How much free RAM should I have?

What does everyone have for free RAM? I have between 320 - 400. Is this normal/average? Running rooted stock.

That's about it.
You don't have to worry about free ram, JB will take care of itself

As said, dont worry about the free memory, JB will manage it fine.
Dont use a task killer either for memory management, only to kill problem apps, and if an app is repeatedly a problem app, then uninstall it.
With Android, you are better off with apps in memory as they will launch/run quicker, free memory is wasted memory.
I agree with these post, don't worry about free ram. As long as a particular app isn't causing problems by taking up too much theres no need to really worry about memory. Unused memory is basically resources not being used.

Empty RAM uses electricity, and RAM used as cache is as static as empty RAM. It's not as if the system is turning off power to the modules that are unused. You'll see a negligible impact (if any) from having more free.
Edit: In fact, you may see the opposite if you aggressively free memory due to increased flash memory usage.

Cool, thanks for all of the info. I just wanted a point of reference, nothing was wrong.

Mem leak in 4.3 ?

Is memory leak problem solved in android 4.3?
Sent from my Nexus 4
Which memory leak?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4
is there an issue? no problem here. are you sure that its not just one of your apps? a badly written app could potentially "leak" memory.
Ram used to take 1gb of memory... N I used to reboot to clear it off

I have not experienced it on 4.2.2 or 4.3, though I run stock.

i have never had ram take 1gb. i usually have between 1250-1550 free. right now i have 1327mb free ram. seems like you might need to take some time to take control of your apps. if you have root, greenify(app) will help, autostarts works well too. if you dont control your apps, they start controlling you and your device. personally, id rather be the one thats in control
I now have 0.94 GB RAM free but what does it matter? You have 2 gigs of RAM and its still running buttery smooth.

The N4 never had a memory leak. Don't worry about how much free ram you have, free ram is wasted ram and using it uses no extra power

Use greenify and hibernate the apps that u do not use. Alternately, you can go to task manager and clear memory to kill applications.

Do u agree with this article re task killers

I never use task killer, memory booster or other similar apps on my old slow note 1. The app itself will consume ram.
Maybe because I like more to reflash rom if it tends to get slower so I could be bias.

I only use the clear ram option from the taskmanager (google put it in there), and Greenify to kill useless apps.
People can say it's bad all they like. When your device starts alowing down, the keyboards lag and apps crash, and clearing the RAM solves the problems, experience speaks more loudly than theory.
So what if that means Facebook takes a whole 2 seconds more to launch?

S5 internal storage problems

I've just rooted my s5 and clean master keeps popping up saying I have very low storage that it might not be able to save photos, how to I overcome this? I never had this problem with my s3.
It says I have 1.8gb left
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app
Uninstall clean master?
Is that not a good app to have then?
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app
If it's giving you storage errors when you have none, then probably not
I had a look at it and noticed that Id had it installed previously, and the fact that it's not on my phone any more tells me I didn't like it
