This type of discussion should be kept in the Blackberry Beta Zone forums and not here. If you are part of the beta program then you can read a lot of posts about how other users in the Beta are not happy with those that are leaking because it can cause a complete shutdown of the Beta Program as it did with the BB 10 Beta. So we don't end up with what is going on at CrackBerry I recommend that the mods lock this thread as any posts about the beta violate the NDA that we all in the program signed.

Why would be any NDA on a beta testing?

I am sure that if Blackberry wanted to fully stop them... they would under the NDA. They have done this in the past with leakers. All I am stating is that people who participate in a program with an NDA should follow the rules. People that don't follow the rules are the ones that ruin it for everyone else and normally the first ones to complain about something being taken away. This is because they don't get to be a hero and post information.
Please keep communications about the Beta in the Beta Zone. This way we don't lose the ability for future testing of software from Blackberry, like they did with BB10.
I want to add that the reason there is an NDA is so people don't release a copy of the OS, screenshots and other data. That is because this is a Beta and Blackberry was nice enough to let users test it and have input into what they would like to see in the OS and find bugs that need to be fixed. Blackberry could have done like a lot of other OEMs and kept everything internal until release.

My stance on this is that we have not received anything from RIM about this being copyrighted, or a C&D or anything of the sort.
If someone agrees to an NDA, then that is between them and the entity with whom they agree on an NDA.
But according to the link provided in the OP, it says nothing about anything being confidential in any way, nor does it preclude our forum users from discussing it.
So we will watch the thread but right now I see no reason to close it or take action on it.

Public Release
http://www.marketwired.com/press-re...n-android-marshmallow-nasdaq-bbry-2118387.htm
Android 6.0.1 has been public released by BB. Still delayed for carrier purchased devices but if you have a non-carrier purchased device you should start getting it. The beta program will still go on. So if you want to join you can.

Telus also shaduled MM for priv and the date decided is may 3

This is my first time coming back to the forums in a while after upgrading from my old Droid 4. I just got a notification on mine about a system update. I take it this is the Marshmallow upgrade. My Priv is Verizon branded. I'll go ahead and install it.
Edit: Still running 5.1.1. Not too sure what all was updated.

I would say no as Verizon devices are not in the Beta. I would say that might be a security update. Blackberry has been great in sending out the security updates.

BlackBerry expands their Android beta program to include BlackBerry-authored apps

To anyone else in the UK with an unlocked Priv from CPW (STV100-4), like me who is fed up of waiting for the OTA Marshmallow update. I followed the instructions on BB's official support page here to install MM: http://uk.blackberry.com/content/bl...pport/smartphones/blackberry-PRIV/reload.html
Does involve a factory reset though but works great

Got the OTA Marshmallow update today (STV100-4 one from CPW in the UK). Gone from the manually flashed version above (Android 6.0.1 Build AAE570) to the OTA version (still 6.0.1 AAF057), not spotted any changes yet other than now having the June 1st security patch included.

I also got this update yesterday. For me it improved performance quite a bit and battery life seemed to be better, as far as I can tell from a few hours of usage.
But my annoying problem with the phone randomly not deep sleeping anymore, being awake permanently until a reboot and draining my battery is still there.

S3 Update in UK Gets Worse. (as if that was possible) Now the update has been remove

Since last Wednesday I have been one of the people who when I tried the OTA update, got the message saying, update service is not available, maximum number of roll out has been released, try later or upgrade through Kies.
Not that you could upgrade through Kies, as that always came back saying the latest firmware was installed.
As if 5 days of that message was not enough!
This morning Monday 9th December, that message has gone and it's gone back to just saying. Latest updates have already been installed.
It's as if the hope of an upgrade has been dangled in front of me for 5 days and now Taken away.
It certainly hasn't been updated. Unless the new version is keeping the random 5 to 10 second wait for the lock screen to undo, due to popular demand.
My phone is an unlocked S3 that was not supplied by a carrier, so was supposed to be one of the ones updated first.
How bad can you make a problem Samsung. Was the roll out of crap firmware not enough for you.

f*ck samsung!
Unless Samsung pulls off a miracle with future updates I intend to stay with custom ROMs! Currently I am using the 4.3-based SentinelRom which works perfectly. KitKat needs more time to mature on our phones.

Lollipop update thread!

Hey! Just wondering, but has anyone recieved the 5.0 update yet?
Yes, i'm kinda anxious.
I'm looking forward to lollipop on the shield but I may not allow it to install when it's first released.
There are a few of my commonly used apps that either crash on start or have problems in lollipop (on the nexus 7), so I have a feeling that there are a significant number of apps that still need updating.
My shield runs so flawlessly right now that I'd really hate to mess it up.

All the sites reporting that it has started to roll out are wrong, they're all reporting this on the basis of one screenshot from one user a couple of days ago. We'd be seeing more reports here if the roll out was really underway. Hopefully we should start seeing those reports very soon.

No update yet in the UK on LTE version
No update here in The Netherlands (Lte) yet.
Is it worth pre-optimising apps to use the ART runtime (via developer options), while awaiting the update?
I'm told by my colleague who has a Nexus 4, that received the lollipop update, that it took about 50 minutes to apply the update. But he hadn't set his runtime to ART, I have.
I'm waiting to see which of my devices gets lollipop first out of my Nvidia Shield Tablet and my Nexus 4.
Still nothing
Nothing in Poland.... LTE version.
Does anyone think that we'll get double tap to wake with the update? Here's hoping that it's not an N9 kernel feature ??
No Lollipop here in the U.S. yet. Hopefully, it'll hit soon! Definitely getting exciting for this update.
No Lollipop in France yet

Update Signs?

First off let me say I Do Not intend for this to be another whine thread....
Just wanted to reach out and see if anyone has had any signs of an update. I recall from one of the previous now closed threads started one user mentioned the 5th as being a possible date. Though seemingly arbitrary date the 5th is here.
People chime in if you get the notification!
Nothing for me yet.
It probably won't come out until the new Google phones do. I know it's difficult for flashaholics, but be patient.
Now I'm waiting for the September security update for Marshmallow, maybe it will be late too. They seem to be in a huge work.
This thread is the best sign.

This is the only sign from Google I have seen.
Absolutely notting here. Not even the sept security update.
There will be a September in 2017,too
If I'm remembering the same post, a user speculated that the update would be tied to the September monthly security update. That seemed like pure speculation. I hope the updates are posted soon but I don't think today will be the day, since it is already the afternoon and a business holiday. Hope I'm wrong!
Hope it's soon.

Yeah Im ready for the official build too, this NPD90G preview wants me to want more, or at least some minor fixes.
No updates.............there will be speculations.
No speculations.....probably updates.
From what I've heard Qualcomm needs to do some driver upgrades for full Android N Support. If that is the case, it would explain why Google hasn't released the update yet, they simply can't until Qualcomm delivers. I can imagine Qualcomm has their hands full at the moment with all the smartphone companies out their requesting driver updates to support Android N as well.
I don't have any references for this, as I read it in a post somewhere but don't remember where. Don't take my word for it. But of course it would be interesting if someone could confirm or deny this.
I don't expect the update any time soon, but at least the latest beta runs very smoothly on my device. Can't complain at the moment.
Thats what has confused me DP5 runs well so id have thought it was near release quality but I guess not with the update taking so long. As far as qualcomm surely google should be the highest priority for drivers/updates given that they build the entire base that all other android phones base off? So an N driver for a specific SoC should work for all devices using that SoC?
I'm pretty satisfied with the Uber N ROM as is.
What @onemandivision said is correct, driver updates are critical. It's not just the kernel and the android base.
I'm a little confused by the delay though since it is already clear that phones on chips older than snapdragon 800/801 won't get nougat (ie 65-70% of all android phones according to some surveys), so there should be very few drivers to update/fine tune? Am I wrong?

About XT1475 NOUGAT update

So i was on lenovo forums and found this (its for 1575 btw):
"Ok, so I've seen all the posts and comments. *I know Moto / Lenovo does not comment on Impending updates.
*
However.
*
When I called Moto Support Yesterday, I was told by two different reps that this phone's update schedule has changed, and it will no longer be recieving 7.0, or any further updates above 6.01, other than google supplied security updates.
*
Even funnier, when I asked how I was supposed to get my promised update, the rep told me to Unlock my bootloader and "Google for a nougat update, Just be carefull of hacked versions" (NOT Kidding)
*
When I asked for an ID or other information so I could track the seconnd call, I recieved reference number*170605-001691.
"
What u guys think?
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
Regular Motorola Lenovo support people have no idea and are not in the loop on updates. That is why if and when you are chosen for beta test you are told not to call them.
Since the main Nougat thread was needlessly closed, I haven't been able to keep track: has 7.0 rolled out for the XT1572 everywhere (i.e., across all of Europe) or are some major countries still waiting?
If it's rolled out everywhere else, there's absolutely no reason to think the XT1575 will ever receive Nougat. Why would there be a multi-week or multi-month gap for a device that's essentially identical? It probably has to do with CDMA issues and/or carriers demanding $$ for an approval process before they allow Nougat-ified 1575's on their network.

The main thread was closed from all of the arguing and was intended to keep track of the XT1575 update. Since nothing new was happening for months, it only made sense to lock it to save the admins from getting another headache from cleaning the thread again. It would be nice to have a good place to see where else the XT1572's have been getting updates though

One of Motorola forum administration said, that rep provided a wrong information, and they "recruite" him better. No official info about cancellation of update was provided, so I think we have a small hope.

Seriously? We will get the update... The last "beta" was just sent to testers only a few weeks ago (early August I believe) because they were still having issues with Nougat on the XT1575, and once it has been approved and found to be stable it is usually rolled within 30 days.
The mentioned "obsolete" and "we are not getting an update per customer service" is crap, and has been CLEARLY disproved on Moto's official forums... did a rep say that? Apparently they did, but they were flat out wrong... they did not have the knowledge or the authority to do so.
TBH, this update for the Pure has been a PR nightmare for Moto... they don't talk about it (which is not new, Moto has been tight lipped about software updates since before Google bought them) and it is taking a ridiculously long time to get a stable ROM, the beta testers have had significant issues with several builds, even hard brick issues early on when performing a factory reset.
Although I get people's frustration, how do you think people would feel if they they got an update, then did a factory reset for whatever reason, and the device bricked because of it?
I know it sucks... but seriously what is it going to do for you? Other than a few gimmicks that Nougat has that Marshmallow does not, the update does NOTHING for this device, no new camera API, no Vulcan support, no VoLTE, no Pixel Launcher, not even updated Moto apps. You get multi-window which honestly barely has a usable function, and clear all in recents, which is also not really important, and Google Allo added at the system level (yeah, OK, nobody uses it I know).
Patience, it will come when it's ready... I honestly don't care anymore if it comes or not because by the end of the year I will be moving on to something else since this one will be pushing 20 months for me and it is just time to move on.
I'm on an XT1572 Style, which I purchased online -- I'm guessing diverted from EU markets, since the update announcements were always in French. Nougat 7.0 has made this phone unbearable to use -- 1-3sec lags on most interface interactions, and up to 5 seconds when it feels like it. I've followed the advice from Moto support to fix it, including a hard factory reset. I agree with the post above that 7.0 adds very little value to the phone. I'm angry enough to look into a consumer law action against Motorola for the replacement value. And there is no way in hell I will be buying another Moto device -- looking hard at the OnePlus 3T.
Just received nougat 7.0 this morning for my moto x pure edition. Installed the software in 30 min. Noticed the app files are larger. Everything runs smoothly so far. The phone is a XT1575 32GB. It was a very long wait. Located in Coeur D Alene, ID. Jerry Purchased from Best Buy, unlocked, Retail

June Update

Can we get Android 8.1.0 after June update
Are you asking or just saying?
Behold xda users, it's the time of the month. It has begun. Brace yourselves with this kind of threads!
Wow, that was surprising... Not!
Is it that hard to understand that You will receive the update regardless of endless/pointless threads on XDA when it's ready to release!
You will receive it to Your phoce according to Xiaomi's roll-out plan.
If it's by region and/or IMEI series time will tell!
But You ill get it eventually when it's Your turn...
And please try to realize the screaming/whining/crying does not make the roll-out process any quicker.
Nor will some "bullet proof" or "tested and verified" ways to force the update make Your life better.
Just be a bit patient, just for once!
I'm no fortune teller, but based on past records we can reasonably expect the update to be released 21-25th June. Let's just all be patient until then.

did you mean to say '****'?
I think I can create a task schedule, so every month it will create new stupid thread about an update!
Everyone are sick of it.
Please stop spamming XDA with those ******* questions!
Can we get August update
You know what people? I'm gonna give you a different perspective of these kind of threads - a positive one.
First of all, those threads may seem useless, but for me they are a quick and easy way to see the update schedules from Xiaomi.
It's pretty simple - each month a so called 'noob' posts a thread of this kind. Then there are people that flame him for posting that thread (and I actually get mad way more when I see THOSE people there, because they just don't have anything else to do except complain for something). A week or so later, when Xiaomi releases the update, some other people come and send screenshots of their settings, showing the update is ready to download. When that happens - I know I should go and update my phone, too.
And why seek updates each month? Do they make our lives better? To be honest - no. But there is just some satisfaction of updating, knowing you go to the latest and newest possible software. Seeing the A/B partition scheme come into place, so it updates while you're using your phone is amazing. Also the fact that you're getting every security patches (well, some come out later but they still eventually do come out) makes you feel kinda 'proud' (if that's how I can even qualify it) of this cool budget Android One device.
Just be chill. Welcome such threads with smile, knowing that there is always some sort of a 'noob' trying to enter the world of customizing tech, modding, and even developing.
Are you parents brothers right?

No it's not hard. Whats hard is earning the money we spent on a device which made so many promises. Its totally fine that we are not getting any new update but you cannot stop anyone by telling that Xiaomi has a bloody roll out plan ciz if it had it would have been shown to us a long time ago when they released this phone. & this is only about shifting from one oreo to another oreo, what's your say when android P comes out.

Let's NOT try to start a flame here...
Just agree to disagree!
Just to explain my point of view:
A1 is a budget phone.
At least I was aware of that when I bought it, so delayed updates/upgrades aren't any surprise especially as MIUI is Xiaomis flagship.
Roll-out plan: I was referring to the way Xiaomi chooses to distribute updates/upgrades. If You don't f*ck up Your phone You will receive an update notification. That works just fine at least on my phone!!
When it comes to 8.1 update: Who knows... I personally don't have any bigger issues that makes it critical to receive it ASAP.
And I haven't seen massive feature upgrades compared to 8.0 that are overwhelming.
There just might be other reasons to to visit XDA than 8.1 upgrade, right?? At least that's to case for me ...
(As Eng. isn't my native lang. I apologize for bad grammar in advance!)

My phone works just fine without a June update and I would rather only have a stable update Xiaomi are happy to push.
I actually see it as a good thing, maybe whatever they planned to push (patch/security/8.1 who knows), was not ready and they had the good sense to delay pushing it until it was ready.
