Hi friends,
I've just discovered an issue with my A5 2016, last firmware (issue was present before upgrade).
When you make a call, and immediately after you enable handfree, there is no sound coming from the bottom speaker during the connection phase (bip bip ...), only after your correspondant has answered.
If you enable handfree after the first connection tone has arrived (the first bip ...), it works normally.
Someone having this issue too ?
I've just retested, and the issue is worst than expected : when I activate handfree immediately, in some cases I have no sound out of speakers, neither up one nor bottom one, even after my correspondant has answered ...
I have to disable handfree to have sound back ...
Yeah, I can confirm.
Must be software related, thus.
I don't remember having such an issue out of the box, so I guess this is some king of regression in a recent firmware.
Found a workaround : in "call settings", "call alert", if I check "connection tone" I've got sound back as it should.
PS : Not sure of options names, I have a french phone.
Also if you do it twice (aloud on/off, aloud on) you get sound as well.

Hi , i was wondering if there is any way to have my XDA II , AUTOPICK Calls and automatically enable the HANDFREE speaker.
This will be great when you are driving or busy doing something else and the phone is away from you.
Yep, under the options of telephone, automatic answer without pressing a button afte x rings
Set-up, Telefoon, More (translated from German, so it could be a bit different)
Yes the option is there but it doesn't work. It doesn't pickup the phone automatically.
Have tried it with or without a BT headset but both with no result.
Mark
1. car bluetooth (07 TSX)
When i dial a number, i am not able to transfer to bluetooth until the receiving person picks up the phone. I have to keep watching the phone until the counter starts. Is it my car (07 TSX) or any car bluetooth.
When i was using EVO 3D, i would select bluetooth, i hear ringing sound, as soon as the phone connects, it changes to handset mode, then i will select bluetooth again. This was also annoying but could not help and it was usable.
2. the phone makes a "faling coins" sound through SPEAKER when i shake the phone (THIS IS ADDITIONAL TO MINOR RATTLING NOISE)
its gone when deselected " Dialpad touch tones" and it does not come even if i select it now.
I have not seen this before, is it normal or some kind of setting.
Hello. Sorry my English.
Hardware: Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos (KitKat 4.4.2 ANJ1 stock rooted), Plantronics Voyager Bluetooth Headset, Jabra Clear BT Headset. From november 2014 to may 2015 all was great, but suddenly I got a problem with the BT on my phone.
The problem is: in outcoming call: 1) I dial a number and begin a call 2) the call's sounds routed to a headset 3) When I hear "Allo" , the sound in headset suddenly goes to a phone's voice speakerphone, and BT-headset loses sound 4) sometimes sound and voice goes to phone while dialing a number or after some words from my friend that I called. The problem occurs completely at random, it can happen on the 1st time I dial or the 10th time, for example, or just every call. In incoming calls: 1) I receive a call with BT-Headset (push a button on it), firstly voice comes to BT-Headset, but it can disappears after some words from me or my friend.
When the sound disappears, I find that the BT-connection stays alive , and my S5 obeys the headset buttons commands (when I pressed the button on headset, the call disconnects. So, Galaxy S5 obeys the command from BT-Headset and BT connection stays alive while calling, but sound may disappears suddenly, and I must take my phone to the ear to complete a call. Both mic and voice sound goes from BT-headset to the phone's speakerphone. But I finde a feature: After sound disappears - when I double pressed the BT-button in the call window (off and on again bluetooth audio call channel), the sound brings back to the headset!!! So, I think, that the call app loses the sound from BT-Headset and suddenly routes it to the phone, but why?
I used a stock ANJ1 rooted for 6 month ago and had no problem, my apps setup didn't change for 6 month I owned a phone. Something happens, but what? How can I trace or parse the app that causes this problem? I think, one app from my setup trying to control the voice, so it disappears. Any suggestion?
What I tried: wipe phone and write the ANJ1 from Odin (BT works on the stock without apps), after this I bring back my backups from Titanium Backup (just user apps and data). I have Smart Booster and AFWall+ (android firewall - with my own rules), and have the EnhancedSMS and Caller ID. Freezes AFWall+ and SmartBooster - no changes, sound disappears. Any saggestions, please?
Hello gals and guys, you are my last hope.
I have a Galyxy S7 Edge G935F bought in Germany with no sim lock, i got it with G935FXXU1APAW, updated to G395FXXU1APC8. Yesterday i rooted it with CF-Auto-Root-hero2lte-hero2ltexx-smg935f based on XXU1APBF. I still have stock recovery.
The Problem:
Sometimes, while sleeping, the phone disables all sound.
This happens mostly while recharging, but it happened also while simply sleeping and not recharging. It is not reliably reproducable, sometimes the phone works for 2 or 3 days without the error occurring. Which makes the error very hard to find of course.
Sound off means: No media output is working (games, video, music), notifications are not sounding only vibrate, the phone doesn't ring when someone calls, just vibrates. No calls and notifications means, this is very severe.
When i plug in earphones or headphones, there is also no sound on the headphones. Putting in and pulling out the headphones does not reactivate the sound, so it seems not to be a problem with the headphone jack. The jack is very loose, though, doesnt hold the headphones strongly; but thats another problem.
The sound can be reactivated by the following:
- rebooting
- calling someone (i used to call my provider) or getting called (the first call gets lost, but when i get a second call, it works again)
- i installed an app called SoundAbout, which lets me route the sound to different outputs. I must first route media output to "earpiece" (the small loudspeaker you hold on your ear during calls) and then route the media back to "Speaker". Only this combination reactivates the sound again. Just activating "Speaker" or any other combination like for example first "Wired Phones" and then "Speaker" does not work. It must be "earpiece" and then "Speaker".
What i tried, without success:
- deleted all bluetooth devices
- disabled bluetooth
- enabled "prevent USB audio routing" in dev options
- uninstalled all kinds of apps having to do with sound or lockscreen
- played with all kinds of settings having to do with sound or lockscreen
I searched everywhere. A call to Samsung was not very helpful either. I might have to try a factory reset after all, but even if its good at factory, i still won't know the culprit.
But since the problem can be solved via software, i suspect it is software related or is at least diagnoseable via software.
Of course, it would be insanely awesome when someone could just present me the solution, but i would do all the debugging myself, if i only could.
I am a developer myself, but only on windows. My experiences on linux don't go much further than doing an "ls -la" on commandline and i am a total noob on android. I will not be afraid of using a terminal or adb, as long as i am guided a bit.
I hope, somebody can point me out how to diagnose and this thing.
Can one diagnose the current state of audio routing ? Can i manipulate it via commandline ? Are there other relevant components which i need to query ?
Could i write a script that pulls those queries every minute or so ?
And finally, if the wrong settings are found, are there log files which can point out who messed with those settings. Which apps would you recommend for those actions ?
Thanks to everyone in advance ...
Correction
just getting called doesn't fix anything. Only when i accept the call it gets fixed and then the next call rings again, of course. So this means, while the bug is active, i miss all calls.
During the last few weeks, I am having an issue with bluetooth audio during calls. The issue is exactly the same as another user in https es (dot) verizonwireless (dot) com
/sdcommunity/t5/Android-General/Bluetooth-audio-drops-from-headset-during-call-while-headset-and/td-p/1150368), so much so, that I used the same subject.
During a call, where I can speak and listen with the bluetooth headset, suddenly the audio begins to be routed to the phone itself (without any warning). The dialer UI still shows, wrongly, that the audio is being routed to bluetooth (the icon on the dialer is green). The fastest way to restore it during the call is to press the bluetooth button on the phone dialer (green to white) and again (white to green). Not very hands-free...
I have made a few tests and this is what I came up to:
- When it happens, the volume keys on the headset doesn't work, but the end-call button (on the headset) does (the call ends if pressed), so the headset is still connected to the phone.
- repairing, disabling media and contacts access (just enabling call access) on the bluetooth headset made no difference to the issue. Also restarting the phone, btw.
- As far as I can tell, it only happens with normal calls, since that is not happening with WhatsApp, Telegram, Skype or Hangouts calls.
- It happens randomly. Sometimes in a hour call it never happens, sometimes it happens 2, 3 times.
I was wandering if this is a new issue with the March 1 patch in S7 or something with my config.
I have:
Android: 8.0.0
Baseband: G935FXXS8ETC2
Build: R16NW.G395FXXS8ETC3
Patch level: March 1, 2020
If anyone experiences the same, has an idea, or something before I connect the device to the PC in debug mode to try to sort it out.
Best regards,
bluetooth drop
I was experiencing the same problem. I set "Nearby device scanning" to off, seems to have solved the issue.
