Mine is imported note 4..current version is android 5.1...I want to update to 6.0 official....is there any way for updating it....it's showing snapdragon processor in hardware info app...also it's rooted ...root checker it's showing root access..

Jeez dude! Provide more info about the exact model no.! G, F, whatever... There are only processors Snapdragon and Exynos!

Many other's variant have it but with a lot of bugs.

The SMG900F is the best supported model if you like rooting, flashing and modding and It also supports the download booster. It has a Qualcomm 801 Quadcore cpu.

International is a vague description, but 900F and 900H would best fit the appellation. As noted above the 900F and a variety of other variant models have the download booster feature. You could check with carriers or search the forum if you want to learn whether specific variants also utilize that feature.

Note 4 SM-N910C Lollipop Update?

Hi everyone. I know that this question has probably been asked before and there are perhaps a few threads on the same topic so I apologize if this seems repetitive.
I have an unlocked Note 4 the 910C (Exynos 5 Octa) and I have been checking for the Lollipop update - but every time I do it says my software is up to date (KitKat 4.4.4). I am using the device in the United States on T-Mobile Network. This is my first unlocked device.
I know Lollipop has pushed out to 910C devices but I am confused as to which one I should download. There are updates from Poland, Asia and so on. I have tried Kies and through there it also says my device is up to date. With so many different variants it becomes confusing. So I don't know if it hasn't been pushed out yet or if I have to do it manually.
Any help is appreciated and once again thanks for your patience with a relatively newbie member such as myself.

Thank you so much for this. I was able to determine my device is Malaysia SM-N910CZDEXME (Made in Vietnam) and I believe there is Lollipop in the Firmware tool. Much appreciated as I would have never figured this out!

My n910c exynos 5 octa core is xme malaysian carrier and i still have not receive any sort of update. Just today my siblings using n910f got another update of 84mb after 5.1.1. It breaks my heart to write that samsung is really not treating their customers how they should. I do not want to take any chances to brick my phone using odin or other methods of rooting. But certainly ask for insights from the senior members what should i do now? And certainly i am not expecting marshmallow too. Since i doubt all the carriers will get it. Articles from the internet tells me samsung is already working for n910f marshmallow. What about the n910c exynos 5 octa core? Will we ever get any sort of advantage to boost our 64 bit cores to it's potential?

you phone should have at least android 5.0 by now
No still running stock 4.4.4 Kitkat ?
KitKat is better than Lollipop. Trust me.
Yeah but still you know when your siblings brag about their mighty snapdragon you want to show off too.. plus why won't exynos get it?

Need help with getting TWRP and root on a Sprint S7 Edge.

I know this has been asked before, but it's been a year.
I have a friend who got themselves a Sprint S7 Edge. As far as I know the SIM lock is gone. Now he wants to get TWRP on it to be able to root it. I've been searching the internet for solutions and came over several guides that showed me how to root it, but no trustworthy recovery guide. The model number (SM-G935P/hero2qltespr) and processor are also confusing me. And as it seems there are no custom ROMs for the Sprint S7 either?
Im sorry if this thread is unnescesarry and Im simply missing something out or am too stupid.
All help is greatly apreciated.
there are 2 different methods depending on whether your phone is a exynos or snapdragon version.
which version does your phone say. Most us version are Qualcomm (snapdragon).
here is the link for snapdragon verion make sure it is the right one for your phone.

Its the Snapdragon Version. I followed the link but I noticed that the download link doesnt work. Why so?
Also, the guide I found linked me to the Exynos version of TWRP though the Model is the sprint one. Is it a mistake or right?

There's 2 opinions here, 1 being that an exynos firmware won't work on snapdragon device, which I personally believe is true but people have also told me there's nothing saying that you can't, but no one even though telling me that it can be done has actually shown me it being some successfully. I stick with my belief that it won't work.

I understood that, it could be possible but nobody tried before, the problem isn't the firmware, the phone just need a custom kernel that could interpret the exynos instructions and the snapdragon anatomy. In the note 5 the variant change can be possible but the note 5 don't have a snapdragon variant
I did my question 'cause there isn't many custom ROMs for the g950u variant
Thank you for the reply

Snapdragon bootloader is locked bar the Chinese version, so until they somehow do that, you won't see custom roms or kernels
They're different processors. It won't work.
You can flash W or U1 fw on a U and U on a W or U1. All American models are the same hardware so they're interchangeable.

That's not true. They are both arm64 v8 processors, meaning they will both execute arm64 machine instructions. It's like Intel and amd, they both implement x86_64. You don't need a different version of Windows for Intel vs amd, nor do you have to download different programs for one vs the other.
Even kernels do not have to be different. There is no reason that support for any hardware differentiation between the two models (of which there are few outside the soc itself) could not be part of the same kernel. PC Linux servers boot on tens of millions of machines of probably millions of unique hardware configurations using the same kernel, and since they are both running touchwiz the HAL (the primary differentiator between Android and traditional linux) will be identical
Your primary limitations with this is the locked bootloader, and the fact that apparently custom rom devs do things that require specific kernels. Since you can't boot a custom kernel, it may prove difficult. I havent tried so I can't say for sure
Hahaha right. Go ahead and listen to this guy. Flash F firmware and let us know how it goes.

No, yours is snapdragon, g955f is exynos. You can't flash firmware from that model since they have different chipsets

SM-955x specs
This is just an FYI for anyone else that might read this thread looking for info.
It is correct that many of the SM-9500 (S8) and SM-955 (S8+) variants (US, Canada, Japan, China, Hong Kong) use the Snapdragon 835 chipsets but all of the variants of both S8 and S8+ that the whole rest of the world got all use the Exynos 8895 chipset. That's a ton of phablets. There's a lot of misinformation out there but if you look at the spec sheets that Samsung has themselves supply as well as the official Wikipedia page, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. Another for instance, I've seen lots of sites that say the S8+ has 4GB of RAM which is only true of the 64GB version. The 128GB version has 6GB of RAM.
If you look around on XDA and a handful of other sites, people have flashed different CSC's with varying degrees of success. I have no idea where the issue stand currently, but I am working on figuring out what I'm going to do with my SM-955N variant right now. I don't need it working completely ATM as I still have my daily driver but I will be rooting (no warranty anyway since it was imported) and flashing. I am playing around with it and so far everything works great. I just haven't gone as far as getting it on the network as my SIM is one of those that can be resized to different sizes. It's currently a MicroSIM and once I snap the edge off to make it a NanoSIM I can't go back...without some super glue LOL! I'm not sure I want to risk that just yet as I don't want any of that glue getting inside my phone.
