mines still not working after restart
I faced the same problem. Is any way to get solved that?
I disabled all my Edge apps, they use a quite a chunk of ram for the purpose they serve.
The problem is not to disable Edge apps but feeds not working

I have the same issue when I swipe the edge on the s7 edge when the screen is locked it says unable to show notifications
Has never worked for me. Shows "unable to show notifications"
Not working for me either.
I was disabling some apps with Package Disabler Pro and I killed a bunch of them.
First thing I noticed was that mu Samsung S Clear Cover wasnt working (when I flipped the cover the screen wouldnt turn off), a simple restart fixed the problem but then I noticed the Edge Feed wasnt.
When I swipe my finger up and down on any side, nothing happens nor shows up.
I did notice that when I do the gesture the phone wouldnt sleep anymore (simply by holding my thumb on the home button after doing the up-down thing would unlock the phone) and the screen would still be black
Still no solution? I have a hungarian S7 edge and am facing the same ptoblem using the firmare version G935FXXU1APC8.
Solution to edge notifications not working
I found this for the s6. I was having the same issues with my s7. This fixed it!
How to solve “Unable to show notifications” problem for edge screen on Galaxy S6 edge?
You will get the “Unable to show notifications” on the edge screen if you disable notifications on lock screen,
As edge screen on Galaxy S6 edge is part of the lock screen. If you, for privacy reasons, disable notifications on lock screen, notifications will not be shown on edge screen as well.
Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge offers you three options on notifications on lock screen (in Settings—Sound and notifications –-Notifications on lock screen **I searched "notifications on lock screen in my settings***):
1.Show content. Notification will be shown, as well as the preview of the notification.
2.Hide content. Notification will be shown, but no preview of the content.
3.Do not show notifications. Notifications will not be shown on lock screen, including edge screen. If this is selected, you will get the “Unable to show notifications” on edges screen on Galaxy S6 edge.
So, the solution for this “Unable to show notifications” problem on edge screen on Galaxy S6 edge, is to choose Hide content or Show content for notifications on lock screen, not the third one.

On the s7 edge, when screen was off, there was a way to trigger on the edge display and see news feed and notifications scrolling on the edge display. Doesn't seem to work o S8.. any idea?

On my S7 edge running MM I go to Settings -> Edge Screen and have Edge Feed turned on. Not sure if Nougat or the S8 is different.
Have you tried hitting the magnifying glass to search for it while you're in the settings menu?
Even i couldn't find that option. Is this feature removed i n S8?
Edge feed

It only took someone to ask Samsung now we have to play the waiting game.
Technically S8 and S8 plus are an infinity display not an edge screen phones. That's the reason no edge feeds options in these latest phones.
I even contacted Samsung regarding the same and received the following message
"I am afraid that the S8 and S8+ do not have this feature as they have infinity screen not the edge screen.
There is no updates on whether the Edge
screen feature will be introduced on the
58 but please keep an eye on the
website as any news will be available on
there for you. Thank you"
Do you guys talk about "edge panels"? There are available many panels that you can choose from. No news feed panel though.
I had no S7 to compare but I like it a lot.
any news about edge feeds? is this can port from s7 edge rom?
Anyone else experiencing issues with the "keep screen turned off" feature after upgrading to nougat? I noticed that after upgrading, this feature stopped working. It was working fine prior to updating to nougat. I'm on Rogers S7 edge.
I've tried factory resetting my phone but the feature is still not working. I've tested the sensor with the test menu and the sensor seems to be working, so it seems like it's a software issue? Any one else experiencing this or know how to fix it?
Thanks
Yes. I too am getting this issue with mine. Brand new... perhaps a couple of weeks old.

I have the same issue. It fixes itself after a restart but after a while the "keep screen turned off" fails again.

Yes, me too. Anyone found a solution to this?
Same problem here. Isn’t there an app or something that will fix this, even if it requires root?
Is this where while on a call, you press the power button and the screen turns back on? If so, I'm getting that too.
Same issue after Nougat on Galaxy S6 Edge. My better half's S7, too. Any news on this?
I also have that issue.
It's a big problem for me because I basically can't use my phone in my car any more.
On outgoing or incoming calls the damn screen turns on and keeps on
and after a short while I accidently press one of the on-screen buttons and my call is aborted or muted.
(I own a Samsung Galaxy S6)
I too have this issue. I am using the lockscreen until Samsung fixes this.
my phone touch screen pressing. I can't seem to use swipe without making mistakes on YouTube app.
When I try to scroll it keeps thinking I'm clicking.
also on other app's too.
who else has this problem?
i think its fixed now. from the video below

Hi All,
Need your expertise in one thing. I am seeing that if I turn off the edge lighting function, then WhatsApp notifications are turning of the screen when locked. Is there a way to stop this wierd behaviour. As far as I remember, this was not the case some time back.
I am on stock Oreo 8.0 with Experience 9 on S8 Exynos version. Am I the only one facing this issue and is anyone able to stop this behaviour ?
Very warm regards to everyone. Thanks in advance.
Anyone please help. This is really annoying to not be able to find out the settings by oneself. Feels like an educated illiterate:crying:
