Hi there,
The phone worked fine a month but after an firmware update. I am getting "no service" permenantly.
Tried almost everything.
- mobile networks in setting finds no networks.
- tried a different sims (including a european prepaid sim from ireland)
- factory reset
- tried downgrade to the older rom (EGY oldest firmware) nothing works and even the latest UK(BTU) firmware
I am located in the US (cricket wireless). I believe the phone was the EGY origin.
Anyone else having or seen a solution to this issue would be greatly appriecated.
I think it's something with the region lock. This is very frustrating as first experience with an andriod phone.
Cheers.

Did you check your imei# to make sure it's still there.... About device/status /imei info.... Is it correct?

Ye first things first is to check if the IMEI is still showing

yeah tried that. no luck.
It seem you flash the branded firmware and it might lock the network to their carrier. Try flash unbrand firmware like BTU (unbranded UK), DBT(Germany) etc.

"The tab below this sticker explains how and why, albeit in tiny and rather verbose script. Essentially, in order for your unlocked European GS7/Edge to be fully unlocked, you first need to make a total of five minutes worth of phone calls using a European SIM. If you don't do this, and try to use it with a SIM from outside of Europe, it won't connect to the network." Seems that the update restored that script. Source: HERE.

So I physically need to be in europe do that ? Because I tried with a vodafone sim from ireland from the US but that didn't work.
He said it was working fine before update so surely it shouldnt be because of the sim as an update wouldnt change the EGY product code, i take it that you changed the firmware after it started saying "no service"?

yes.
First thing id try is going back to the original firmware the phone came with. If it gets signal again you know that the uk firm isnt compatible with where you are. If you were rooted id have suggested finding thr modem firm and flashing it. But dont do that cause if the phone is faulty you will need your warranty in tack to return the phone for repair.
Edit. Another thought is my wife was having problems with her sim. She rang vodafone (her carrier) and they did a sim refresh on her sim remotely which gave her signal again. Maybe try ringing your carrier to see if thats a issue or not.

yeah. no luck. I used stock firmware and I tried with multiple sims (different carriers and countries).
Could be faulty. Time to take it back

Hello guys!
In the past, I faced some similar problems with my Galaxy S3 because I was a mad ROMs tester, so one time the baseband messed up with me and I lost all the network abilities, but I managed to deal with that..
Today it's my dad's issue, he likes to keep everything on stock, but rooted...
So he updated his I9505 to the latest Lollipop version, then he rooted it..
Today he told me that he can't make or receive ANY calls or SMSs, but the mobile data is still working as it should.
He can't remember if the problem started before or after updating.. So I tried the following:
• Did a factory reset.
• flashed a clean 4 files firmware through ODIN.
• took the SIM away and tested it on another devices, it works fine.
• Downgraded to KitKat and flashed the proper modem and bootloader.
Nothing helped [emoji17][emoji17]
So I wish that you guys, can do your best to help me..
P.S. The IMEI serial number is fine ( no null/null or imilar errors ).

Can I just use this link to flash the modem and the boot loader only without the whole firmware?

The other place to get the full ROM is samsung-updates.com. However, for your issue, flashing just the modem and bootloader should be sufficient.

I'm totally shocked now!! I tried a SIM card from another carrier ( which I never tested before ) and it works perfectly!! So now I'll try the main SIM card, maybe I can fet some luck..
So that means no hardware issues?

It could simply be SIM card issues, yes. Definitely not hardware if it works with another SIM.

Hi guys,
I wanted to make sure if this version is compatible with my AT&T S7 edge (SM-G935A)
Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-s7-edge/how-to/odin-apk1-tmobile-tmbg935ttmb4apk1-t3494724
Can you guys tell me if this works fine on the att phone? I have bootloader version 2. I'm getting tired of the ATT version that blocks the cool features (e.g. Identify unsaved callers)
Also, can you guys tell me which version of Odin works best with this firmware (don't want to get fail and brick my phone)
I hate to say this, but I think my phone stopped receiving updates from ATT (because I don't want to keep changing my sim card, my sim card is T-Mobile(Metro) and I read the threads that said that in order to update they have to put the ATT sim card. I don't want to do that since my sim card keep coming out of the card (atleast I got in the tray and works)
Anyways, can someone confirm this is compatible with the firmware?
Thanks

Yes you should be fine. I did use this particular on my 935a ATT S7 Edge. Only thing that did not work on my behalf was Wifi Calling. Since you have a TMobile sim in an ATT phone it could work. The Odin I used was Prince's Odin in the Root thread.

Thanks! Well, first of all, my bootloader version is 2. Should I download the T-Mobile firmware bootloader v2 or the latest one(v4)?
One question, whats the difference between home_csc and csc? Is it wiping data? Does using home_csc works with it? If not, I am fine to try csc version.
Honestly I have to check when I get home. Currently at work still. With bootloader you can always upgrade but you can NEVER downgrade. It would result in a fail.

It works because it uses T-Mobile SIM (Metro) and I have experienced Wi-Fi Calling on my different phones.
On my S7 edge,i have flashed between all the different roms but since my HD Voice,Wi-Fi Calling, and VoLTE (All very important features for me) don't work, I reverted to my stock rom. the carrier aggregation says "CA-not configured 00" and was getting 50% worse speeds than my two year old iPad Air 2. I have ran it on many different cell towers which I know have the Carrier aggregation enabled but it sill wouldn't connect.
It may have gotten disabled somehow. CA can be enabled/disabled in the Service Menus

It seems that the code to get there has been disabled in 7.0
AT&T variant had a code on MM that you type into the dialer to being up one of the Service Menus. The code for the Verizon variant is *#27663368378# and can be accessed after root & modification to one of the carrier files for Hidden Menus.
I believe the code was *#197328640# but like I said they appear to be dead now.

In addition to re-ODINing the phone,I also flashed the Verizon firmware and rooted it to get the carrier aggregarion menu and when I put it back to the AT&T firmware,i still got the CA-Not Config 0 0 status in the servicemenu. On the tmobile firmware the 3x carrier aggregations work (I don't have another phone to see if AT&T CA works and I'm still waiting for my T-Mobile SIM to see if it's not the phone itself that's wrong)

I have just acquired the international factory unlocked Galaxy S8, model number SM-G950FD duel sim, and don't see that specific variant on Sammobile official rom downloads. There are many SM-G950F downloads and correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume they would work, only problem is don't know which region I should use. There are 7 or 8 different regions with the matching PDA and CSC sequences as mine, but does it matter which one I choose? Just want to be sure I have the proper "official" backup rom before I venture into rooting etc.
Have searched this thread and the net to no avail.
Any advice and clarification on this would be greatly appreciated!
G950FD is a variant of G950F. But still I'm not sure if you can flash it or not because modem, bootloader and baseband are exact model number exclusive. Btw Sammobile is not official provider of stock rom. You can try using Samsung's official app.
OK thanks! Now when you say "try using Samsung's official app", do you mean Smartswitch for Windows or Kies 3 or something other?

So sure enough I locked myself out of my phone after rooting (don't ask) only access was download mode, so I tried SmartSwitch and it got me back up and running! So thank you very much for the tip "undercontr"!
Only thing I would suggest is to ensure you have your phone's serial number (required for SmartSwitch) on hand. Because other than acquiring from the dialer code, the only other place is on the sticker on back of phone....it's not on the box. So keep your sticker in a safe place when you remove from back of phone!

I just checked my Duo; The SIM Tray has a 'SIM1' slot, and a 'SIM2/MicroSD' slot which looks like it can take either (not both).

Hello,
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Tmobile - Unlocked (Came with T mobile bloatware)
I had bought SM-G935T unlocked, I was using it with Lycamobile and I wasn't getting proper reception. I played around with ODIN and installed SM-G935U then SM-G935T again but this time, I updated to 8.0.
After flashing, I cannot make phone calls, cannot receive phone calls, cannot use LTE or mobile data network. Tried with other sim cards but nothing works. Wifi and Bluetooth works fine, everything else works fine in the phone.
Can someone help?

I flashed everything a couple of times.
even Home CSC and CSC (nonhome)
Took it to Samsung customer care, they flashed it a couple of times too.
Still no Network (no calls - outgoing/incoming and no Mobile internet), However sim gets recognised - ATT, Tmobile, lyca, Ultramobile

Should I Install Latest Sm-G935F?
Or if its something else, can you share link?

if the hardware id a G935F, then flash the most current G935F firmware on it, factory reset in recovery afterwards, profit, go have a sammich because you fixed your phone make sure you do this in exactly this order, the last two are optional, but recommended

you can flash any G935 firmware to any G935 device and it will boot as long as the kernel is written for the type of processor you have in your device. If its a snapdragon, any snapdragon G935 tar.md5 will work and boot, likewise with the xynos based tar.md5's. Ive flashed a G935f on a G935V before and it worked fine
