please advise..
Check to see if your operator has configured your device to recieve mms.
Cant you establish a connection with the internet to surf the web or update weather for example?
In this country, the operator has installs 2 connection types on our devices. A connection setting for sending/receiveing mms and another for the internet.

[Q] MMS, APN & mobile network settings

Hi all.
Just a question about configuring APN and mobile network settings to allow MMS but not data transfer.
Currently I have a 3 APNs. 1 for WAP, 1 for internet and 1 for MMS, these are automatically configured. The ones for WAP and internet are selectable, thus I can set either one to default. The MMS one is not. In order to prevent applications from constantly accessing the mobile network, I have disabled "Data enabled" in mobile network settings. Unfortunately, this also prevents me from sending and receiving MMSs. When I enable it, I see traffic on the mobile network even when there's no incomming or outgoing MMSs. My question is this: Is there any way of having MMS functionality while having data access disabled?
Running Cyanogenmod 6, 2nd nightly build for HTC Legend. Don't know if this makes a difference.
Cheers.

MMS Problem

Hi,
I have a small problem, when i receive an mms with the mobile data off and after i put it on the message just says "Transfering" and i'm never able to see it?
Any fix ? Without being all day with data on..
Thanks
same for me, in italy with vodafone..
Guess this is the same everywhere ....
I have another problem with the mms app ... every time i recive a mms with a photo taken from a iPhone and i want to view it it FC`s
Tho i can recive & view pisc from any other device
Same here in slovenia simobil (vodafone) tried different apn setting like emptying everything except apn url and with proxy, username password...still doesn't work. Says sending/reciving.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Are you using the power butoon to turn data off? It kills data and mms needs data so you can't get it (might work with wlan on tho). Download something like apndroid wich has keep mms option from market.
Have you all checked your APN settings? Some widgets can cause them to be lost, I had this problem.
1. you need apn mms settings to be correct. send a mms to yourself to confirm this. for some reason also on my network (optus australia), apparently you need to send an mms to yourself to activate mms, before other people can mms you 0_0 (according to tech support)
2. for some reason if mms apn is off or disconnected, and you get an mms, when u reactivate mms data, it will be stuck at "downloading".
It seems impossible to recover this kind of MMS... Do other phones allow delayed MMS??? (This is my first smartphone, i don't get many mms)
To be safe, I use apn onoff by curvefish, leaving the option "MMS on". This way, when I get an mms, it automatically turns data on to recieve the message.
I am ultra careful, cause MMS is usually a "special" msg ie. from my friends (girls) lol...

[Q] No DATA auto enable/disable, when sending/receiving MMS

hi folks!
i just tried the new cm7.1 , just noticed that my 3G data connection does not come up automatically when I send or receive an MMS. (APN checked)
I have to manually enable data in order for the MMS to be sent or downloaded.
has anyone else notice this?
thanx in advance
Had the same kind of problem. Here is how i fixed it:
- In apn settings, try changing the apn type to "default, supl, mms" for "(name of carrier) MMS" and "default, supl" for "(name of carrier) Web"
I hope to work with you too!
i passt back to GSF b27 again , so I can't remember
is there in Cyanmodgen 7.1 a "enable always-on mobile data" option
inside the mobile network settings?

Can you send pictures with your SMS ???

im having a little problem...
when sending images through »SMS, it halts on ''sending''.
ive tried 2-3 times and tried it again after rebooting the phone but always ending with ''sending''
is it working for you ?
thanks
No, you can not send images with SMS. You can send images with an MMS.
Check your manual, settings, provider and balance.
Have you enabled data to send? MMS does require a data connection. The phone also has a setting to send and receive MMS without keeping data on all the time which can be enabled in: Settings>More (right under data traffic management) > Mobile Network > Always Send and Receive MMS. Turn that on and you can leave your data off and still receive MMS messages through your preferred SMS application.
AHHHHHHH...thanks a lot...its working perfectly
