Can't update android after unroot via SuperSU - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been on 5.1.1 for a while now and it's about time to update following the release of 6.0.1.
I unrooted my device via SuperSU doing the full unroot and used rootchecker which told me "root is not properly installed".
I tried to update through the software update which gave me the usual error "OS has been modified".
I'd rather not update via recovery mode since losing all data is inefficient, I've tried Kies3 which doesn't support my phone as it says SmartSwitch is more efficient but as far as I know that only transfers data from one system to another.
Any help on what to do?

You need to do a "factory data reset" which is in the
phone's settings>Backup and reset>Factory data reset
Be sure to make a backup of any important documents, pictures, video and music before
doing the factory data reset because the factory data reset will wipe your internal sdcard.
Once you do a factory data reset you will be able to update to 6.0.1 using the phones
"software update" function.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

Need help with update for nexus 4

Hello
I am using a nexus 4 and today the kitkat update showed up on was downloaded and their was a notification... I clicked that and it took me to the screen which says that you will update to four point four etc etc.. I clicked reboot and install then it rebooted and said updating system then suddenly it showed me an error there was an Android lying down with a red triangle above it I shut down the phone and rebooted then the phone started up and everything was normal there was no update but my phone works on four point three..
. I use a rooted phone could this be Beal cause of root help
I yes that notification doesn't appear now
If you have a root phone and made changes to the /system partition then the OTA update can fail. You can manually download the OTA package here, read the instruction in the same thread on how to sideload. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145848
Just remember that on rooted phones, there is a possibilty the update fail and you won't be able to boot and require flashing factory image to restore it and losing all your data in the process.

P8lite Rooted- Had To Factory Reset, Now Apps Don't Work

Factory Reset after rooting
After rooting my p8lite (ale-l21) and installing TWRP i always get the Message "system storage is getting low". Because oft that i tried to factory reset my phone but i just got stuck in the bootanimation (luckily i made a backup) but now i cant install apps and most oft my installed apps just dont Start anymore! I even tried to flash the stock Firmware (dload folder) but i get an error without any Details. What can i do now?
Did you do something else before rooting?
I unlocked the bootloader.
When does that message pop up?
I solved the Problem, i actually forgot that i tried to installed the xposed-framework but it failed, and it seems like the uninstaller did fail someehow, now i installed the uninstall ZIP Form twrp again and everything works like excepted now.
How did you unlock the bootloader, i requested the code at huawei but no response also using the unlock program on site i ran in to trouble getting a phone acount .

Bricked phone after software update.

Dear XDA members, my friend have bricked his phone after trying to update to lollipop 5.1.1 from 5.0.1.
Error message: "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.location has stopped"
I have wiped cache via recovery, boot into safe mode, and even factory reset wipe data but still getting the same error.
I have searched for ways to flash stock using google/xda and i was instructed to download the stock firmware and flash via adb in recovery.
However in my recovery, there was no option to "Update via ADB".
The only options available are, 1)reboot system now 2)Apply update from internal storage 3)Apply update from external storage 4)Wipe data/factory reset 5)Wipe cache partition 6)Apply update from cache.
Current phone model Asus A500KL, WW variant ( i suppose? got it from recovery version as stated below.)
Recovery version 1.8 KOT49H.WW_Phone-11.4.6.94-20141218
From here, i believe the updated firmware the phone is running on is 11.4.6.94, and thus, i have downloaded 3 version of the stock firmware to flash, UL-ASUS_T00P-WW-12.4.5.58-user, UL-ASUS_T00P-WW-11.4.6.88-user and UL-ASUS_T00P-WW-11.4.6.94-user
I also have the downgrade version from Android L to KK which is WW_A500KL-11.4.6.94-20141218_M3.5.22-ota-user.zip
I am uncertain which version will unbrick the phone and put it into the brand new state. (Also, please tell me if the version i downloaded is correct for the phone)
*All of the versions are downloaded from Asus itself.
I would appreciate if someone can tell me how and which version of the stock rom to be flashed.
*Note that the phone is stuck at the error i have mentioned above, and there is no option to sideload or flash via adb in the recovery. It was running on android 5.0.1 before the update, and the 5.1.1 update caused it to be soft bricked.
Will it be possible if i were to just move the 11.4.6.94 downgrade version into my SD card and choose on "Apply update from External storage?",, likewise for the other older version?
Would it be wise if i were to flash the same version again (not the downgrade version) and see if it works?
Does it sound like a Hardware of software issue?
Any reply will be greatly appreciated!

Ps: i am the OP friend with the bricked phone
I am unable to use the phone at all
That is my question.
Which version should I flash via adb Fast boot ( I don't have update via adb option in recovery).
Will it work If I transfer the same firmware version to the phone sd And update from there? ( does same version allow update from external storage?)

Try flashing UL-ASUS_T00P-WW-11.4.6.94-user via adb sideload.

i mentioned twice in both the first post and the 3rd post that i don't have that option in my recovery. I only have update from cache, update from internal storage, and update from external storage. I would appreciate to know if using the apply update from external storage option would fix the phone as the version number is exactly the same and thus, it would be not installed as it is not "an update". Currently we do not have an sd card with us, and is unable to push the file into the internal memory, so would really appreciate if someone can guide me on whether getting an sd card and moving the same firmware version into the sd to apply update from external storage will works.

N910C Problems after OTA update

I have a 910C at v.5.1.1. I received a 100MB system update a few days ago. The update seems to have been successful as everything works while phone is booted to OS. However I cannot get into TWRP when I try to boot into recovery.
I've also tried to flash TWRP using the unified toolkit and odin. I have the professional ver of toolkit which enables it to work with 5.1.1. Anyway it always boots into stock recovery and the ODIN flash won't take. When I boot to recovery it comes to the android thingy saying installing updates and then fails after a minute of so with message, "no command found." I think this is what is breaking everything. I've cleared everything and done a factory reset but still see the same behavior.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Thank you,
@_metafizik
Hi, did you able to fix your issue? I am facing same issue.

Lenovo Tab 4 10.1 (TB-X304f) OTA Update issue

I cannot update my new-from-Amazon TB-X304f from Android 7.1.1 to Android 8.1. The logs say that the update signature doesn't match the UID on the tablet, and the update fails. I've tried from both the system update on the tablet (wiped cache and factory reset just to be sure), and the Lenovo Smart Assistant. Neither work.
Any advice?
The build number I have is: tb-x304f_s000053_180927_row/
The version I'm trying to update to is: tb-x304f_s0001014_181113_row/
Hello, I have a TB-X704F, rooted with Supersu, TWRP and Xposed Framework. For several weeks the tablet wants to install an OTA update. Since the device is rooted, it reboots and then lands at TWRP. The whole thing keeps repeating itself, I am constantly asked to install the update right now or later. In the developer options the automatic system updates are deactivated, nevertheless the tablet wants to update constantly.
When I select full Unroot in Supersu, the tablet stops booting and stops at the Lenovo logo.
What can I do to install the OTA or other update or disable the update prompts?
Thank you!

You need to flash back to factory default and let the OTA install over that.
It's not worth it in my opinion. Im waiting for a new TWRP to be available.

I'm having the same problem, any luck? I've been attempting to flash back to an earlier rom to see if that fixes the problem, but I haven't been able to find a stock rom that actually works yet.

Weird fix that seems to have worked. make a backup of the system using twrp following this https://forum.xda-developers.com/thinkpad-tablet/general/twrp-root-tab-4-plus-tb-x704l-f-tb-t3664407, then grab the boot.emmc.win and reflash it using fastboot. I'm currently installing the 8.1 update as I type this.
