I'm a rookie about ROM things, i was using venom rom on my M9 and i thought it could work on M9+ too After flashing Venom rom it's restarting continuously after HTC logo shows up, Download Mode is the only thing working on my phone now, that's why i stuck in it but now thanks to @yvtc75 i can flash the original rom again.

As you probably all know, the Advanced Hack Kit (a.k.a Hack Kit) has been retired for good yesterday. Does that mean that you can not achive root privilege anymore? NO
NO, YOU DON'T NEED S-OFF TO FLASH ROMS....
Getting root acces
Unlock your bootloader with HTCDEV or using this tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133336
Then flash CWM or 4ext recovery in fastboot per this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30020025&postcount=7 and make a nand backup.
Then reboot into recovery and flash SU or SuperSU.
Reboot the device and voilá. You are done
IF YOUR BUILD VERSION IS NOT SUPPORTED TO UPDATE THEN:
Create a goldcard using this tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970157 (you need a working phone for this)
Find a RUU which main version is supported and higher than yours and flash it in the PD98IMG.zip way, that is what is the goldcard for.
Re run the tool and you will be able to update the hboot and unlock it
The other way to achive root access is to flash a custom rom after unlocking the bootloader.
As you can notice root access is easy to be gained but not S-OFF. If you are skilled in android and working with terminal or cmd commands, then you can use this: http://tau.shadowchild.nl/attn1/?p=411
Flashing roms with an unlocked bootloader
Unlock your bootloader and flash a custom recovery (CWM or 4ext)
Download the rom zip file you are willing to flash to your PC.
Extract the the boot.img from inside the zip file (do not extract the whole rom)
Put the zip file in your sdcard.
Boot into recovery and do a full wipe (wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, format system)
Flash rom (install zip from sdcard)
Reboot into bootloader again and plug the phone to the PC.
You need to be in fastboot usb (if you see HBOOT USB PLUG in the phone, just press power to toggle)
Open a cmd/terminal and navigate to where the boot.img file is located.
Type: fastboot flash boot boot.img If you don´t how to do that, watch this video (it is in spanish, thou you can follow it without listening to the instructions)
Reboot and now you should be enjoying your custom rom
Rooting without the Ace kit!
Hi there
Is there a thread or some sort of a step by step manual on how to install ROM with unlocked boot loader (s on) without ace advance hacking kit or perhaps a working method where you can install CWM on a Gingerbread. (I have successfully unlocked the boot loader on htcdev)
Thanks a million

Check the guide in my signature, you will find the information you need in there. Don't forget to flash the boot.img of the custom rom in fastboot. Enjoy...
Not registering to mobile network!
Thanks Glevitan
I found the manual and all went smooth and easy. I have one problem though.
The phone does not register to any mobile network. Any idea how to bypass that? It was originally locked on Orange UK network.
Thanks again

I flashed it many times these two ROM's after Ace Kit without any issues. Also I noticed that every time I restart the phone it requires the network unlocking code. It is weird!
the pdf file to flash a custom rom/recovery, i dont understand.. how exactly do i flash a custom rom?? for example codefirex??
Hello,
I try to unlock my bootloader with HTCDEV or by using that tool but have some problems.
At step 8 (HTCDEV) Type in Command Prompt: fastboot oem get_identifier_token
After that you should see a long block of text. But I only get this:
<bootloader> [ERR] Command error !!!
OKAY [ 0.016s]
finished. total time: 0.016s
what's going wrong? what can I do?

Your build nor your hboot version support unlocking the bootloader. You can try updating the hboot manually by flashing 0029 hboot. However that is a dangerous process. Otherwise, you can create a goldcard and flash a RUU with a Main version that supports the update.

Phone: DHD, 3.20.502.52, ATT
I have successfully unlocked the phone (via HTCDev)
And have successfully rooted the phone.
I installed the ROM Manager and Titanium Backup.
I have the ADB drivers successfully installed on my computer.
I also have HTC Quick Root running on my computer.
I am NOT able to get the CWM Recovery installed on the phone. I always get a " /cache/recovery..." error.
I've searched and read a number of threads that have indicated the DHD Gingerbread is particularly difficult to get ROM Manager fully working. I tried the process outlined here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39016279), using the easyunlock tool. the script appears to run fine, i've even gone through the redundant step of putting the unlockcode received from htcdev into the tools directory and allowing the script to complete, which it appears to do fine. However, the script indicates the phone should execute some commands as a final step, at which point my phone is already sitting in the bootloader menu and does nothing.
I'm reasonably comfortable with ADB commands and the terminal emulator on the phone.
Can anyone help me understand why I'm failing and what I might do to get the CWM Recovery installed and get ROM Manager working?
My end goal is to install a more battery efficient ROM.

Hey guys,
I'm new to learning about the technical details of the Android system, and specifically my MOTO RAZR M. Yesterday my phone lost power, then was sent into a boot loop. The only functional feature from the boot menu is the AP Fastboot function. All the other options just take me back into the boot loop. Ive tried RSD, and Droid utility, with no success. All of them return an error and "FAIL." My guess would be that i'm tying the wrong version? If anyone can give me a point in the right direction, or any assistance at all, that would be great. Thanks!
IDK if this information helps, but here it is

When trying to use RSD lite to flash VZW_XT907_4.1.2-9.8.1Q-66_1FF.xml, i ge tthe following on the phone:
update gpt_main version failed

RSD lite stops at 1/19 with a similar message.
Okay, you're getting that message because you're flashing an older FW. Flash FE the same or newer as what was on your phone.

Hey guys, I used house of moto with the 4.4.2 file, and was successfully able to restore my phone. Thanks for the help!
I had a similar issue with my XT905 (Australian RAZR M)
Lost power due to a dead battery, and after it charged and started up, it entered a continuous boot loop. I could access recovery and the bootloader, so I attempted to reinstall multiple firmwares using fast boot, RSD Lite, or through a recovery (CWM and TWRP) but had no luck booting any. This was a week or so ago.
Just found this thread today and as I've never used the HouseOfMoto utitlity I thought I'd give it a shot. I installed the stock Telstra jellybean firmware using it and it successfully booted an OS for the first time. I can only assume the HouseOfMoto utility installs ROMs in a different fashion from RSD Lite. Had to be a jellybean ROM as the kitkat bootloader isn't out for the XT905 yet.
If anyone else has a similar issue please give this method a shot.

Hello friend, you must firstly flash stock recovery to OTA. On the top of that, you should have an unmodified system partition.

these as detailed by the howtos linked by the previous post, are not flashable from custom recovery. You need stock recovery not a custom like TWRP.
Or rather be using Fastboot tool from a PC, that's the most convenient in your situation i think

But why? Android file host, or mega, or any of the other common sites? When you look at the board index of that site, there are a lot of zero post sections. It's kinda like a low rated Ebay seller....you just say hmmm.
Why not mirror links, the download is free after registration anyway, xda is a free community. So basically you are spamming xda for your own satisfaction ? Why always so mysterious.......just share. Get the links up and share the help other users can use too. Don't turn it around.
I can upload it in 15 minutes and wouldn't ask for any registration.

HTC one M8 Bricked
Hi Guys,
Requesting for help.
I have not done any modifications to the phone like rooting, install custom ROM etc. but my phone suddenly stopped working & all that i can see is the boot screen. Even if i try to hard reset or recovery it turns off and then restarts and gets stuck at the same screen. When i connect it to my Windows PC it powers up & shows FastBoot USB mode in RED.
I tried a combination of Volume & Power buttons together as i went through some blogs but still no luck.
Phone Details: HTC One M8

So will my phone work if i download this Official ROM & can you please provide the link to download this file.

No this will not help you, the best you can do is to get the 6.12.401 ruu exe or zip file. They are posted here on xda too.
This file (that was available) is not meant for your phone at all !
@Mr Hofs will u please provide the link of 6.12.401.4 ruu .exe link

Sure, here is the ruu.zip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=65839307
Check the thread for instructions. Basically you need to rename the .zip file and place in the root of the Sd Card, then boot into the boot loader and the rest will be done automatically.
Be aware that this will WIPE the entire phone !!!
thanx

Here is the 6.15.720.2 RUU.zip file !
0P6BIMG_M8_UHL_M60_SENSE70_MR_hTC_Asia_India_6.15.720.2
Some facts :
You have S-ON : You MUST relock the bootloader (fastboot oem lock) otherwise the RUU will fail !
You have S-OFF : No need to relock/lock the bootloader !
Hello Team, Please help me with ROM or RUU for below phone info
I had my phone rooted and installed TWRP recovery on it.
Now i am trying to go back stock and unroot, installed stock recovery and phone worked well, as soon as i locked the bootloader, the phone loads the first boot splash with red test for a second then shuts down.
If i Unlock the bootloader then it works fine.
Also, i tried factory reset from Stock Recovery but still the same problem.
The phone when booted properly i can always see TWRP application present in my phone even when the phone is on Stock recovery and Full Reset.
Please help.

Let it search for the microSD and the phone will update it self
