I want to try to work with other Sprint owners and see if anyone else is dealing with something similar.
I have a Titan LS992 that is having some software wakelocks thats causing larger than normal drainage when the phone is supposed to be sleeping.
I saw about 13% over the course of 8 hours last night when phone wasn't used. I even put it in Airplane mode to rule out Wifi/Mobile Data causing problems and it still lost a little over 1% an hour.
In my battery stats, Android System is what is causing the wake lock. It shows CPU total that is pretty high as well as Keep awake number that is high. Using GSAM is a waste w/out root, and there is no app that is showing up in battery stats that is out of the ordinary.
I've performed a full factory reset and still nothing. Prior to this I had used the "pm hide" adb command to hide a bunch of stuff and it seemed to have stopped this behavior than one night I lost 27% overnight and saw this behavior return. So I reset and left everything stock. I only disabled what I was allowed to via the App Info screens.
Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone know anyway I can try to track down whats going on w/out root?
I've attached some screen shots of battery stats.
I've not really got any stats for ideas. But I did find that LG Health took a HUGE hit on my battery. Once I retset that it went back to my normal. My phone idle is always pretty high like 30%+
I've been losing 10% an hour on average with LTE/3g, gps and Bluetooth running at all times but I found if I turned on background data restrictions it puts me at 5-6% per hour hope this helps a little. (Edit) I was looking at my cpu usage and found something interesting in over 35 hours worth of stats it shows I only hit deep sleep for 13 min here is a link to my stats that I'm referencing https://plus.google.com/117150330027523842650/posts/MqUWWNDsXbH
Hopefully an update fixes whatever conflict is causing this.
I've tried contacting Sprint and LG about it. Haven't heard back from either.

I have the same issue its breaking my mind i tried everything Lol. Barely 10 min of deep sleep during a Day
I usually can only get 10-12 hours before this phone dies. Its pretty crazy how bad the battery life on this phone can be.
When android os/system is spiked high usually a firmware reload is needed. If theres a corruption in the framework sometimes a hard reset wont correct the issue. Also scouring through settings and turning off things like day dream, always on and other misc features will help. Under network change from global to LTE/CDMA will help. I quit stressing aswith quickchatge 3.0 it takes All of 30 minites to top thw battery off

Hey everyone,
My phone was doing great with the battery life until recently. It might have been some app that got an update that effed me up, but not using my phone all day, I lose battery real fast.
Not sure what's going on, but it's dying real fast!
Any ideas or help?

My phone did that from day one practically. I honestly thought it was expected. Later I scrapped all of my apps and reformatted basically. That's when my battery life became amazing. I'd suggest checking all apps for excessive syncing issues. I am pretty sure my culprit was Yahoo Mail. I've since switched to GMail with a bookmark to yahoo if I need to check it.
Hopefully you can find out which app is frying your phone. Good luck.

You say you basically reformatted...would you post what you did exactly? I've got the same issue as the op.

I was having the same problem a few days ago. I wiped all data and did a factory reset. After restoring apps only (not data), my battery is running like a champ again!
Battery was so bad that it was leaking 1%/minute, it seemed like.
Are you guys checking spare parts, which gives you battery usage stats? It's free on the market. Also, do you get poor coverage in that particular area? Constant searching for service def causes battery drain as well.

You guys never mentioned if you did the airplane mode trick and killed the DRM service. Mine drains about that fast if I forget to do those. Even if I do remember to do them, it still drains much faster than it should but at least I can make it through a whole day if I don't play any games.
in the froyo 2.2 betas they have out for the Epic, there's an option to disable data along with airplane mode and shutdown when you long press the power button. You can still get calls and texts when you disable data..
I thought its a neat feature. It should help you if you're running a 2.2 beta rom.
I think the huge drain is linked to the 50% no signal bug. I would always come home from school with a nearly dead phone every day. I began putting it into airplane mode every once in a while to combat the signal bug and now I come home with 70% left.

Same here. I go somewhere on sat mornings where I don't get service (and don't need my phone). If I don't put it in airplane mode, I'll easily lose 30% in that hr and a half.

My fascinate's battery will not last more than 8 hours off the charger. I am rooted, no special roms. ED04 radio with ED01 base. Any ideas why my battery will not last?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Too many factors determining battery life like leaving your 3g on, gps, etc,.or apps constanly updating through your network, like background sync and stuff. Even low signal drains battery
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Use spare parts or something and check what is eating your battery first.
Have you been running the same setup, and the problem randomly popped up? Or is it just after flashing your main setup? Also, a lot of apps/settings will drain your battery. First step is to wipe your battery stats, etc. and then check your apps and settings.
I have changed nothing, but going to the ed04 radio. Ed01 was only getting me 5 hours max on a full battery. I have checked everything else.

Use spare parts from the market and also check battery use in about phone under settings. Best way to fix your problem is knowing whats causing it, recalibrating battery helps a lot too. Oh almost forgot , download cpu spy from market, best way to see if your phone is sleeping properly,it should be in deep sleep almost the whole time when phone is not in use.
I'm on ec05 un rooted.
I've noticed a problem that started a few months ago. Before I get into that...some things to know:
I have 5 batteries. 1 stock and 4 aftermarket.
One issue I have is battery drain. If I'm not on wifi then I get between 2-4 hours. With wifi it is 5-7.
Whenever I change the battery it is a toss up as to whether all of my apps will load. I have rebooted 5 times today within a 30 min period. All the apps still haven't loaded and battery life dropped 20%. I have tried using the keys to reboot and also taking the battery out.
The phone will also get hot when not on wifi.
Any suggestions on how to fix? I have tried factory reset and it doesn't fix it.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
If you're already willing to factory reset, you might as well Odin back fresh and see if it helps. Unfortunately root is needed to calibrate the battery in traditional ways.
If you have 5 batteries and have to swap out every 5 hours then your probably on your phone all day.
Are you just pulling the battery or letting it power down? I know stock has journaling on which protects you from if the battery gets pulled but after o long it ill catch up and do it mine has but I get why better battery life then that. My wifi on I will get about 15 hour with little bit of use but I will get about 6 to 7. When running pandora at work the whole time and maybe mess around with it for 30 mins. Also make sure you back out of everything

I would bet you've got some app installed that is constantly running in the background, constantly connecting and downloading data and killing the battery. Since WiFi uses less power than 3G you get better battery life on Wifi, but if you are constantly syncing and downloading you are going to kill the battery.
If you go into settings>accounts and sync and look at what's syncing it may give you a start. You could also go int settings>about phone>battery use and see what's using the most power.
The only thing that is set to sync is gmail.
The display is using 91% of the battery. Even if I don't use my phone much during the day, the display still shows 90% or higher.

The display is always the biggest drain. That is based on 100% of what you have used. If your battery is warm while not on wifi you are losing 3G and your phone is constantly trying to connect to sync. Put it in airplane mode for an hour and see how the drain is. My guess is a tower is down near you or under maintenance.

When wifi is on means 3g is off. And cdma 3g uses ALOT of battery because is has no type of "sleep mode" meaning it is on 24/7 and when you do use it it is a battery hog because it also uses a lot to power the cdma bands. Just another cheap flaw in the life of sprint.
So when you are not on wifi turn off 3g.

Guys, I just updated my note to official LPY with root. The installation was smooth, also reinstalled all my apps.
It's the same set of apps I used and I had been careful in disabling the background sync.
Woke up at 9am fully charged, then completely dry at 5pm, not even intensive use.
Anyone else see yhe same problem?

i am on official with cf root kernel and been on for 13 hours with 11% used. superb battery life for me
LPY with CF rooted kernel, 3h of voice call, wifi always on, auto mail check every hour (3 accounts), ebook/comics reading.
1 day and 9 hours on battery and still have 31% left. Not bad for me, round 2% per hour.
Surprisingly that airplane mode -> turn off phone -> pull battery -> turn on phone -> disable airplane mode trick worked for me. Also the pull battery part was essential for no idea what reason.
Now after almost 4 hours intensive use I still have 70%, kinda meets my expectations now.

This is one thing everyone should try...the other thing is (as always): Use the ROM for a week or so! Load and reload it a few times (100% - ~5%)...the battery has to "settle" every and each time you flash a new rom.
mine seems fine. been sitting next to me for the last 4 hours and so far it has lost about 3%
I am also having a horrific battery life. It was much better with both stunner and cm9. I am trying to go back but not sure how to. Dont want to flash anything and brick my phone.

In my hands, the airplane mode trick works, but toggling the energy saving menu restores the no-deep-sleep battery drain state.
Connecting and disconnecting from external power or car dock doesn't seem to precipitate the drain, instead.
Please try yourself to confirm.... In this first ics firmware, knowing what to do to make it work at best is of great importance.

lpy for me not rooted this time if i need root i use the temp one the battery is fantastic
It's not only the crappy battery life.. try opening a folder (Nova Launcher, Apex, Trebuchet - doesn't matter) that contains more than 8 icons... LAGGY AS HELL. kinda miss the chinese leak
Try this one - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26088090&postcount=86
Im actually having the same issue with battery life. Was using miui and other ics roms with great battery life.
Im assuming its a rouge app or service. But i had 15% drain overnight from 1am-730am and thats not normal when device is not being used.

As you can see I've got hardly any screen on time. Location services, GPS, sync and everything were off. Data off. WiFi on but had strong signal entire day. Battery saver on. Not rooted, full stock. Any ideas on why it suddenly started draining? I've been getting much better life than this. After 18 hours of this kind of usage I usually have 50+ percent left.

CarrierIQ! You probably have it enabled. Given that your screenshots say AT&T, this is most likely the culprit. Disable it and your battery issues should go away.
I've read people across devices have been getting drain from Google Play Services. Seems it would show up though, it's the 2nd thing in mine next to screen...

I don't have that issue. My Google Play Services only takes up 2% of my battery. But its a known issue that if you have an AT&T phone, chances are you accepted everything when you first setup the phone and opted into CarrierIQ.
For the OP, his screenshots don't see Google Play Services as a battery drainer. I am pretty sure it is CarrierIQ draining his battery especially if he has GPS enabled all the time.
Battery usage was included in screenshots.
Carrier IQ uses that much battery? User has to opt in to it?
Guess an FDR is in order to opt out this time. Save you stuff to your PC or cloud first.

User opts in when they have a pop up window asking if they can collect locations statistics and send it back to Google or whatever for assisting in resolving issues. I don't have AT&T so I don't have the exact popup handy. I just know that Tmobile has an setting in Options to disable CarrierIQ.
I don't have GPS on ever. And I can't find carrierIQ anywhere. I'm not familiar with it.

Wouldnt that be a wakelock issue? look his cell standby takes up the most of his battery... check out GASM battery so you can know what to disable to save battery
Google Play Services has been killing me over the past few days and there have been a LOT of reports of others having the same issue across multiple devices. Today Google Play Services has taken up 37% with 14 hours of wakelock. Absolutely ridiculous.
No one has been able to figure out why.
I have an ATT D800 and just started experiencing this in the last few days. I already had disabled CIQ (checker says it exists but is disabled).
It may be the google play services issue and I just finished disabling those and charging to 100%. We shall see.
I took these things off, and got great batterylife after that:good: It should help for google play services battery drain..but report back if it works or not.
Settings -> Location access -> Off
Google Settings ->Location -> Location Reporting Off, Location History Off
All location settings are off. I've been with android since 2010. I've always kept location everything off.

I think there's an issue with WiFi on the D800. If I leave my setup the same as when on LTE, but turn on WiFi instead, I get a nice steady battery drain. I have compared BBS stats to when I'm on LTE and I don't see anything different. No wakelock keeping the phone on. Deep sleep is similar, etc.
Found the culprit. Battle Dragons, a game, was keeping the phone awake. Better battery stats showed it was never letting the phone sleep. Getting normal life now that I've uninstalled BD. No clue why it was waking it though, I stopped the app.
