So I've had this phone now for probably 3 months or so, but ever since I got it I've had some issues with the battery life in general, but it has only gotten worse by time and it's driving me crazy. Right now I'm barely even able to go through a day of using the phone without having to bring a charger with me and re-fill the battery, even with only 2-3 hours of on-screen time at most (no games either, just social media like facebook and snapchat etc.).
I've tried many steps to try to fix the issues, at first I tried to restore my phone using Samsung Smart Switch and that did not help resolving the issue. I've also tried to disable apps using Package Disabler Pro and I've also disabled GPS and NFC, but that didn't help at all. Knox isn't tripped.
Is there anything more I can do, or shall I just get it sent back for repairs?
Here's some screenshots showing off the issue:

To be fair, if you're in Marshmallow that's pretty good...

Hi just wondering if anyone else has had a issue with the battery suddenly having reduced charge. Over the last few days my wife has been complaining about her phone discharging in only a few hours. I thought an app might be causing it but I've looked and can't find anything that would cause wakelocks. Now she's complaining that the phone has shutdown after showing a 70-80% charge and then when it started back up was nearly empty. Has anyone else experienced this or can recommend a possible fix please? I'm going to try a factory reset when I get home from work but would appreciate any advise.

That phone has one of the faulty batteries.
Call Samsung and get a free replacement
I recently came from AOSP ROM because my battery life was horrible. I'm not exactly sure what's going on. I really hoped it was the software but that doesn't seem to be the issue.

This is my third s5 and the problem still persists. I just want to get 5 hour of screen time like some people claim to get.
Any help is appreciated[emoji1] !
Probably all the live apps you have running in the background, your top taskbar is full of running apps

Sorry about that
Is it necessary to factory reset after lollipop update on my SM-G900H Galaxy s5? Because i havent observed any lags or battery drain (infact battery life has been pretty good) , but there is little bit of stutters here and there , and fingerprint scanner is taking a bit loong to recognize my fingerpint but chrome has been an a bit more sluggish after the update. So help me out as i heard people that it is mandatory as it clears old files, blah blah .

It's highly recommended, but if you're happy with the way it is running, it's not mandatory
For me, battery drain was a big issue before resetting, but there have been a few lollipop updates since then, so...
That's a very good battery backup I am never able to get more than 4 hour

Nothing in the battery stats is abnormal and the phone didn't wake up a lot yet I lost a ton of battery overnight. How do I find what caused it? Also is their anyway to tell if I have a defective battery? A lot of people here and at /r/motox seem to be getting better battery life. I can barely get 3 hours of sot over 10 or so hours. I really want to keep this phone but if this is going to be normal then I might as well go back to the Note 4.

Install System Panel and let it log the data for some time. I have the paid version, but I think the free version is similar.
I'm running on 5.1.1 COJ5 latest for my country:

So if you are on a stock firmware and you have good battery life i would love it if you told me what your version is so I can try it out. Or maybe if you have other suggestions.

Mybattery is similar to your issue I'm going to root my device this week and use a custom Rom but I'm told by many people to replace battery and don't use diffrent kind of chargers. I hope someone know the best way to keep this phone running cool and processing values decrease when focusing on 1app like reading in appygeek so battery extends longer. I'm pretty sure this can stay a full day if just browsing, reading and phone calling, chatting and some small video clips in whatsapp. Because right now I'm charging phone 2wice a day fullcharge.
