Hi there,
my 802 is running on TWRP after I updated to the latest stock ROM (30D Europe Open). Unfortunately due to problems mentioned in another thread I cannot install a custom ROM currently. Does anyone here have a mirror for me where I can download a TWRP backup of the stock ROM?
Thank you in advance
If you can't install a custom rom, what makes you think you can install a stock? It's pretty easy.
Very helpful... I flashed the latest KDZ on the G2, rooted it and installed TWRP 3.0.2.0, so far so good (believe it or not I flashed a dozen other android devices before). However when I try to install a Marshmallow ROM it gives me Error 7, so that means that getprop.device or so doesnt bring the correct value up. Now when I tried to switch to an older TWRP which is supposed to not have that Error 7 issue (2.7.0.0) I get an error saying I am missing the Loki files in the tmp folder. Now I do not know how to get around the Error 7 (the fix that is mentioned on here didnt work for me, brings up Error 6 instead) I would like to return to a stock backup.
How about giving me actual advice or leaving and letting other people help?
Edit: Booted in Download Mode and flashed v30D KDZ with the 2014 LG Flashtool. Works with Stock ROM for now

I'm stuck here for 3 days
Ok I'm going to tell everything I did,,
My Gionee E7 is indian version.
First I rooted my phone with kingo Root.
Than I flashed CWM chinese version.
I upgraded my system to kitkat and changed the recovery to stock.
I used it for a week than some how my music player and gallery were corrupted.
I don't have any rom so I download one but it was in chinese, flashed it to my gionee. than after rooting,,
I flashed the CWM, same I flashed weeks ago
Here my problem started :crying:
The CWM is not starting. I used recoery tool to boot into recovery after boot up it shows black screen. I used every method holding Vol+ and power button but the same result.
than I tired to get back to my stock recovery but it does the same.
flashed many times both recoveries but didn't worked.
I searched a lot and find a TWRP. I flashed it and wow it worked Finally I can boot into recoery mode.
Now I find the Nandroid backup of indian version. I made it a zip and flashed it through twrp.
My phone is back to indian version but its slow, not too much but its slow; camera, gallery and other apps take some time to open. I can't make or rcv phone calls. Now what i did is download the update form System update.
Now i got kitkat rom.zip but twrp failed to install it.
Some one on the internet was saying that its the problem with my Kernel. I have the latest kernel so CWM won't work cuz it uses old kernel and display drivers.
My
android version is 4.2.2
Kernel version is 3.4.0-svn2155
I also got TWRP for lolipop,
and I patched binary_update in my kitkat rom too but TWRP can't flash it
Thats my whooooolllleeeee story. "
I got stuck with this for almost 3 days now I'm damn tired can't do it anymore plz help :crying::crying::crying:

Hello my friend, please help me.
I am trying to flash stock inidan rom 4.2 but.. I installed all CWM for E7 found on the internet and I am getting black screen. I managed to Install TWRP but TWRP cannot flash the rom that I need to flash. I flashed a chinese 4.2 but is piece of garbage..
gngc-download-tool said that the com port is closed.
I have windows 64 is this the problem causing gngc not working?
No its not, it is working on 64bit windows very well.
In TWRP factory reset and format system and data, than install
Chinese 4.2 ROM. After that boot it and try it again.
It should work!

Help
I just rooted my gionee elife e7. Flashed the chinese recovery which seemed to be the only one which would be compatible. But, while changing a few setting using pimp my rom, the software just stopped working. Errors keep showing up on the screen - "system.ui is not working", "android app is not working", I cannot even go the settings because "settings is not working". Third party apps still seem to work, so, whatsap and stuff continue to function. Doing a factory reset or flashing firmware again seem to be the only viable option.
But, when I try to load up the bootloader using the power and volume keys, it gets stuck on the screen showing the gionee logo and it reads 'fastboot mode' in the bottom left hand side corner. So,
a. can you offer any advice which may be useful ?
b. can you share the link from where you got a TWRP recovery which will work on the Elife ?
c. do you have any idea what exactly went wrong here ?
Any help you can provide will be appreciated because, it's my mausi's phone and I will have a very tough time explaining what really went down here.
Regards,
Hey all, so I just came from fixing my Bricked G2 D800. I finally got it back up and running with D80020c. I really wanted to get the OTA updates but had no luck getting that to work, kept getting you are not registered error. Anyway, last night I rooted with towelroot and then installed TWRP with Autorec. I noticed though that the TWRP is 3.7 that was installed.
I decided to go with the resurection rom. I tried to flash and am getting "Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset." I am wondering if this is because of my version of TWRP or actually my underlying D80020c rom?
Sorry for a stupid question, I just do not want to mess my phone up again.
Thanks a ton!
Ithink that you have installed an outdated twrp. Install the latest 2.8.7.1 and try to download again the zip of resurrection rom. Remember to use the correct bootstack(for the resurrection choose the loki version)

OK I was thinking it might have been the version of TWRP, its odd though. I used AUTOREC which people recommend and it only installs that version.
UGH, where am I worrying about the right bootstack? Sorry its been so long since I have been in the flashing scene and after just hard bricking this each step I want to verify like 5 times. I just wanted to get the OTA updates but that was a fail.
Where am I picking the bootstack? With the version of TWRP?
Thanks and sorry to sound dumb. I promise I am not.

OK So update TWRP
Install bootstack first before ROM? You recommended Loki, but it says something about jellybean on there. I am currently on KK.
Thanks
Loki is the exploit used to bypass the locked bootloader. The bootstack that use this exploit had a JB bootloader so don't worry. You must flash in this order: bootstack> ROM> gapps> reboot
Whelp, I think it is bricked again. UGH. I installed latest TWRP. Verified it was on there. Downloaded Bootstack. Went into TWRP, loaded the zips up to flash, saw it said again the error about Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or factory reset. Now it is just a black screen.
YEP, bricked again. I can get into the download mode at least this time and when I boot otherwise I get the QHSUSB_BULK issue. This is just wonderful, I have never had such issues with older phones as I am with this G2.
I feel I am back to square one again. I can go into download mode and install 20c again through the TOT but I have no idea what I did wrong. Obviously this time the bootstack is what seemed to destroy things, am I wrong?
Thanks
This's very strange. Nave you flashed the correct files for your model?
All the files I had downloaded were for the d800. Is it because I am on version d80020c vs latest 20y?
Could it be where I had the files located?
The error I am seeing is seeming like a version error.
A simple question: did you have this problem flashing any rom?
I havent tried any other ROMS yet with TWRP. Maybe I should Will try that.
Try a stock based rom (cloudly g2 2.2) that are the most stable and remember to flash a kk bootloader
I am already on KK with 4.4.2 I would still need another KK bootstrap to go to KK again? Sorry I just know this is where I am messing up. Could I not go to Cloudy 3.3?
Thanks so much for answering my dumb questions.
I've been having issues with my phone, and I'm not sure if this is a HW issue or not, but no matter what I do, either I lose recovery or get a security error. I poked around and found some instructions in the CloudyG3 thread. They're for 3.0 but I would guess 3.3 wouldn't be different enough to brick this thing. Can't remember who the quote is from, I just copy/pasted it, but here it is:
Some of you sent me a PM asking for the install instructions on D800 and this is how you install CloudyG2 3.0:
Downloads:
1. Download CloudyG2 3.0 - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95897840722646001
2. Download Patch - https://mega.co.nz/#!sVY0mRTb!qn7S9B...3m_QpMQkgzunn0
3. Download Signal Patch - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...l_Variants.zip
4. Download LP Baseband - http://blastagator.ddns.net/modem.php - d800-30f-modem-blastagator-signed.zip
5. Download KK Bootstack - http://blastagator.ddns.net/bootloader.php - bootstack-d800-KK_20c-blastagator-signed.zip
6. Optional: Download JB Bootstack in case if you want to revert the installation process and go back to your current ROM - http://blastagator.ddns.net/bootloader.php - bootstack-d800-JB_10d-blastagator-signed.zip
Flashing Process:
1. Backup the existing ROM (including EFS, Modem, etc.) in TWRP - very important and copy it over to the computer, just in case!
2. Wipe System + Data + Cache + Dalvik Cache - Do NOT select internal storage as it contains all your downloaded files + backups!
3. Flash KK Bootstack (downloaded from Step 5)
4. Flash LP Baseband (downloaded from Step 4)
5. Flash CloudyG2 3.0 (downloaded from Step 1) - Leave the default in Aroma when you have to pick the variant. Do NOT reboot the device as the patch installation (next Step) is very important.
6. Flash Patch (dowloaded from Step 2) - Select your variant.
7. Flash Signal Patch (downloaded from Step 3)
8. Reboot
Enjoy!

I'm guessing I have the incorrect files, most of the links I found in the thread with these instructions didn't seem to work so I Googled for them, maybe I don't even have the correct files. I took a screenshot in cmd of the exact filesizes.
Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Coming off a fresh TOT flash, I root with towelroot, flash TWRP using AutoRec, flash bootloader, then flashed Cloudy. It will boot at first, but then I run into "black screen of death" or security errors or when trying to boot to recovery, I'll run into similar issues. Does Blastagator's TWRP make the difference here?

I had the exact problem happen to me ....... I got the black screen of death .... phone wouldnt boot ....... and when i used the kk bootloader i would lose recovery ..... I was coming from kk to CloudyG2 ....
This is how i solved.
1. Flashed back to stock, stumproot to root Autorec v1 for bootloader
2. used Flashify to upgrade to 2.8.7.1 ( its now 2.8.7.3)
3. Downloaded n used bumpted LP bootstack and flashed blastagator stripped rom (its in flashable zip and installs everythin including modem .... patches etc EVERYTHING) http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-g2/development/rom-stock-lollipop-30b-stripped-t3144195
4. Downloaded kk bootstack , CloudyG2 3.3 and clean flashed in recovery
I have been enjoying Cloudy ever since ...... D800
Thanks all, got it running! Cloudyfa has done some absolutely brilliant work here with this ROM, as well as xdabbeb with the advanced camera driver and xCam. I'm usually a vanilla-or-nothing guy with my Android ROMs but this one is quick and power efficient. The KitKat ROM that shipped with the phone was super bloated and gross, but I'll admit LG UX 4.0 isn't really that offensive, plus I like the goodies like Multi-Window and QuickRemote. Once I disabled/hid some of the remaining LG bloat, it's surprisingly pleasant and not really that far from AOSP aesthetically. Again, cheers to those who provided the assist on this one for me!
... now my only question is, should I try CloudyG3?
I ran some troubles whilst was turning my android version 4.4.4 into a 8.1, TWRP helped me with the whole process (if it wasn't by those guys i'd have a bricked phone for sure). While fixing things and figuring out all the misstepped nuances on my end it come to my understandment that TWRP 2.7.1, while funcional, was flawed; since the newer versions could get rid of the necessity of dealing with adb and some weird glitches that not even 5.53785% of the internet community has dealt (or at least expressed) in the past. Errors like "broken pipes" or closed doors on a DMZ connection were spreading the adb sideload route that i had avaliable. For that reason i decided to upgrade TWRP, followed these instructions to the heart paying attention to the warning that 2.8.4 version would be needed if i want a recover-mode route for said upgrade, which made me go for the googleplay manner. My mistake was not backuping the image of the working 2.7.1 version which was in place, i've neglected such feature and gone straight to the 'download and flash' an image, which i opted for getting the 2.8.4 planning on upgrading the remanescent versions directly on recovery-mode. I never came to celebrate such accomplishment since the change of 2.7.1 to 2.8.4 via rooted TWRP app made my recovery-mode to BSoD. Ever since i've tried downgrading to 2.7.1 again to see if would at least return to the old point but i ran outta luck here. Whats the best course of action to take right now? Straight up overwrite it using this. Delete and reinstall?
TLDR::: had TWRP 2.7.1, without making backup of the working stance, installed 2.8.4 image via googleplay official app (rooted), got as result? a bricked, black recover-mode screen. Atempted to reroll to 2.7.1 by downloading it on said app, didn't worked, BSoD stay still when recovery-mode is choosen. What to do to get, if not the newest version of TWRP, at least the 2.7.1 back?
First, flash the latest stock OS (Android 5.1.1), then flash the latest TWRP (twrp-3.2.1-0-mako.img) and proceed with flashing selected rom from there.
Edit: don't use some 3rd party flashing tools, they tend to be broken and/or oudated.

Thing is: i'm now using nitrogen 8.1 Oreo, which i manage to flash via a working 2.7.1 TWRP plus the flashing tool that i've used was the one provided and advised by TWRP team themselves, the one official on googleplay. I'm up to downgrade android 8.1 to 5.1.1 but how to do it? (considering that i can't access the recovery-mode)
EDIT: perhaps you're saying for me NOT to use something like this?
I always use Skipsoft android toolkit to flash stock/custom roms.

This thread is over :victory:
This problem is now solved. Thank you both for taking time to express some light on my troubles, thanks for answering my plea.
HOWTO: Talking with a correspondent of official TWRP i was advised to download and flash on the official app (googleplay app, just as before) the previous version version 2.7.0 (considering my last working version was 2.7.1) to see the results. It managed to get me back a working recovery-mode screen and from there, i made the needed IMG backup and recovery backup before following the next step: downloading 3.2.1 straight from 2.7.0 (bold, if you'd ask me, but since i got 2.7.0img backup saved this time, i feared no trouble :highfive and IT WORKED!
Hello all, I have recently run across InvisibleK's ROM for the VK810, with LineageOS 14.1! This is my first post after years of lurking XDA, and thought to make a thread here since this is not mentioned anywhere. It appears to function normally on my VK810, but took a bit of finagling to get it to install correctly. For the most part, this ROM is pretty buttery smooth for being on such an old tablet, and it breathed new life into my old G Pad 8.3.
My steps to installing:
0. Get on 11A/Android 4.2.2 using a KDZ, or, if you are already, just go to step 1.
1. FROM 11A/Android 4.2.2, Root and install TWRP 2.8.7.0, following the guide in the forum
2. Wipe everything except internal storage/SD Card
3. Install the ROM
4. Install GAPPS
5. Reinstall recovery (TWRP 2.8.7.0)
While installing, the ROM's ZIP threw a few errors but it was still successful. The only things that seem to not work is cellular -- the cameras work, however, I have not tested Bluetooth.
URL to where the ROM is:
download invisiblek org/roms/lineage-14.1/vk810/
EDIT: I got it to install, but a heads up this kills the accelerometer.
Anyone have another download to this? It doesn't appear to still be present on the original linked site
edit: found it, updater invisiblek org/vk810
Hello Invisiblek. I have a Vk810 that I have flashed to your Android 9 lineage_vk810-userdebug 9 PQ3A.190705.003 1388 dev-keys. Ver. 16.0-20190726-UNOFFICIAL-vk810.
But here I am stuck. If I try and flash any newer roms, my tablet freezes during boot not getting past the Vz preload screen. If I try and flash the twrp in your repository for flasing these roms, I get the Security check error and cannot boot recovery or rom. I was able to use twrp 3.3.0 to get this far.
Got any tips to get me past this point?
(I started by doing a fresh .tot flash of 4.2.2. Then used Stump root to root. DD'd twrp 2.8.7 to recovery.
Started in 2.8.7. Updated twrp to 3.3.0. Restarted into twrp. Wiped everything but Internal Strg/Sdcard.
Flashed Rom (current), reflahed twrp 3.3.0 just in case then restarted.
Trying to flash any Romz newer then this results in only being able to boot to twrp. Flashing vk810-recovery-eng_bumped.img results in Secure boot error for twrp and ROM.
Am I running into any 64/32 bit problems? I hate being stuck on a 32 bit rom
