There is a Google drive link to which op has uploaded the file, but he has specifically requested not to mirror, so I'll share it only with his permission. @Rahul_Bhutani what do you say?

But why? Android file host, or mega, or any of the other common sites? When you look at the board index of that site, there are a lot of zero post sections. It's kinda like a low rated Ebay seller....you just say hmmm.

Why not mirror links, the download is free after registration anyway, xda is a free community. So basically you are spamming xda for your own satisfaction ? Why always so mysterious.......just share. Get the links up and share the help other users can use too. Don't turn it around.
I can upload it in 15 minutes and wouldn't ask for any registration.

HTC one M8 Bricked
Hi Guys,
Requesting for help.
I have not done any modifications to the phone like rooting, install custom ROM etc. but my phone suddenly stopped working & all that i can see is the boot screen. Even if i try to hard reset or recovery it turns off and then restarts and gets stuck at the same screen. When i connect it to my Windows PC it powers up & shows FastBoot USB mode in RED.
I tried a combination of Volume & Power buttons together as i went through some blogs but still no luck.

No this will not help you, the best you can do is to get the 6.12.401 ruu exe or zip file. They are posted here on xda too.
This file (that was available) is not meant for your phone at all !

@Mr Hofs will u please provide the link of 6.12.401.4 ruu .exe link

Sure, here is the ruu.zip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=65839307
Check the thread for instructions. Basically you need to rename the .zip file and place in the root of the Sd Card, then boot into the boot loader and the rest will be done automatically.
Be aware that this will WIPE the entire phone !!!

thanx

Some facts :
You have S-ON : You MUST relock the bootloader (fastboot oem lock) otherwise the RUU will fail !
You have S-OFF : No need to relock/lock the bootloader !

[How to] ROOT without the Hack Kit

As you probably all know, the Advanced Hack Kit (a.k.a Hack Kit) has been retired for good yesterday. Does that mean that you can not achive root privilege anymore? NO
NO, YOU DON'T NEED S-OFF TO FLASH ROMS....
Getting root acces
Unlock your bootloader with HTCDEV or using this tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133336
Then flash CWM or 4ext recovery in fastboot per this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30020025&postcount=7 and make a nand backup.
Then reboot into recovery and flash SU or SuperSU.
Reboot the device and voilá. You are done
IF YOUR BUILD VERSION IS NOT SUPPORTED TO UPDATE THEN:
Create a goldcard using this tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970157 (you need a working phone for this)
Find a RUU which main version is supported and higher than yours and flash it in the PD98IMG.zip way, that is what is the goldcard for.
Re run the tool and you will be able to update the hboot and unlock it
The other way to achive root access is to flash a custom rom after unlocking the bootloader.
As you can notice root access is easy to be gained but not S-OFF. If you are skilled in android and working with terminal or cmd commands, then you can use this: http://tau.shadowchild.nl/attn1/?p=411
Flashing roms with an unlocked bootloader
Unlock your bootloader and flash a custom recovery (CWM or 4ext)
Download the rom zip file you are willing to flash to your PC.
Extract the the boot.img from inside the zip file (do not extract the whole rom)
Put the zip file in your sdcard.
Boot into recovery and do a full wipe (wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, format system)
Flash rom (install zip from sdcard)
Reboot into bootloader again and plug the phone to the PC.
You need to be in fastboot usb (if you see HBOOT USB PLUG in the phone, just press power to toggle)
Open a cmd/terminal and navigate to where the boot.img file is located.
Type: fastboot flash boot boot.img If you don´t how to do that, watch this video (it is in spanish, thou you can follow it without listening to the instructions)
Reboot and now you should be enjoying your custom rom
Rooting without the Ace kit!
Hi there
Is there a thread or some sort of a step by step manual on how to install ROM with unlocked boot loader (s on) without ace advance hacking kit or perhaps a working method where you can install CWM on a Gingerbread. (I have successfully unlocked the boot loader on htcdev)
Thanks a million

I found the manual and all went smooth and easy. I have one problem though.
The phone does not register to any mobile network. Any idea how to bypass that? It was originally locked on Orange UK network.
Thanks again

CM-7.2.0-ace.zip and then I tried aospX-1.0.0-MR1-DHD.zip.
I flashed it many times these two ROM's after Ace Kit without any issues. Also I noticed that every time I restart the phone it requires the network unlocking code. It is weird!
the pdf file to flash a custom rom/recovery, i dont understand.. how exactly do i flash a custom rom?? for example codefirex??
Hello,
I try to unlock my bootloader with HTCDEV or by using that tool but have some problems.
At step 8 (HTCDEV) Type in Command Prompt: fastboot oem get_identifier_token
After that you should see a long block of text. But I only get this:
<bootloader> [ERR] Command error !!!
OKAY [ 0.016s]
finished. total time: 0.016s
what's going wrong? what can I do?

Your build nor your hboot version support unlocking the bootloader. You can try updating the hboot manually by flashing 0029 hboot. However that is a dangerous process. Otherwise, you can create a goldcard and flash a RUU with a Main version that supports the update.

Phone: DHD, 3.20.502.52, ATT
I have successfully unlocked the phone (via HTCDev)
And have successfully rooted the phone.
I installed the ROM Manager and Titanium Backup.
I have the ADB drivers successfully installed on my computer.
I also have HTC Quick Root running on my computer.
I am NOT able to get the CWM Recovery installed on the phone. I always get a " /cache/recovery..." error.
I've searched and read a number of threads that have indicated the DHD Gingerbread is particularly difficult to get ROM Manager fully working. I tried the process outlined here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39016279), using the easyunlock tool. the script appears to run fine, i've even gone through the redundant step of putting the unlockcode received from htcdev into the tools directory and allowing the script to complete, which it appears to do fine. However, the script indicates the phone should execute some commands as a final step, at which point my phone is already sitting in the bootloader menu and does nothing.
I'm reasonably comfortable with ADB commands and the terminal emulator on the phone.
Can anyone help me understand why I'm failing and what I might do to get the CWM Recovery installed and get ROM Manager working?
My end goal is to install a more battery efficient ROM.

I was in the Recovery menu. According to information I'm looking for my phone for OTA update files. Thank you in advance for your friends to help you.
Hello friend, you must firstly flash stock recovery to OTA. On the top of that, you should have an unmodified system partition.

these as detailed by the howtos linked by the previous post, are not flashable from custom recovery. You need stock recovery not a custom like TWRP.
Or rather be using Fastboot tool from a PC, that's the most convenient in your situation i think

Symptoms of Dead Boot-Loader
--------------------------------------------------------------
Due to corruption of the Boot-Loader by many reasons, Qualcomm devices enters mode called (Qualcomm Emergency Download Mode),
So, when you connect the device to PC, You'll see something like this in the device manager,
------------------------------------------
Download Section
------------------------------------
Here is the full mmcblk0.img backup i've made and tested myself to unbrick alot of 816W,
mmcblk0.img
-----------------------
Here is the tool we're going to use to write the img file into the SD card,
Win32DiskImager
----------------------------
Unbrick Guide
---------------------------
Summary of the process
-------------------------------------------------
We will write an backup of mmcblk0 from a working device (same as the dead one) to an SD Card (same size as the internal memory),
Then we put that SD into the phone and let it boot from the SD Card,
Then we flash the phone with it's Official Firmware,
That's it
Detailed Guide
------------------------------
1. Go to the Download section and download both (mmcblk0.img and win32diskimager),
2. Connect 8GB SD Card to PC via SD Card Reader,
3. Setup Win32DiskImager and Run it,
4. From Win32DiskImager do as this image,
5. Just let it finish, Then disconnect the SD Card,
6. Make sure the device's battery is well charged,
7. Put the SD Card into the phone,
8. Now try to boot into bootloader mode by pressing,
Vol- & Power button
9. After few seconds phone should boot into bootloader mode,
10. Now flash your phone according to your device info and case
(S-OFF, S-ON, SuperCID, BL Locked or Unlocked)
11. After flashing process finish, Your phone now is bootable working as it should be,
12. There is no 12, we're done ..
------------------------------------------------------
Final Word
---------------------
This method not only works with 816w, it should work for all Qualcomm devices, but you'll need the right mmcblk0.img backup.
I have tested this method myself with 3 phones, 2 of 'em are working fine now,
the third one powered on but it has a faulty EMMC so, it doesn't accept flashing, and here's one of the working,
----------------------------------------------------
I've been working on this for almost 3 days,
So, in case this guide was helpful for you,
Just hit "Thanks"
BEST REGARDS
----------------------------
Read mmcblk0 Guide
------------------------------------------
Here is how to read mmcblk0.img form a working phone,
1. Root the phone,
2. Install BusyBox
HTC devices doesn't accept regular "busybox",
so, we have to install it via "BusyBox on Rails",
and here is the premium version,
BusyBoxOnRails
3. Put an SD Card in the phone (8 or 16GB), then enable "USB Debugging",
4. Connect phone to PC and run this commands from PC one by one,
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard2/mmcblk0.img
5. Now reading process started and you have to wait for it to finish,
6. After process finish, you will have the "mmcblk0.img" file in your SD Card, Now just copy this file to your PC and follow the rest of the guide,
>>DONE

This guide for unbrick only, if you can't update your device via OTA, this is another story, which needs another way to go through!,
For the SD card problem, just use any HDD Partition tool (ex: EaseUS) to wipe and format it,

As you can see, "sdcard2" refers to the Micro SD Card inserted in the phone,
So, if you don't have SD Card inserted in the phone, change "sdcard2" to "sdcard1" so "mmcblk0.img" backup to Internal Storage,
After that you need to copy the mmcblk0.img file to PC and follow the reset of the guide,

Let's try something that may work,
According to your getvar output, your main ver is 1.58 which is KK(4.4.2),
Your cid is "J15" which is "Europe",
So, Just download this zip firmware, HERE
Now download and extract the attached file in the same folder where you downloaded the firmware,
Relock your bootloader using this command:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Now put your phone again in Fastboot mode,
Shift + Right click >> Open command window here .. from the folder which contains "htc_fastboot.exe and firmware",
Now type this commands one by one:
Code:
htc_fastboot.exe oem rebootRUU
Code:
htc_fastboot.exe flash zip [name of firmware]
Now just sit back and wait until flashing process completed,
Hope that works for you, as it's worked for me,
Best Regards

No, battery won't charge in that mode,
You may charge it using external power supply or desktop charger,
But you'll have to remove the back cover of the phone in order to remove the battery.

For charging, you can use any desktop charger,
But you have to be careful when you connect it to the desktop charger, as the battery's wires is very thin and can be easily damaged,
You'll need to connect two points, the positive(+) and the ground(-),
HTC 816's battery has two red wires which is the positive(+), and there is another two black wires which is the ground(-) points,

It doesn't take that long,
Start the process over and make sure you're using a good cable, and good luck.

M9 Plus Android 6.0 Update Problem

Hi There,
First of all sorry for my bad english
I have a HTC M9Plus which I had rooted and had installed Clean Slate Rom on it...
now as I understand we can not update custom roms becuase they change the system partition size and also becasue of custom recovery namely TWRP.. so in order to have successfull update I should :
1. restore stock recovery
2. unroot my phone
3. install a stock RUU ( not OTA )
now I several problem doing above steps and here are my questions :
1. is it possible to extract recovery from system update v. 2.27.401.1 which offered by htc on my device and install it on my device..
if yes how I should proceed ?
2. I refered to information show in download mode and bootloader to find the propper RUU ( I know there is a chance not finding propper ruu I gathered all information needed ) .. information is as bellow
0PK7IMG_HIAU_ML_TUHL_L50_SENSE70_HTC_Europe_1.08.4 01.6_Radio_1.1506V24P14.1605.0421_HT[W.T]_release_431201_signed.zip
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61801034&postcount=8
Download Mode : (Screeshot Attached)
htc_hiau_ml_tuhl PVT S-ON
LK-1.01.000 <<< what is this ?
OS-1.90.401.3
SN:-------
IMEI:------
Bootloader : ( Screenshot Attached )
HTC_HIAU_ML 128 S-ON
CID-HTC__J15
LK-1.01.0000 68332ab2
OS-1.90.401.3
as you see i can find the "mid" version which if I understood correctley is important to determine the proper RUU, even when I run the command "fastboot getvar all" against my device, it didnt returned any usefull information :
D:\Programs\Android\Platform Tools\platform-tools\platform-tools>fastboot getvar all
< waiting for device >
(bootloader) battery-status: good
(bootloader) max-download-size: 0x8000000
(bootloader) warranty: yes
(bootloader) unlocked: no
(bootloader) secure: yes
(bootloader) version: 0.5
all: Done!!
finished. total time: 0.007s
,so what should I do to fetch these required information from my phone ?
3. If I am correct knowing Radio version number is also required to determine the correct RUU, isnt it ? .. if so where shouuld I find it.
4. with these uncompelete information I have been trying to find a propper RUU and so far I found this one :
is this rom compatible with my phone or not ?
5. reading the forum, I found out that I can change the cid no which enables me to install RUUs from other regions, I came across to method for S-Offing my HTC devices : Java Card and sunshine software, I want to ask If any body did a s-off with one of these methods or not ?
6. last question : If I s-off the device and install a different region's RUU what are the consequences ?
I know it is to much to reply, but appreciate any help from other more experienced members..
oh I forgot .. I am from Iran and there is no HTC offcial service here in my country.
thnx for any help in advanced
