Always used to be a good thing to disable and save battery life, but on my new S7E running XXU1APD3 no longer has the WiFi scanning option. It used to be under wifi>advanced>wifi scanning.
Has this option been removed or just moved elsewhere? Thanks

Thank you! It would have taken me ages to have for that!
And with that, here is your first thanks on XDA.
If left on, will it be a battery hog?

I thought maybe we should have one thread where everyone having the same problem can come troubleshoot it.
On EB01, I have 100% awake time. I tried wiping and reinstalling fresh, but still sporadically it won't sleep. I've had some results turning off GPS, then back on. But that doesn't always work to resolve it.
Anyone else have anything they tried and it works consistently for them?
For me, if gps is on in the pull down shade, the phone doesn't sleep.
Probably a bug that will hopefully get addressed before release.

Confirmed issue heard from others btw. But where's the point of having gps even on when you don't need it? Just kills the battery anyways...

In all other versions, it wasn't actually "on" until an app needed it. In this version it's still not "on" it's just preventing the phone from sleeping.
Best practice for EB01 is to disable it until it's actually needed and then your battery life should significantly improve (assuming i'm not the only one that suffers this bug).

On DL09 I could keep it enabled and the only time it would "activate" was when I started Maps or the browser (Google is my homepage and i've enabled location sharing).
Either way my battery life is pretty much back to normal just by disabling GPS in the notification shade.
I've realized that upon boot, if I turn off GPS for a few minutes, turn it back on, then go into maps or latitude, the awake time will go back to normal. If I reboot and never go through this process, I'll get 100% awake time.
I seem to have forgotten where the awake time is displayed. Anyone refresh my memory?
Cheers

I'm using spare parts from the market to access the battery stats.
settings > Battery use > Display > Time on
Is that what you're looking for?
Just download spare parts from the market. Its free and has tons of information and settings that you can tweak.
I Just noticed that I can't turn off my WiFi. I mean, It is off and I'm using my mobile data (LTE) but like the screenshot shows It looks like the WiFi is always on. When going to settings its turned off. BetterBatteryStats (app) also shows that my WiFi is always on. First time I'm having this problem with android. Is there a way to turn it off (even if it shows off in settings) Any help will be greatly appreciated.
It's not a bug.
I read about it somewhere, even if you turn it off, it still will be available for some applications.
But at a very low power consumption.
If I find it again, will post it here.
I found this...
Looks like its not a big battery drain like I thought..

Not sure if it works like Greenify but my S6E is definitely smoother and last longer.
It appears to be an add on to the Smart Manager under the battery section
Agreed definitely smoother and quicker
Possibly a move towards Marshmallow as read today Google want everyone to be able to map battery usage by app or hardware
Few more screen shots is a disable, auto clean and the a frequency option
Anyone know how to get rid of the notification? I have enabled auto optimize, but every day I get the notification that my phone can auto optimize apps. Kinda annoying.
Press for a few seconds at the notification then tap app info and uncheck the show notifications.
Definitely, my Edge works as a champion until night, this is a great update!

Yeah wish it was that simple. Samsung made sure to remove that possibility from this app.
You know what, the more I use samsung phones, the more annoyed I get with them, cause they pull stupid **** like this. A few updates ago it was the weather app nagging with notifications, and when they fixed that, they just introduce another silly app to do the same stuff.
I'm done.
The "Always Power Saving" mode comes out to be the life saver to my phone
I saw a drastic change in it's battery life! Actually it works like a task-killer and since it's integrated with the system, we don't need to root our devices and install Greenify at all Thanks Samsung for understanding the needs of average consumers!

I have to agree! My phone is alot smoother too after this update

FYI, one of my friend was constantly calling me at that time and making me difficult to take the screenshots so I had to turn it on for a couple of seconds

I was asking because on my edge, on COI9 it doesn't say "always battery saving" but rather "always optimize" and I don't get standby times that great. I thought that since there is a new firmware available Samsung changed something in the algorithm, hence the name change and techsammy was on the new one, hence the much better standby times (and maybe has something disabled that does wonders)
Ι have huge battery drain since yesterday with COI9....
Ιts getting better after a few days.
My battery drine in five cicle charge .coi9
Any solution
Since I upgraded to the final build of Android Oreo, my phone began to suffer an excessive consumption of battery with respect to nougat. Reading a bit about Android 8.0 I found that the option to "use mobile data while connected to WIFI" is turned on by default. Turning it off I have again + 6 hours of SOT.
I'm not sure if it's the real cause, but at least in my case it worked. regards!:good:
Ok. Where is that option? Is it in develeper options?

Hi all, I've ran into some difficulties with the latest Pie update. The problem is, I couldn't keep my adguard app running because the system will force it to sleep after about 24 hours or so (maybe even less, I didn't pay attention to the timing).
Even after I set it not to optimize the app, turn off battery saver and adaptive battery and lock the app to ensure I didn't accidently close the app. But it still goes to sleep.
Hence the question, HOW DO I KEEP IT RUNNING AT ALL THE TIMES?
I would really appreciate if you could help me out with this. Thanks.

That's the problem, I don't root.
Try turning off the battery optimization,
Try going to setting ---> Battery ----> Battery Optimisation ---> More (top right corner) ----> Advance optimisation --- > Turn off Sleep standby optimisation . IF this doesn't solve your problem, you should turn off deep optimisation too!
Give it a try.
