What do you think these marks on the screen are? I thought they where just smudges under the screen protector but after pulling it up and trying to clean them off, they are still there. The screen is fine, nothing crazy going on there. This screen is a third party screen though. Maybe it's the glass separating from the digitizer? I've had the phone for over two years now so it might be time for a replacement.
In between the Lcd and the digitizer (touch screen) is a clear adhesive called LOCA (liquid optically clear adhesive) and under stress (heat, water, preasure) it starts to break down and create bubbles. Don't try to fix it. It will only get worse until you replace the screen entirely.
Dang, that's unfortunate to hear. I was hoping it would have been a easy fix. I've replaced the screen twice and don't think I am really up to replace it again. Seems this phone will go away soon after the summer then.

Hey...
My Universal screen has gotten a little loose. When it is open it is a little wobbly . It aint much but it bothers me! First i thought i could fix it by tightning the little screw on the LCD's foot but that didnt seem to help. Now i have taken the device apart and sits now with the screen mechanism in my hands. If you look at the attached picture you'll see what iam talking about.

I think that this is the mechanism wich is loose. The part which is placed in the call/end call cover is tight enough, but the other part which is placed in the end cover (the one with the LED) is a little loose. Maybe a little glue can fix it? Or is there a better thing i can use than glue?
I have had a universal before and found out that this seems to be a common problem. What have you guys done to fix this?
So I ordered a replacement screen finally, as i have been with a cracked screen for awhile now. New screen came in and i begin to disassemble my phone, and remove the old screen no problem. I get to install the new one, and fit it in, its a little tight and I put a slight amount of pressure and the new one cracks in the corner. I was pretty pissed. So I then noticed that there is no gap at all between the digitizer and the hole for the optical joystick.
It was a screen from Chuanbo Zhang on amazon, which has plenty of reviews.

Did i just get a badly made screen? or is this normal for most screens or is there some version of the Droid Inc that has no gap between those parts?
Should I still try and repair this phone after ive had it for so long? Or is it time to retire and go for something new.
I appear to have some sort of weird grease on my Samsung S5 screen by the home button. The weird part is that I'm able to wipe it away with a lint free cloth, but once I start using the button again the "grease" marks will appear again. I have tried cleaning the screen with water as well as a mixture of 50% water 50 rubbing alcohol. I'm wondering if it may be a imperfection in the screen itself or something under the screen?
Here is a photo showing the marks on the screen as well as a photo after I have cleaned the screen.

Can anyone suggest another method to clean the screen or possible a reason why this may be happening in the first place?
I have the exact same thing. ive done some poking around and ive seen several threads of people with black s5s and this same issue. I wasnt sure what to call the "grease" some people were calling it a bubble under the glass but it all looks and sounds the same from descriptions.
Haven't seen it used anywhere before so thought I would post it up. Couldn't justify buying a hot plate for one screen repair, and heat guns just seem a bit temperamental.
...How can I heat my screen evenly to 100DegC and melt the LOCA???
Lightbulb moment - A double boiler!!
Big pot full of water with another empty pot sitting on top. Water can only boil at or around 100degC (depending on how far above sea level you are).
Worked great, nice and cheap and no chance of burning the LCD. Used a playing card to separate the glass from the LCD.

Hi guys
I just bought a new S10+, and unboxed the phone to find this strange 'wrinkle' on the left metallic border of the phone.
Doesn't feel normal, so thought I ask if any of you have the same issue on your phones.

Is it the protective film that goes on top of the bezel when new?
Can you remove it with your finger nail?
If not...
If wedge between the bezel/screen it may allow water entry.
Nah, my phone didn't come with protective layer.
Was told by seller it's new, but likely to be a refurbished set.
Have since gone back to the store to get a replacement. Got another refurbished set again but in way better condition and battery health, so can't complain for now
