Hello,
I use my tablet at work, and sometimes i need to lock the tab when one ventures into another office for a while, and i am wondering whether the tablet is safe from people trying to get at its files?. Basically i saw the S2 problem with the lock screen, and it could easily be opened and that the lock screen should have an "immediate" timeout, i was wondering if this is necessary as i have a "5 seconds" timeout. Also is one able to get access to the tab via usb, eventhough debugging mode is disabled?

Whether 5 seconds is suitable or not is your decision. As for USB, the device won't appear on your computer unless you unlock it first.
Regarding the security hole on the galaxy S2, where you could bypass the lock screen by waiting out the timeout, and the only fix was to set it to "immediate", is this problem also inherent on the galaxy tab?

I don't think so...
USB debugging is accessible while the device is in the recovery mode, so the lock screen won't stop anyone from getting at the files if they know what they are doing.
Surely if the device is encrypted, and the device is in recovery mode, you wont be able to get to the files?.. My concern is if one steps away from the tab and its locked, is there a way to bypass the lock screen?, i have searched all over google, and cant seem to find anything that says one can bypass the honeycomb lock screen. I know the S2 had a flaw that you could
Dropped phone, screen + digitizer is broken. I have never rooted my phone. I didn't put a screen lock luckily, and I know the USB debugger is off.. Is there any way I can still download an app or do something via the android manager on my computer remotely to see my phone's screen on my mac?
I cracked my screen and stupidly tried to reboot. My sceen is blank and it is probably asking for my 4 digit code to unlock and decrypt my phone, but since I can't see the screen, I can't enter the password.
I'd like to mirror the phone screen on my computer until I have a chance to get my screen changed. Any advice on what I should do?

Can you ADB the following commands to unlock it? xxxx is your Pin
adb shell input text xxxx
shell input keyevent 66
I don't think the Type C port on the 6P outputs video signal even with HDMI adapter, so I'm not sure about mirroring.
If you have usb debugging turned on you can use vysor from chrome on your pc. It works fantastic. You can also use a USB type c hub to put a keyboard and mouse on your phone but it sounds like your screen is not displaying anything. Good luck.

As in the title, my Mi 9t all the sudden stopped working: the screen is "flashing" everytime I power it on, and the screen is not usable anymore (nor touch, nor I can view anything on the screen)
My phone isn't rooted, and I don't have either the usb development options enabled (I can't use adb)
I really need a way to get the datas from the phone, and then clear it.
Is there any way I can succed in this? I have the android lock pattern as a password, but I can't even enter it since I can't see nothing on the screen! And I don't know if the touch is working.
I've find on internet some methods, requiring connecting a mouse/keyboard with USB OTG, and using also an HDMI cable to connect the phone to an external screen... but I guess this will not work: I've seen that to use an external HD screen you need to give permission from the phone, and I can't since the screen doesn't work.
What can I do?
Is there a way to bypass the screen lock password at startup? My phone ended up with someone else and they put a password on the phone and forgot what it is. I have photos and videos on there that I want to get back and dont know how to get into the phone. I don't have access to the Google account that is on the phone anymore either. I've gotten software (dr.phone) to use their screen lock bypass on it but it didn't end up working and I am pretty sure it's because USB Debugging is not enabled on the phone either. Is there any way, without factory resetting the phone, that I can I can get into it? I've gotten odin3 but don't know exactly what files to get and I'm unsure if it will work without usb debugging turned on. Is there anyone that can give some advice?
