I came across a secret code for samsung new phones and it seems to rest something in the battery and do imrpove afterwards.
Can somebody confrim that?

When you type it in, you'll see a quick start tap, people did report a sudden decrease in battery % but after charging it gave more SOT
I just tried it and it didnt change the % for me, maybe because my battery is well calibrated

I believe it's Amps D.C. Charging rate perhaps?
That's interesting.
If you do it, you'll see what it is. It's for wiping battery calibration. It won't do it unless you press the button though, so can can bring it up without changing anything.
Personally, I wouldn't. it's not a magical way to improve battery life.
I would recommend not to do this as it can mess your battery stats. I knew of someone that did this and when his phone was fully charged it would suddenly jump from 100% to 20% and would die very quickly. It seemed to correct itself over time but he definately regretted doing it.
which code (or is there a code) that displays and maybe even allow to change which frequency bands are active (unlocked/locked)? Because I strongly believe Samsung modem would have the ability to access all bands but lock them out per region... similar to DVD region code.
I just used this code after replacing my Galaxy S6 battery. The new battery was behaving weirdly beforehand and even after a factory reset. The battery percentage drops to 98% immediately after I have fully charged my phone and the battery will drain very quickly with SOT of maybe 2 Hours. It also stays at 1% for a very long time. After using the code and pressing the Quick Start button, the battery % behaves normally and I am back to getting close to 4 hours SOT, which is good enough for me.
Warning
"Fuelgauge will be reset, causing battey capacity to be inaccurate. Do NOT use it unless it is written in your test procedure."
I guess it will discard the actual current reference the ROM has from the battery and try to guess / learn a new one.
Maybe this is because the current sensor or the battery become innacurate over time and with some type of algorithm the ROM learn the behavior of the current response and correct it to the more real valor possible.
Hi friend, how are you doing? I hope it is well with you
I have Samsung Galaxy s7 edge, but I cant use it cause is not performing well, it's too slow and it's hanging always! What code I can press to flash it with out computer?

I was looking at some of the items in the debug test menu.
I decided to see if toggling ciphering would help with edge/3g network throughput. I've been struggling with 3g/edge speed (the flip flop thing was fixed in the first radio update by google).
So I went into the debug test menu at *#*#4636#*#* and toggled ciphering off. I'm now getting 2x better speed on Edge here at work. ~150kbps vs ~80 to timeouts with it off.
I ran the test 3times with off, 3 times with on, then 3 more with off. I used speed test with same destination selected. The phone was at the exact same position on my desk. I know there is some overhead with ciphering, but THIS much?
BTW, using stock rom with all stock updates (Only applied -update1)
Follow these steps to change a simple setting in the GPS system that prevents it from eating away at your battery. It has NO NEGATIVE effect on GPS performance. In fact, my GPS works extremely well despite the misleading 30m bug.
Turn on your GPS (from the Status Curtain or Power Control widget).
Open Dialer on your phone and type in *#1472365#.
Tap on "Setup".
Tap on "Position Mode".
Tap on "Starting Mode".
Select "Cold Start".
Another way to prevent unnecessary power usage (Until Samsung fixes this which I suggest people complain to them about) is to disable your EV-DO data connection.
I do it manually though these steps:
Open Dialer and type in *#4636*1111#
Tap on "Phone information"
Press the Menu button
Tap on "More"
Tap on "Disable data connection"
To restore the data, just follow the same steps but the menu will show "Enable data connection"
Other methods are to use the free version of JuiceDefender (Cancel the useless installation of AOSP helper).
Disconnecting data still allows phone calls and text messages to go through. This is perfect for people who have good 4G and WiFi coverage so you'll never be without data and still get good battery life.
Please keep this thread clean of any questions, if you need help just PM me. Only report any feedback or suggestions in here.

Solutions not working. Did you test for long enough? 24 hours at least with no reset? Restarts clear cache as does any manipulation *#1472...
My tests show ANY manipulation of *#1472... flushes expired but stuck xtra data so teh poofs are not really valid since you get an instant lock if you change it to cold start and back to hot.
make sure to check after one day with no resets (which flush xtra cache and give you an immediate fix anyway.) I have been testing warm start for 48 hours and thought I was ok, but in fact once emphermis expired, typcial situation of 8 to 11 seen, none in use.
Also staying in same place will render ephemeris checking less valid.
I have three Epics devices. I have been experimenting with old, one warm and one hot, reset, take a fix tonight, turn off gps call applications, and see which are holding expired ephemris and not fixing those seen 10 hours later from a different location.
What I know for sure is of the four Epic location problems*, the main one, seeing sats and not using them, is a clear symptoms of expired xtra data (epehmeris. almanac, and sometimes net time.)
I have been reading for the last few days this:
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=pl...s.git;a=blob;f=loc_api/libloc_api/loc_eng.cpp
It seems gpstest (author:Lookwood) does have a function to clear xtra but it is not workign on Epic. I beleive the call in android would be
" loc_eng_delete_aiding_data (GpsAidingData f)"
Other notes:
1)It seems omniaII had a similar problem.
2) forcing cold start is not an optimum solution anyway as absent network xtra data source (a sprint connection), aka standalone gps maybe will be forced to pull almanac at each and every LBA gps call, meaning unnecessarily long times before acquisition (TTFF) in true standalone
*Epic location problems I am seeeing
1) GPS. Failure to flush invalid and expired xtra (*ephemeris and almanac)
2) GPS. mediocre to poor SNR ranges
3) GPS: invalid accuracy (false number hardcoded not dynamically calculated)
4) cell based: occasional abject failure to produce location from network alone.
A proper tuning it seems to me is setting the TIMING of the xtra data flush coordinated with QOS timing of a renewed xtra data attempt if Epic sees sats but you cant get a fix in say 2 minutes.
Has anyone come across a way to shut down the phone side without using flight mode?
I spend most of my time on wifi and I'd like to save the battery that's being used for cell standby. I know I can have flight mode on and then reactivate wifi but it seems like the long way around.
I found a solution and thought I'd share in case anyone else wants to save the phone radio battery usage while on wifi and isn't aware of this setting;
The radio can be switched off by dialing *#*#4636#*#* and selecting 'phone info' then switching the radio off at the bottom half of the page. You can also create a shortcut to 'phone info' issuing Any Cut to simplify the process.
I have an Optimus V, but have seen many, many posts dealing with this issue in a number of different threads, but haven't seen an automated fix for the data drop/time without signal/battery usage issues many people have been experiencing that seem to be related. I'm aware of the fix50 app that seems to take care of the TWS issue for me but does nothing for the data problems or rapid battery draining. I have had good luck with the following procedure posted by abcdfv in the "[How-To] Better battery life, reduce time without signal" thread:
NOTE: when you first open the testing menu, it will show it as CDMA auto (prl). This is a visual glitch, in reality, it is set to GSM auto (prl). If your TWS is around 50%, it means it's GSM auto (prl)
First things first, go into Settings> About Phone> Battery> Battery Use> Cell Standby. Assuming your phone has been on, or off the charger for ~10 minutes, it should show Time Without Signal at around 50%.
Next thing, press HOME, and bring up the dialer. Dial *#*#4636#*#* (Do not press "Call"). After a second, it should bring up the "Testing" menu.
Go into Phone Information, press MENU, and tap "select radio band." You should experience a Force Close, don't panic, this was supposed to happen. Scrolling down shows that the preferred network type is GSM auto (prl).
What this means is that even though you are connected to a CDMA network, your phone is trying to find a GSM network, preventing the radio from sleeping, and causing excessive battery drain.
Remedy this by tapping GSM auto (prl), and changing it to CDMA auto (prl).
Now your done, your TWS should drop dramatically, and you should experience much better battery life!
Note: You need to do this every time you reboot.

My question is this- has anybody developed a script or app to automatically do this process? If not, would anybody know how to tackle such a thing? I did find a post over on another forum with a script to periodically check for network connectivity and toggle data off and back on if a connection wasn't present, but I'm really more interested in something that would just run at startup, like the fix50 app, but would do the process listed above instead of a simple Airplane Mode toggle. I did install Any Cut and at least now have a shortcut to the testing menu, but it would be great to have something automated.
Thanks in advance!
Man- I think this is the most popular post on the xda forum!

Hello all,
so,
I have a samsung galaxy note 3 n9005, but one thing does not work, the GPS ...:crying:
- Google MAP, with wifi or 3G / 4G I have approximate positioning.
without WiFi or mobile data, no GPS signal, but the GPS icon appears in the notification bar
I tried everything I've seen on the web, flash a new ROM, Kernel, Modem ... nothing to do.:crying::crying:
It worked very well under the official rom SFR, but nothing since. and can not go back
Currently, I can not change a Modem
It always strikes me: N9005XXUGNG1
Thank you for your help

The common fix is, rollback to stock, enable GPS, install custom rom, it'll lock...
But you're saying you can't go back!
I'm on stock though
On dialer you type in * # 0011 # this USSD
Press the menu key> press back
Press the menu key> press the key input> Q
Press the menu key> press the key input> 0000
Wait for a few seconds and the screen will change options
Press on UMTS
Press on Common
Press on NV Rebuild
Press on NV Rebuild
Press on System, Protocol, GPS, IMS
Wait for 30 seconds and then shutdown your phone
Power On phone
GPS should work fine now
Recommend to use GPS STATUS app to reset and download AGPS Date
It should not be your ROM, I mean the chance is very minimal.
As I said previously, Note 3, for whatever reason depends on A-GPS data a lot. So it's actually normal that you are not getting a lock when there's no data. Do one thing, keep the data enabled, go outside, get a strong lock. Then disable data, and see. I think it should work. Assisted GPS data doesn't stay on device for long as far as I know. I think it gets cleared up at every reboot.
Download app GPS Status. By default the A-GPS download data I think is set at 12 hours interval or something, just set it to 6 hours or something.
PS: One more thing, I found a bug while using Google Maps, I saw that the GPS icon (in status bar) kept blinking as if my GPS was still trying to get a lock. Yet in practicality the phone already got a lock! I understood that by seeing Endomondo Pro (a fitness app which I use to track my walking and cycling) was showing as "GPS excellent", while that icon kept flashing on status bar. From that day I don't believe that notification any more. I only depend on apps like GPS Status from now.
My situation is that GPS doen't work in ANY S5 port.
It works in Lollipop as well as othes kitat rom thogh. :crying:
Any idea?
