Screen cracked - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So my opt screen cracked. Touchscreen is fine, everything works, just a diagonal crack. I've read that the opt is equipped with a screenprotector. How do I remove it? Before I buy a new one I want to make sure that there currently already is a screenprotector. Thanks

It came with a plastic regular screen protector use your fingernail around the edge but it's obvious

Okay I was hoping it would be a similar screenprotector as the ones you can buy online (tampered glass). I have removed the plastic when I received my device.
So the only solution for now is to replace the entire screen?

[Q] Screen protector starting to peel? Help!

Hey all, the screen protector on my N4 is starting to peel off the sides and it's been bothering me quite a bit lately. I tried applying some of the solution (water/soap) on the parts that are peeling but it doesn't seem to work, does anyone have a solution or a good trick?
Screen protector is a BestSkinsEver.
That's the trouble of screen protectors on curved glass.
You may have to contact BSE to see if they recommend anything or if they will send you a replacement.

no matter what you do it'll eventually always end up that way. some screen protectors specially wet installs stick better than others but for this particular phone you'll eventually run into that problem because of how the glass is curved at the edges so it doesn't get a proper stick.

Stock screen protector

I bought an LG G3 for Verizon a few weeks ago. I love the screen protector that came on the phone out of the box. There is a little flip tab at the very top but I removed it easily without messing up the rest of the protector. Here is my problem: Near the bottom of the phone the words AUDIO JACK and CHARGING port appear, along with an icon for each and arrows pointing downward to show where each of these hardware ports are. I find these labels very annoying and I want to remove them, while keeping the screen protector. I tried using a Q-Tip with rubbing alcohol and my wife's nail polish remover for a few seconds as well and neither appeared the print. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove this print?
Buy one for a dollar on ebay or amazon or China.
please hit thanks if i helped in any way. send from my g3 d852 beast

Yeah - rip it off and buy a new screen protector. You're doing a lot more work than it would take to just put a new one on the phone.
It came with a screen protector? Or are u just talkin about the protective film

i got my g3 from verizon and i didn't get a screen protector...... tf
He's talking about the plastic shipping cover. I used mine for a week or so while waiting for my iCarez 0.2mm glass protector to arrive.
The words on the bottom were annoying, it was getting somewhat scratched up, and it was lifting off in some areas. Also, screen touch sensitivity varied and was generally poor.
I left the removal tag on mine, and when the real one came in I pulled it off and threw it away. Don't forget the bat-shaped bit of plastic over the power button...

I was trying to avoid having to remove this one. I've bought them on my own before and I can never get them to fit perfectly. I will just buy a 5 pack and see. Thanks for all the responses.
Do yourself a favor and ditch the plastic ones, get a glass protector. They fit better and apply much easier.

Yes, the iCarez .2mm is very good and was the easiest protector to apply that I've ever used on any phone. Not quite as oleophobic as the .4mm that VZW sells in the store, but is definitely more sensitive to the touch.

Just get the oleophobic screen protectors. They go on dry and fit really nice. They feel a lot like tempered glass ones. Or just get Tempered glass one. They usually have the oleophobic coating on them. It definitely makes it easier to clean.

Has anyone actually taken off the screen protector?

And put their own, or is the one the Op2 comes with good protection enough?
I took it off to replace with a spigen hd one. But it is a good one. Should have left it. Haha
Yeah I replaced mine with a glass one. The one on it is not to bad though. I just like glass protection and the feel.
Took it off today to replace with tempered glass, but it's OK protection for free.

Same as everyone else - I replaced it today after maybe 6-7 days and threw tempered glass on there. Smudge-free now.
Same. Replaced with tempered glass after a few days..prefer the feel and protection of tempered glass.

Well my uncle bough the opt for me, and I bought a tampered glass protector from OP for it, but my uncle says to use this one until it gets dirty then use the protector ;~; I can't argue since he bought me teh phone..

I have the tempered glass one for it from one plus but will wait a few days. Hard to believe it will be smudge free after I put it on. I was just concerned taking the free one off that it would leave some kind of residue.
It's a piece of cheap plastic which does no favors for either protection or screen clarity. Replace it with tempered glass, the difference is HUGE.

I have a pthink tempered protector coming, what's the best way to remove the original and replace with the tempered without dust and stuff getting underneath? Last time I tried I failed miserably and frisbeed the glass on into the wall
I just dislike screen protectors. Never had a problem with scratches on any phone in the past.
I ended up taking it off and put on tempered glass, I recommend it.

Which one did you install? Really smudge free?
Anyone installed the Non Glass screen protector from OnePlus ?
I have it and I'm wondering if it's better than the factory installed one.
I replaced mine with one of the Orzly tempered glass protectors, and it's WAY better than the stock. The stock one is fine, but it's a fingerprint/smudge magnet, and it's not as smooth as a glass protector. I've used Orzly protectors on all my devices and they're fantastic. The one I had on my 1+1 saved the screen after a drop in a parking lot. The protector took the impact and shattered instead of the screen.
Took off the free one in 24 hours. It was good except it was a fingerprint magnet. So many smudges. Happy with tempered glass.
I removed the stock, then applied the orzly tempered glass right after. Definite improvement!

The easy way of getting this explained is this. The phone comes with a thin layer that is OK at best. If you have a flip case then you might be happy with that but if your screen is going to be exposed then purchase a tempered glass 1. If your going to invest money in a device and it quite obvious that you will be looking at the screen a lot then protect it. Its not like it's gonna break the bank and you will never worry. ☺

LeEco Pro 3, anyone using it withou ANY screen protector?

The stock screen protector is rubbing off so I replaced it with a new one.

Unlike the stock one, this one is the hard glass. (the stock one is a film).
The problem with this screen protector is that it is a grease/finger print magnet. Ususally I can remove the grease/finger print from the screen by rubbing it on my shirt. With this one, it just moves the finger print grease around. No my shirt is not greasy because I tried it on another phone and it didn't smear the grease around. The only way to get a clean screen is if I use a micro fiber clothe with some water. Also I noticed that my screen is not as bright as before with the new screen protector, especially when using it outdoors.
I was thinking about remove the screen protector all together. Since our phone has Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3, it "should" be fine. But before I remove the new screen protector, just wondering if anyone is going bare on the screen and if they have any issues with scratched screen.
Thanks
I haven't had any screen protector on my phone since october. Screen is fine, although I haven't dropped my phone.
I have been using the same screen protector which i bought from aliexpress and i can feel the brightness problem but i am fine with it since this tmp glass removes entirely the ugly black borders from the phone.
I dont know if there is a good color tempered glass which does both.
Just removed the aftermarket screen protector today and going bare. So far it seems fine and resistant to scratches as well. It feels a lot better than the stock screen protector or the aftermarket one. It is a lot brighter and really smooth. Another thing that I noticed is that it is a lot more sensitive to the touch.
Never used any sort of screen protector on my phones. Never a single scratch.
As long as you do not put any other items in a pocket with a phone, it should be fine.
I have tried 3-4 different screen protectors and none of them seem to stick properly. They never want to stick on either (or both) the left and right sides of the screen. idk what the issue is but I've never had that problem on other phones
I'm too afraid to not use any screen protector. The camera lens scratches so easily that I don't trust the glass at all.

I Have the same problem. While the screen protector is ok and protects the phone, it catches fingerprints and the most anoying thing, outside it reflects everything and I can't see very well. I didn't find any matte or anti-glare tempered glass screen for le pro 3. Only iphone and something else. If anyone finds something good post a link please.

It has been a week now since I removed all screen protector and I am happy that I did it. It feels so much better and I can say that the gorilla glass on this is legit. I work in a warehouse and I have my keys and a box cutter in my pockets. I try to keep them away from my phone but when you are moving fast, sometimes the box cutter ends up in the same packet as my phone. So far still no scratch on the screen.
I'm still keeping mine, even if reflects everything because on my old phone covered with full cover, front and back, dropped on a corner of the screen, the screen protector took the fall and broke instead of the actual screen. So better to be cautios.
Mine came with a screen protector (X727), but I ripped it off very quickly. I haven't broken a single smartphone yet.
No screen protector since day one. No case either. Dropped it few times and cosmetic glass around camera cracked. Front screen is pristine, which is surprising since I am not careful with it.

Found these cases on Amazon that provide screen protection. I have used similar cases on other devices and have had good luck in preserving the screen without the use of a screen protector:
kw mobile canvas case
kw mobile cover shell case
Never used any screen protector on my smartphones, since my first Sony Ericson P800 years before the first iPhone were released...
Never broke the screen, had a few small scratches on some of them (not all though), and I usually keep my devices for 3 to 4 years. My previous phone was a Samsung Note 2, the screen is still perfect.
I will not put any screen protector on my Le Pro 3 either...
I was using the stock screen protector which was preinstalled until today. Sand scratched it so I removed it.

Is anyone having issues with corners of your tempered glass protectors not adhering properly? I'm getting white ghosting all around the protector. Replacement ones had the same effect...

Same problem for me.I think its because of the curve of the screen
I got the full coverage one from aliex, no problems with adhesion, but it's an awfull magnet for smudges and fingerprints, and dulls the colors of the screen, gonna run it a few days just for kicks, but I'll remove it for sure.
And oh, havent had a screen protector, not since day one, and no problems, not a scratch on my phone (I do take care of my gadgets though)

mine doesn't even cover the screen fully...baffled by this, honestly.
I removed screen protector today. Got sick of dust and other sht all around due to corners of glass not adhering properly. The phone looks much better, so far so good.
Just in case try to avoid keeping it with keys etc. Also check this .

Questions on Tempered Glass Screen Protectors

Ive read afew threads and ive come to understand the differences in Screen protectors (tempered mostly) as that's what I'm going on. Also thanks to GravX for this wonderful thread of info - https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...s/galaxy-s9-s9-plus-screen-protector-t3760133.
But i still have some questions that i cannot find straight answers to and maybe XDA can help me answer them:
1) Those edge adhesive tempered glass protectors - do they actually fit perfectly on S9's and allow you to use the edge of the screen - Or - does the black strip (where the glue is) on the glass cover up the usable side of the s9? I ask cause i like the curved look of the s9 - its partly the reason I bought it. Using a protector that cuts it off even slightly is unacceptable.
2) The fact that most options on Ali are edge adhesive is really putting me off - but what are the disadvantages here > Could the glass actually fall off or come loose from **** adhesive?
3) With the full adhesive glasses (which is what i want ideally) - can the glue be removed safely? There is no point in buying two if after the first drop - the glue makes the screen unusable..
I'm scouring Ali atm for full adhesive - full coverage tempered glass. If there are some XDA recommend's- please do let me know.
Much appreciated.
I got a full liquid adhesive tempered glass. It was a cheaper version of the Whitestone dome on Amazon. I much prefer it to the edge adhesive ones I've had in the past. I haven't removed it, so I can't speak to the ease of removal of the protector or the adhesive.

See https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80019983&postcount=169 for the full glue tempered glass screen protector that I purchased on AliExpress. I bought two two-packs (one two-pack for my wife's and another for my S9+). Installed them several months ago and they are still working great. I would definitely buy them again. The kits do not contain an installation jig like that provided with the Whitedome, but if you watch several videos and are careful you can still get a professional installation. I did on my first try, so I still have a spare protector and glue for each of our phones. They are cheap enough (about 1/10th the cost of the Whitedome) that you can certainly try again if your first attempt isn't acceptable.

i got the liquid too, can be removed with ease if you pull it out, screen is crystal clear, no residue :highfive:
The only thing I hate about these edge adhesive screen protectors is that if you just miss just a tiny bit, you have a huge risk of dust creeping in and it gets annoying. I messed up a bit, and I paid the price lol
This happens since the screen does not stick 100% to the whole screen. Sure, you get no bubbles when installing but you can get a situation like this happen. And it gets on my nerves every time I take notice of it... which is often xD
I bought this tempered glass screen protector from amazon:https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07C5...abc_0Z5CSCFC1JDNGNTPQB2B?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It has stayed on my s9+ for over a year
