Hi
I have rooted G935F (G935FXXU1APC8) with TWRP recovery and xposed. How can I install latest OTA without losing data?
I know that I will have to flash xposed but what about recovery and root?
Hello.
You won't be able to download OTA as it's only available for stock and non rooted devices

Flash the baseband if you want the newer version or a newer rom like echoerom.
I have the same issue. Does samsung have something like sony pc comparison? I had a Sony z2 before the s7 edge and I could make the update with the data cable and that sony pc software even if I was roosted. It's true true. I lost root every time but it was easy to update.

So you have all options required to do what you need within the all such as wipe etc. If flashing any firmware, yes you'll have to reflash xposed. The great thing about the app is that you can put it in a queue to do it all at once so wipe, flash new firmware, flash xposed, done.

On a related note I have an EE EVR build, could I switch to BTU or would that create issues for my device? I ask because the BTU firmware is more up to date than the EE.

But will Odin go back to older firmware? Or are you stuck on PH1 bootloader? Thx for confirmation.
Probably stuck, but you should still be able go between the latest U and V firmwares. I am giving up on a non engboot root method. Sammy signed that kernel so it should always flash and permit root. But, that's not a well educated guess...

You can't. The only reason we can is because we have a leaked engineering kernel that allows root. Sadly Verizon killed root on the S6 about a year ago.

Hello, I just tried rooting my verizon s7 edge on the ph1 update using the link someone on this thread provided to someone else and am now stuck in a bootloop with the verizon logo stuck on the screen. How did you achieve root on yours? by using the same steps? Also, what do you think could have possibly went wrong and how would I be able to fix this? Your help would be much appreciated.

If you're stuck on the boot logo, you HAVE TO factory reset the device. When I rooted this happened to me and after doing the factory reset, it worked like a charm

When I was stuck, I did and the factory reset and it booted up right and I didn't have to re-flash the kernel. If dosen't boot up right away, re-flash stock firmware, don't dis able anything, then flash the kernel and it will work .

Oh ok, well hopefully it boots right up. lol So I really haven't been into rooting and flashing roms for awhile now so Id thought I give it a try on this phone. What would you say would be best for performance/stability/battery life as far as roms go? Or do you just stick with stock? i do not do a whole lot on my phone and I also don't really use much of the features that came along with the s7 edge. i just use it for light gaming/social media/picture taking. So I guess what I am asking is what is your recommendation?

My personal experience is some modules don't work well with Emui and even lag and/or increase battery consumption of the phone. Hiding root or greenify, for example, are a hit or miss.

Doesn't work for me. Think I tried everything. Including the instructions here to mount system and flash supersu or flash update, factory reset, supersu + update. I tried with and without boot patch.
1)Flash 7.0 from odin
2)Install latest twrp image for your s6 model
3)Install magisk root latest zip https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445 in twrp
reboot.
After reboot install Magisk Manager from play store.
In addition to the above steps giving you root on 7.0 with your s6, it will also fix any DRK error/issues you may have.
