How to fix these reboots? - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello..
I'm so tired of theese reboots now and i dont know what to do about it.
I have soon tried every rom and firmware on this forum and its all the same.
It will often work for like 24hrs and then it starts again, if im using spotify or another music player ill get the restarts more frequent.
Sometimes it will work for a day but often it can be up to 5 times /hrs.
I just installed aicp and thought it was fixed... but just as i writes it has restarted 2 times... is this a hardware problem or is it software? And how do i find whats causing?

Mate....please describe:
1. Used ROM/kernel/OC/related
2. XPOSED?
3. Used Apps
Have you tried clean flashing, without installing single app for 48 hours? Does it happen then?

I´ve got the same problem as you do... I tried like every rom which is available for the OP2. Hopefully anybody out there knows a solution :/

Did your get these spontaneous reboots from the beginning of did they start after you played around with other ROMs than Oxygen? If the started after, perhaps some of the system partitions has been partly damaged or the files in them, if so try restoring phone back to basic using the known Qualcomm OxygenOS brick restore method which resets all partitions back to factory ones.

If anything else fails..... Backup all your apps. Backup your intenal SDCARD to a pc and do a factory reset:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/guide-official-stock-reset-to-oos-2-2-0-t3290707
Takes a bit of time, but it might be worth.
Did you try to take a logcat of the reboot issue?

Random Reboots and Factory Reset

Okay, So I am running Cyanogenmod on my VS-980 and there are 2 problems that I face but may be universal to all roms:
1. The Random reboots are getting more and more common so now they are up to about 7-10 times a day. Any fix? Or at least workaround?
2. Factory resets and cache clearing take SO long. It is around 10-20 minutes each. I heard it's due to the massive LG rom? Is there a way to make it normal like any other device (few seconds)?
Thanks

Try flashing cyanfox (CM11 based) and paeks kernel. Been running both for about 2 weeks....no reboots no sods no lockups. Completely stable.
Cyanfox link
http://cyanfox-rom.com/downloads/?folder=vs980/
I'm running the 1/04 build. Haven't tried the newest one yet, but I can say I'm totally happy with cyanfox. Best, stable AOSP ROM I've flashed yet.

Random reboots on every rom after H2OS

Hey guys.
I don´t wanted to create a thread about this but after some troubleshooting without a solution i don´t know what to do.
After i installed (i think it happens after that) kingmercians hydrogen os, i doesn´t matter which rom i use (cm13, cm12, aicp, ......) i got random reboots. I did´nt install any new app, tried it with gapps, without gapps.... Sometimes it happened right after the first boot of a new rom, sometimes while i restored via TB (no system apps!). It´s not reproducible for me.
I don´t want to make it factory fresh but i know this could be the last way.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Did you wipe before you installed new rom ? , also have to say that cyanogenmods like 12.1 and 13 are still unstable tried all myself too . I suggest you to wipe everything but not internal storage , after you installed those ROM's and gapps did you wipe ? also what gapps are you using ?

First, thank you for your reply!
Yeah.... Every time i switch between roms i wipe everything, cache, data, dalvik and system. And after gapps, i wipe dalvik and cache.
The strange thing is, the roms i used before without any problems (installed for example razor rom which i still had on my internal memory) causes reboots. That never happens before.

I installed H2O by king but didn't had issues I changed it because of the notification system , sometimes it took minutes untill I've got a notification on screen off ,and sometimes I had to open the app to see that I got notifications (apps like Whatsapp , Facebook messenger ), after that I installed cm 12.1 and 13 also , on both had problems on camera and rebooted every single time I opened Camera app and Wifi/Data change didn't always worked , they are still unstable I suggest you to install OxigenOS with boeffa kernel and try some of those profiles there my phone working way better than before http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/unofficial-boeffla-kernel-profiles-t3289395 , or if you like custom ROM's what gapps are you using ?

Thanks again for your clarification and suggestion!
I used open gapps mini. Used them on every rom. But yesterday i thought to go with OxySlim and the included Boeffla Kernel and yes, works like a charm! No reboots since 14 hours. Eyerything is like it should right now.

Problems with CM12.1

Hello,
I have posted this on the cyanogenmod forum but everyone seems to be on holiday as I'm getting no replies. I'm hoping someone on here can help.
I recently had CM12.1 running on my S5 SM-G900F for about six months with no problems. I then switched over to CM13 and used that for about a month without any problems.
I decided to go back to CM12.1, I flashed the same CM12.1 Snapshot file that I had been using previously and it installed without error but when I rebooted the phone it would crash and reboot in a loop during start up. I wiped the phone and tried the install again about four or five times having the same problem until on the final attempt it managed to load the OS. Now that I have the OS running I cant connect to WIFI, the 'back' and 'recent apps' buttons on the phone don't respond (the home button does work), the camera app doesn't work (I get the error 'Can connect to Camera') and it keeps crashing and restarting on reboot. Everything else seems to work but the phone seems sluggish and there may be other errors that I haven't come across yet.
I thought that there may be a problem with the zip file I was flashing so I downloaded it again but it did the same thing. I've tried wiping and reinstalling several times but I get the exact same problems. The file I'm flashing is:
cm-12.1-20151007-SNAPSHOT-YOG4PAO333-klte.zip
If I go back to CM13 everything works fine so the problem is only with CM12.1.
I'm at a lost to explain why this keeps happening as I've had this running fine on my phone previously and wiping the phone and starting again doesn't do anything to solve the problem.
Any ideas please?
Come on people! Have a guess, I'm really stuck here!
I myself have not installed any custom roms on my s5 yet (bc of knox 0x0 lol) but try reverting back to the stock rom and then install cm12.1 again, maybe it could work.
Thanks, but I've tried that. Both stock rom and CM13 work without a problem. The issue only seems to be with CM12.1.
Can you tell what bothered you to go away from cm13 back to cm 12.1?

Redmi 3s Is Driving Me Crazy :( Problem with Gallery App / Videos Please Help.

Hi everybody,
i got serious issues with my redmi 3s which are really driving me nuts. A month or so ago I noticed that it's not possible anymore to send videos (mostly webm files) via whatsapp. When I try to send the file Whatsapp freezes and I have to restart it. I also noticed that when I open the gallery app (the google gallery app) it only show's the thumbnails of the first couple of webms in my download folder. Sometimes, when I try to send the videos via google gallery app, the whole phone crashes and restarts.
This problem occured on the latest stable official rom. I switched to the lastest xiaomi.eu rom, did a factory reset with twrp, but the problem still persists.
I don't think that this is a Whatsapp problem - I think it's more of a android- or filesystem problem.
Does anyone know about this issue and how to fix it?
kind regards
lunatikk
Try switching to Zwliew's CM rom. Do a clean flash (back up data and format everything). You should be ok after that.

No, but i have heard from people with the same issues with miui. Maybe try switching to dev miui, if you want to stick with miui.

I had a friend who had the exact same issue. Follow these steps:
1. Get a fastboot rom.
2. Flash the fastboot rom using the MI Flash tool.
That's it. It'll be okay after that. Always stick to the developer ROM for constant bug fixes.

That sounds promising. I'll try that with the fastboot version of the dev rom and then I'll check back here.
Thanks!

Ok, yesterday I flashed my device using Miflash with the latest dev fastboot rom file from xiaomi.com (MIUI 8 Global 7.1.19 | Beta) and it didn't help at all. The phone is still crashing.
For instance I played around with a couple webm files. I copied 6 to the phone. Everything worked at this point. Then I copied the next six on the phone and when I opened the gallery app, I showed no thumbnails for the last six webms. In this state, when I go to the homescreen from here and hit the button left to the home button (which shows me all running apps) nothing happens even though there are running apps. It is also impossible to pull down the info bar from the top. And after approx. 20 seconds, the phone crashes and reboots.
It doesn't make any sense.
btw. I already got rid of my sd card a couple of weeks ago.
kind regards

Oh. Are you sure there aren't any bugs with the Webm files you're using? Have you tried accessing it with a different gallery app? Maybe the stock/google gallery app cannot handle it.
Btw, what happened with WhatsApp crashing? Does it still happen (after removing the remaining 6 Webm files)

hi,
I tried several gallery apps, with more or less the same result. I think I can rule out thtat the webm's are buggy, because I copied one webm file which wasn't buggy 6 times (so I had a total of 6 webm files) and then the error was reproducable. with only one or two copies of the same file everything worked fine.
Whats app only crashes when the buggy behavior of the gallery app is evident and I try to select a webm (with no thumbnail) and cklick on send.

Guess you're running out of options. Go for the RR Rom if you are willing to. Smoothest one out there.

Freezing and rebooting with any ROM

Hi all,
since some weeks I've been facing an issue with my galaxy s7 edge.
I was using Floyd Rom (last version) for many months working great. Suddenly, the phone got freezed and rebooted. Since then, it's happening with my daily use very often.
It is like this: I'm using the phone with email, or checking something in browser (or with any other app) and then:
1. It gets freezed and unresponsive
and then
2. Temperature starts to increase until I reboot the phone
I've tried several roms with the same result: Floyd, Lineage, DotOS, Pixel Experience, etc...
However, and even without installing any rom, it happens the same.
Tried formatting as well with TWRP, and still the same.
Last week I tried installing the last version from the STOCK rom (android 8.0) of samsung from the official website with ODIN. The result is the same. It freezes and then raises temperature/reboots.
I'm starting to think this is a hardware issue, but before I'd like to share it here to see if anyone has any other idea before throwing my beloved S7 edge to the bin...
Any idea is very welcome.
Thank you!

The problem is in the hardware. The device must be checked to determine the problem
thank you for your answer.
Is there any app that tests/diagnoses the hardware?
I doubt if it worths to take it to tech service. It's a 4-5 year old phone...

I am facing the same issue after installing floydQ rom. Then I tried stock rom and the same freezes and reboots continued.
