file explorer or my favorite root explorer?
There are a few factors to figure out when resolving your issue but your question quite honestly is all over the forum and maybe a little searching may help you find your answer. If not post more here so we can figure it out...

Alright, my Nexus is the 16gb white version, a newer one because it has those two little bumps on the back to help against glass damage. Also I updated officially to 4.3...THEN rooted, flashed TWRP 2.6.3.0, flashed PA and installed a handful of apps, including ES EXPLORER. I had a previous version of Titanium Pro, which wouldn't let me backup (got the error stating storage capacity), I tried to choose a different backup location and selected "Whole Device", then immediately get the "no back up folder" error.
I then went to the play store, installed the newest trial version of Titanium...and I WAS able to backup, but as soon as I would restart my phone, the backups would disappear. BUT they backups are still stored in my ES explorer in a default folder: /storage/Titanium/Backups (the text may not be exact but the location is right).
So bottom line is that I can't access the folder which holds my backups...thru Titanium. I can see them when I open ES, though.
Here is a screenshot of my TB folder and showing how much space I have can you do the same

My device is brand new, I have like 12gb left on my phone, so the storage problems is an error.
May I suggest you backing up that folder and doing a complete wipe of your phone but make sure you can transfer a Rom over if needed

You shouldn't try off...
Anyway , uninstall it delete its cache and data , flash the latest superSU , reinstall , be sure USB debugging is on , detect and choose legacy folder , if no backup folder detected do a small one , retry to detect and chose legacy , use current location

[Q] [Help] kitkat update & xposed framework issue

Hi all,
I have been looking everywhere for a solution but have found none that solved my issue.
I had xposed framework installed and working fine on my S4 i9505 with 4.3 and just after I updated to 4.4 I just can't install it (new install) nor re-install it with Titanium Backup.
I have the latest version, and it tries to install but finishes installation saying "application not installed" and that's all.
Can anyone give me a hand?
I have stock ROM, rooted with supersu, CWM.
thanks!
You dont need use Titanium Backup for that:
1. Download the Xposed Installer APK and install it normally like an app
2. Launch the Xposed Installer, go to the "Framework" section and click on "Install/Update"
3. Reboot
4. Done!
It seems I'm not explaining myself correctly...
I know how to install Xposed.
I have had it ever since I got the phone 8 months ago. I have changed roms frequently and never had any trouble installing it again.
But since I updated to kitkat 4.4.2 there is no way I can install it again from fresh. That's when I tried with Titanium just in case it worked, but it didn't.
So there must be something wrong with my cel after the update to kitkat 4.4.2.
does anyone know what could be the matter and how to solve it (apart from obviously flashing another ROM)?
thank you
You haven't changed the runtime to ART have you before you tried installing xsposed?

Im not sure if this will work Check your Internal sd card if you have Xposed-Disabler-recovery-.zip and flash it via custom Recovery mate, then intall xposed once again and Supersu should ask for permission ..
Try flashing xposed Disabler recovery in recovery then try installing it again

Go to data/app and see if there is a file named de.robv.android.xposed.installer-2.apk
Or

Problems in new Marshmallow update in Z00LD ( ZE550KL)

I am having problems after updating my zenfone 2 laser to Marshmallow
1) Gallary not showing pics ( It just show pics on first load after that no pics )
2) Not able to edit text files places in SD Card ( I am using ES file explorer ) .
If anyone has solution to above problem , Please help.
Otherwise I thought of downgrading the firmware to the older version,
I am having another issue while downgrading using ADB Sideload.
It shows me the error:
* cannot read 'UL-Z00L-WW-1.16.40.763-user.zip' *
Screenshots are attached for both the problems...
I'm not sure this will help you...
1) I'm not using stock gallery, not hating it, just don't feel like it, let's take what asus people usually say "make sure update to latest gallery app, and clear gallery data, is this problem still persist? ", or maybe you can check gallery "storage" permission? Is it allowed?
2) same as above, check storage permission,
About adb.. Yes, I can't sideload from recovery too, maybe because M? Don't know, at least we can flash from SD card

1)I was checking for gallary update everyday and just today I got the new update for Gallary, And the problem is solved I guess.
Which gallary app you use by the way.
2)And about the storage permission, es file explorer is allowed to edit files I have checked once again and attached screenshot also.
I'm using quickpic, they did give this app some "I'm not need this feature" thing, well whatever, we can disable those
I'm trying es explorer just now, and I can't save too, I'm a lazy guy, if that doesn't work, I blame the app... Wait till that app update, or just use another file manager

Ok , Well I was also using the same app when Asus gallary was not working properly.
I am using FX explorer now, which is allowing me to edit files in sd card but everytime I save files it shows me error message : " SD card is mounted as read-only" though it saves the file successfully.

@mithips were you able to solve this issue? I got the same problem after upgrading to marshmallow AND then doing a factory reset. Before the factory reset the gallery app was working fine, after that the gallery app doesnt show any photos, but the camera isn't working well at all as well, instagram app gets an error after taking a photo, can't play music, it just works for calling (at least!). But to solve one problem at a time, did you find a solution for your problem @mithips?
Thanks.

My issue got resolved after updating the gallery app and remove gallery data from the app. If you didn't format the phone after the update then do it first. If you have done that earlier then you can try to wipe cache parition.

Titanium Backup stopped working - fixed

Hi
TB gave me an error this morning saying there wasn't enough space to back up. There is plenty of space and its running the latest version for Oreo.
I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but now fails to even load, just says Titanium Backup has stopped.
Renamed the backup folder, deleted all remaining files but still failing.

Some questions:
Did you tried to wipe the caches within twrp?
Have you the pro version?
Did you flashed titanium backup in twrp or only installed through play store?
When you were able to start it did you tried to link the backup folder within settings again?

Regarding the not enough space error, if rooted with SuperSU, go to SuperSU settings and turn off "Mount namespace separation".
