1) You can switch mode by clicking the button in notification : GSM for GSMOnly, AUTO for GSM/LTE Auto; LTE for LTE Only
2) There are some Auto modes : switch to GSM when WiFi connected; switch to GSM if the LTE signal too poor and so on.
You can find the settings in the main activity

yes, tested, it is true. show up a testing menu.
It appears to bring up a test menu to test things like the screen and the camera.

This may be really stupid, but I see that the phone is set to GSM/CDMA auto (PRL).
Does this mean that this thing may work with say Sprint's CDMA network, if I plug in a Sprint SIM?
I read somewhere that the radio supports both GSM and CDMA (although it doesn't mean it has an antenna for both).
I don't think so that chip is 'dual'.
(and there is no list for this options)

Hm, when I enter the service menu as posted above, I get a whole bunch of options, some say CDMA Only, some GSM only. Mine is set at GSM/CDMA auto (PRL).
For a brief description of the menus, see this:

Anyway, it would be too good to be true

This specific menu does not work with this phone.
I would want to ask are there any apps/widgets that can place a short cut for me to toggle between 3G(HSDPA) and 2G and Auto? Basically it serve the same function as going into
Settings -> Wireless and Networks -> Mobile Network Settings -> Network mode -> Changing between WCDMA, GSM and GSM/WCDMA auto.
So far, the closest I can get to is some apps, such as extended controls, bring me to the Mobile Network Settings page, which then I would have to press Network Mode and change it from there. I have used CM7 for a brief while but reverted back to a sense rom after a month, as I prefer using some of the sense stuff. CM7 have a Network Mode toggle in the quick switch and it works exactly as I wanted it to.
But now I'm on ARHD, which like every other sense rom, doesn't have Network Settings in the quick settings menu. Hence, I am wondering if there are any apps or widgets that allow you to instantly toggle between WCDMA, GSM and GSM/WCDMA Auto. Does anyone know of such an app?
Try a search in Market.
Or use this:

Did someone know how and can i set somehow WCDMA in options. When i using older version android(2.3 ) i have to choose in network mode WCDMA only. That is very important for my internet .Net works for me and now,but very slower than usualy. Can someone know how can i do that,or what version of roms have this in options ?
Go to settings - CM settings - interface - notification power widget - widget buttons - check 2G3G... scroll down to network modes and select 2g3g only ... now just click on the notification widget to switch between gsm and wcdma..

Good afternoon.
could you tell me if there is a solution to have the choice to stay on the 3G network and not only on the 2 (2G/3G)? because when I had my gs3, I stayed more on the 3g when I chose the option 3g only. thank you.

CM 10 has this feature as a quick toggle (link to ROM dev thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020859).

Go to the dialer. Type *#*#4636#*#*
Choose: Phone Information
Scroll down and change "WCDMA Preferred" to "WCDMA only"
No more 2G. Until your reboot. Then you'll have to do those steps again.
Or you can go to the dialer -> then type in *#*#4636#*#* -> then choose phone info, next, scroll down and you'll see a rectangular box that has "WCDMA Preferred". Click on that, a list of options would then appear.
2G only=GSM Only
3g only=WCDMA Only
2g + 3g=WCDMA Preferred or GSM/WCDMA (Auto)

thank you all for your tip, but I did not really want to install a cyanogen rom on my vanilla because rootbox suits me very well and the thing * # * # 4636 # * # * I already knew, but just the fact of power on / off connection ensures that the default setting revert ...

Hi everyone,
Obviously, I know where to find the setting that allows you to switch between LTE/GSM/WCDMA to, say, just WCDMA. But is there a tool that would allow me to switch that mode from a widget or quick setting tile? My commute features varying degrees of network congestion on LTE, so I like to switch back and forth. I'd just like for that process to be something I could do more quickly.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
I don't think so as far as I know. Best option I've found is keep the code in a text file and copy paste into the dialer and change from there.

On the pull down shade there is a data toggle. Press and hold to go directly to that setting screen.

I had no idea how to select network mode, thanks to your working code I was able to select gsm only network and save my old non LTE supported sim card from randomly searching for signals on a lte supported network and draining my battery like hell!
THANK YOU for your working code :good:
