Hello,
My phone was working great since March - lasted all day and then some.
Within the last 3 days however, it has been discharging at an incredible rate...the biggest issue battery user is "Android System" at 47% ... with only 2 hours on battery the phone is at 80%.
I saw a thread similar to this issue and I spent two hours doing a complete factory reset and setting everything on the phone back up however that provided no relief to the issue.
Why did this all of the sudden just happen and for the love of god can we fix it? I am about to ask for a new phone.
What is your firmware version ? When did you last update the firmware ?
Do u have exynos? The newest update raised android drain for whatever reason
First of all , do a factory reset and wipe cache.

I upgraded my sgs to android os 2.3.3 a few days ago. After the update my phone battery acted like it had 4-5 holes with juice leaks.. I had to recharge my phone up to 3 times / day.
I did anything to fix it, everything i read and knew with no luck. Until one night. I forgot to put it to charge. Around 23:00 the phone went off of battery and shutdown by himself. It stayd until 09 a'clock with no battery. When i woke up that time i turned it on and after i entered the pin i put it to charge 4 hours. After that seems like the problem is fixed.
After 26 hours of use, messaging, audio call, 1,5-2h of surfing the internet i still have 76% of the battery.
Android OS went from 50-60% to 4%.
The thing that still bothers me is that i have power drain 27% to Display..
A friend with sgs had the same problem, and applying this fix worked for him too. No need to disable samsung update, reset stats for battery or reseting the phone.
I hope this will help all sgs i9000 users. Cheers!!
I still am not quite understanding what you did exactly?
Sounds like you just left the phone off overnight with no charge, then when you woke up in the morning, you turned it on and charged it for 4 hours.
Is that it?
update to 2.3.4 is an option, too

Yes do that
Let it drain and let him power off himself. Let it close 7-8 hours. Turn it back on enter the pin, plug in the charger for 4 hours..
In romania we dont have yet 2.3.4
after your magic fix- turn on any gamelofft 3d game for 10 minutes and then watch your second android OS process (empty one without any apps that belongs to it) for higher percentage use, fix was never about turning draining off because simple reboot temporarily fixes it, draining fix was about to avoid draining after you turned some apps (like gameloft). If you encountered draining on 2.3.3 you should go for 2.3.4 its all sorted out in new gingerbread. There was never any fix for my phone on 2.3.3, darky and other modders never had it like i was,
and belive me, i tried everything to fix 2.3.3 !
Not sure about this 'fix' but I have played a few gameloft and other 3d games since wiping cache partition and dalvik cache without android OS bug coming back.

I did reboot it after the update, turn it back on, didn't start one application, the battery still drained in a few hors.. Call it magical, how you like, for me and my friend worked, until 2.3.4 appear in my homeland .. I'm happy this thing happened to me and i don't have to charge my phone 3 time/day for i don't know how long
sorry for 'trolling' but there is no bd on 2.3.4
your doing something wrong =)
just fyi
Is there anybody else with this problem. It started monday i turned my phone on but it didn't start. The battery was 0% while i shutted it down with 78% of juice left.I charged the battery but it drains down real fast!Even with the screen off at night and no wifi or edge/3g/4g i still lose about 10% every hour!
I've used the note for two weeks without any problem.Rooted with Xposed Greenify and most of the bloatware disabled.Same setup as my Notepro 12.2 and galaxy mega(no problems with those devices).Battery life was pretty good about 5 a 6 hours of screen on time.
Tried better battery stats but no particular wakelocks or anything??I've ordered a new battery and that will arrive tomorrow.I can do a test then if it is the battery or the phone which is causing this problem.
It's a note 4 910c.
I have similar problem with my 910C...Everything was ok for first two weeks and problems started when I enabled LTE at my mobile operator. No matter what I do, I have huge battery drain like you said. I've also tried with disabling 4G/wifi/data/sync/airplane mode/removing apps... I even tried factory resetting 2-3 times and flashing stock rom via odin...Nothing helps...
I'm looking around on various note4 forums but I'm getting out of ideas...
I had an initial battery drain issue which ive managed to resolve. Took a few factory resets but for me it looked like the galaxy apps ap. Once you open it a single time it updates a few things and thats when i started to see wakelocks. Ive reset and avoided the galaxy apps completely and now wakelocks have gone. Might be a placebo but seems to work for me.
I have 2g,3g and lte enabled.
Oke i enabled 4g from the first time i used it so i don't think that is the problem.I was thinking about a factory reset but i'll wait with that untill i tested the new battery.
Will give a update tomorrow!
I had the same problem after one week of normal use. It was a hardware issue and the service center changed the phone board under warranty.
Well tried a brand new battery but still the same!Lose at least 10% every hour and i am not even touching the phone!!Sending it back for another one.
It's happened to me once but touch wood only once where I lost 70% overnight in airplane mode
Could be the media scanner? I was having media server and scanner drains until I installed a custom rom and disabled it.
Hi,
Few days ago I bought a new European open D802 32gb. I immediately updated it to lollipop via lg software (completely stock), and lollipop works amazing. I didn't notice ANY bug except fast battery drain, especially on mobile data (about 60 percebt usage on 11 hours with 2 hours sot). Every battery analyzing software showed me that the battery condition is fine. Another thing is that the battery bar is not acting in a linear way (can be on 100% for more than a hour, and than 2 or 3 percent per hour in light use).
Since I already did factory reset twice, I wanted to clean my cache partition. Wheb I entered the stock recovery, I got a mebu with 3 options.. But in korean.
So, if someone have any idea about the battery issue and/or anything about the korean recovery, I'd love to hear.
Thanks!
So I've been running custom roms since I purchased this phone in November 2015 and know my way around android quite well, but a new issue has happened that I cannot figure out. Until 3 days ago my battery would last all day, then on Saturday my phone from a 100% charged state would be dead within an hour. I tried battery optimization to no avail, and flashed three different roms, tried a fresh rom with no apps aside from the gapps package and still no change. The phone shows no sign of expanding battery. Have any of you experienced something like this and if so what was your solution?

If ROM and apps don't make any difference, it's hardware... I assume you used GSAM or Better Battery Stats and didn't find the cause? If so, likely the battery needs replacing. It's unusual to see it fail suddenly, it usually fades gradually, but it isn't unheard of.
Hello guys! Yesterday I updated to miui 10.3.15 and i experienced massive battery drain overnight from android os. Last night I charged it full 100% and in the morning it was 19%. And this is with only 20 minutes of SOT. What may be the cause? Airplane mode is on, because I am on vacation in country where i cannot use roaming. I deleted the cache and rebooted the device and I think it is fixed but i will know when I fully charge the device.
try new beta android Q, is awesome for battery life
"9.9.26 - First MIUI 11"
Install Europe version ?
Im on mi-globe 9.9.26 and i suffer battery drain and heating issue
The pix for reference
This happened to me once. I believe is not a battery issue it's more like a process keeping wake up and eating the battery. When this happened to me I reboot the phone and charge it again and issue not happened again.
This keeps happening to me every few days.
I had to manually disable autostart for all apps. And i did not even know which ones I need and which ones I don't.
But it did not help, it keeps reapearing.
Same
This happened to me a few days ago and happens again every few days. I don't remember if it was after the installation of MIUI 11 or earlier, but I would think it is a software issue that Xiaomi should investigate.
The only solution I found was to close all applications and restart the phone before charging it.
I have no issues, my advice is whenever installing an os update it's always best to do a factory reset in order for the phone to run at optimal performance. When i updated i did not reset my device but i made sure to clear all app cache and reboot the phone after update. My SOT is normally 8-9 hours, also i made sure all my apps are up to date and their are no background apps that are draining my battery.
